- Genshin Impact is seeing a bit shift in the meta with the release of brand new 5 star DPS characters and new mechanics. In this video, I go over 7 of the biggest changes to the meta thanks to Fontaine's release in version 4.1. I talk about Neuvillette, Lyney, Wriothesley, and how they will impact the future of Genshin Impact.

This is what I've been saying. Not just Yoi, but Razor and other characters whose dmg output are dependent from NA/CAs. It's unfortunate.

If Xiao was released in Fontaine his E would probably heal him lol. If you think about it that way, Fontaine's hp draining and self healing mechanic is quite the powercreep.
This was exactly my thought, omg you made my day i thought im the only way thinking this! Its actually so unfair for him! Tbf He drains very slow though and has the most consistent Drain prolly.
Maybe they even thought about for Fontaine because of him, his HP Drain is basically a religious thing as IT IS apparently Karma draining him down (Bad energy)

Not really. Hutao has auto heal because unlike Xiao, she drops her hp very fast.
Just like fontaine chars. Neuvi loses 50% in one single attack, and if I'm right, Wrio loses that too in a NA5.

I wasn’t so surprised by the constellations give NA lvls since it has shown the max lvl being 15 for talents
It’s more of a fail safe then a sure thing. They gave themselves the room to go up to 15. If it were based on Childes talent plus the 3, they would of stopped it at maximum level 14. They still gave themselves 1 talent level left for wiggle room as talent level 14 is now the highest achievable on normal attacks.
But at the end of the day I don’t think these two things are directly correlated. They gave themselves that wiggle room just because. I don’t think they specifically had this scenario in mind, ya feel me?
At first I thought there were events or domains that could give talent levels (not sure if it actually happened)

3:30 Xinqui's C6 does not shred, it's his C2. Deepwood is also worth mentioning (as well as Nilou's C2 for whales), as it makes that seahorse boss much more tolerable to the point that it dies faster than you break the shield.

I feel like another shift in the meta is the viability of freeze. There's usually never something in abyss with a whole freezable side these days, and the new hydro enemies can't even be frozen when they transform
Surprised that he didn't mention how generous Fontaine is with crystal flies. Though the catcher gadget is useless since you can just farm the crystal flies directly instead of farming material for it.
Like you predicted, Dehya also benefits from the new HP mechanics, as it allows other characters to take reduced dmg and have stagger resistance instead of running a shielder. She also self heals so she can trigger any drain+heal mechanics even while off field.
She still seems massive Cope as a Dps, but yea your prolly right. I think she is a bit to slow nontheless, which is sad. What i noticed she will be really good for Rizzley ase well.
Still not better than your usual healer for building stacks, even someone like Barbara. Dehya’s healing passive is inconsistent and she can even die off-field. There are also generally much better units who also provide resistance to interruption, Xingqiu and Beidou for example.

You want your usual Benny Xiangling core for him to actually consistently reverse melt, and the fourth slot is basically reserved for Shenhe to buff his personal damage. Dehya will provide absolutely nothing, as he already has some of his own interruption resistance, and that’s not even mentioning her skill’s pyro application, which is absolutely abysmal and will even get overtaken by cryo.

That only counts if you have C1. He doesn't wanna gain or lose outside his own Drain and Heal Mechanics or else you lose your Charged Attacks. So your kinda wrong here actually. Ones character Interrupion isn't enough, look at Mr Magician. So idk how in the world she provides nothing? That is just straight up wrong. Yes, i agree though her application is very meh.
One thing I really like about Fontaine bosses is that even though some have shields, favonius and sacrificial weapons can proc their passives...
I'm looking at you lectors, heralds, and mages...
not only that but they also allow to procc elemental skill/bursts on hit mechanics like Raiden E... looking at you, abyss mages.
And Albedo can hit them
It's because this shield only reduces dmg, not prevents like herald, lectors, and mages.
I think you forgot about bloom-based reactions getting nerfed by the new horse and crab enemies. because they can apply a pyro / electro aura in the ground, so the one that is triggering hyperbloom / burgeon are them, that significantly decrease our bloom based reaction.

It'd be wonderful if HoYo changed the normal/charged attack oriented characters' constalations from there E buff to NA/CA buff, like Tighnari, Ganyu

6:56 the last limited waifu to come out was Nilou over a year ago it's been husbando impact releases this whole time.
As of 4.1, for Fontaine playable characters we have 4 male characters including Wriothesley and only a single female (Lynette) so that at least partially explains the last meta change described.
We're gonna have alot of women dropping soon. Furina, charlotte, navia, clorinde
Ganyu is always used to talk about the meta changing but the reality is that she will never die

Ganyu main here, her C1 was my first 5-star constellation. I regret it. New 5-stars get massive improvements with low constellations, but older characters like Ganyu have low benefit from their cons. I could have gotten a whole new 5-star character for the cost of that one constellation.
@@yptrumpet yes this is exactly the reason why I haven't gotten it yet, when Ganyu banner comes back I'll try to get a c1 with a bit of luck, 2 or 3 multis max and I'll stop
why is it that abys floors 9-11 are super easy, but as soon as i do anything on floor 12 its like 200x harder and nothing wants to die or take damage. I been playing for 3 years every day and i still probably only 9 stars the floor 12 once but now can't even get past the 1st wave. that unicorn thing destroys me no matter what i do

The fact that mono-element team are getting 'official recondition' (lyney and his bow) is quite interesting, I hope we get more interesting playstlyles in the future

It might be ironic as you said that hoyoverse bring a mono element playstyle after the reaction mechanism, but I think it's not that bad because now we have more playstyle options to choose. I'd choose to play reaction tho, because watching a lot of numbers in different colors made me satisfied in a way 🤣

5. mono geo team comp still remain unchanged since December 2021
7:00 ppl took this "husbando overshadowing" so seriously that somebody confronted me after i said that neuvillette is op. According to this guy im incel. No i dont know why either.
Not sure I agree with 7. Alhaitham and Childe have always had the best teams for non-whales even if people didn't always realise it immediately. Look up any recent Abyss stats - it will almost certainly be Alhaitham hyperbloom at no.1 and International at no.2
Childe have been meta on abyss since he released, international childe best non whale comp fr
International teams are mostly about the international part and less on whichever on-field you decide to use, though.
Yeah but those are only 2 out of the many male characters. He also emphasized MAIN dps, and Childe is more like a driver in that comp so he's not completely wrong
@@zippo718speed run wise thats a cap, specially on bosses floors. Comp with childe will ever do faster cause his burst and aoe
@@zippo718 Childe does make it noticeably better than other Hydro units. Kokomi, Barbara and Mona do way less damage. XQ and Yelan are mid in AoE. Ayato is pretty good but can't double swirl. Neuv doesn't get Bennett buff, annoying to double swirl and doesn't want to stay close to enemies
8 - A bunch of teams that you can run without a healer but with confort, because of the self healing mechanics, as long as you understand Iframes

Furina seems to not agree with you.
Fontaine may give us new strong units and bunch of new mechanics.. But deep down we all knew the true meta will always be Xiangling on one side and whichever team that isn't hard countered on the other...

ngl. watching Nuevilette just beam the hardest boss to death in 5 seconds isn't a good advertisement for Genshin Impact imo

Reminds me of playing any other game with console commands or something
For Ganyu melt with seahorse boss, I use Nahida, Dehya, and Bennett. Use Nahida's skill, then Ganyu's burst, then Dehya's burst (make sure to hit in front of the seahorse for maximum exposure to its pearl core), then start shooting with Ganyu until the shield is down. Takes about 10 seconds. Once shield is down, apply Nahida's skill and burst, Dehya's skill, Bennett's burst, then start shooting with Ganyu. Works just fine. Time varies based on builds and position strategy, but I'm able to finish the stage in as little as 41 seconds possible.
Mono elemental focused ? Neuvi still needs 3 different elemental reactions to function properly with maximum stack of buffs. Also fontain seems like a meta alternative to me, it's hardly meta change because dendro still works with wonders in abyss and even before dendro meta still works fine thanks to XL bennet XQ. Lastly this abyss buffs neuvi's damage so much like %48 more damage on his ca, so keep this in mind while comparing him to other units.
He dont really ‘need’. He is strong, and furina being a hydro unit will even make mono hydro or hydro+1 anemo stronger for neuvi.
@@fazril7972 No, just no. Just look at his C1 hoyo literally selling you a solution which they created at the first place. With 1 reaction you are going to get %10 bonus which is pretty low in mono hydro + anemo team. With 3 reaction this buff is %60 bonus, huge difference(assuming in both situations you are getting vv shred). Don't let them fool you with this abyss buff and fontain domain buffs specifically designed to buff this hp mechanic chars.
@@wunduniik4042 not really, based on experience and in practice, getting 3 different hydro reaction for bonus aint that huge (extra 25% bonus base dmg), but in double hydro these are the benefits:
1) hydro resonance (25% hp = base dmg for neuv and useful other hp scaler in the team)
2) can easily swirl hydro = vv shred/activate kazuha bonus dmg, coz neuv hydro application is not strong (non-charge attack), it takes so much time to setup triggering 3 diff reaction (it might be easier on first rotation but next time its going to be clunkier)
3) furina (her alone is far better than the 3rd stack of neuv's passive)
c1 helps get that 25% easily but is not totally needed, but atleast it adds a resistance to interruption makes it at least a decent c1

Meta is what is most effective in the current abyss. So yeah, there’s a meta.
One of the best things that Fontaine has brought to me is Dehya's usability, she has an actually good team with Neuvillette where she is an important unit and an okay team with Lyney, and hopefully she may work in a burning melt team with wriothesley as he's a melee character and burning inflicts damage to the characters too. She's unfortunately far from being meta, but I'm glad she gained some value since her launch.

I am currently trying to build Dehya for Lyney! Really glad cause she's one of my favorite characters. I don't have Zhongli and Lyney would love a mono-pyro team so she's gonna be in it. ^^

That _new type of elemental shield_ our pearly unicorn is using has been in the game since day one on the Fatui operatives.
I'm Welkin only (with incredibly bad luck) & the only Fontaine character I've gotten is Lynette. Only having one side of pneuma/ousia reactions (I'm not using Hydro traveller) makes it feel very underwhelming.

I don’t know if anything happened preventing you to showcase C6 characters or doing DPS showdown, or maybe you just don’t want to do this type of content anymore, but I really miss those kind of videos because you are one of the few CC that really understands the game and you always do an amazing job with these type of videos !
I really like to hear your opinion about constellations, and a character’s performance overall ! I think it’s interesting and you do it in a very entertaining way !
Anyway I hope everything is going well for you and it’s just a personal choice or nothing really important.

(Edit : I’m not saying you have to pull C6R5 for content if maybe you can’t / don’t want to do it anymore, but hearing your thoughts on constellations is great since you have experience with that, and since you have access to media server for guides you also should have c6r5 of the new character to test it. My main DPSes used to be Alhaitham and Xiao for a while... "Husbandos" were my go to before Fontaine, hope Wrio will be good too xD
The biggest change, of course, is the HP drain/restore mechanics. One of the big implications of this is that old buffer characters (i.e Bennett) do not work well with it, so a new type of buffer character will be coming. Who, in turn, won't work well with pre-Fontaine characters. So there will be some strong Fontaine-focused teams which are separate from the rest of the meta.

Thank god for that, daddy impact left me poor, in inazuma i was able to get all husbandos c2 r1 since everyone else was super easy to skip, but sumeru and the first patches of fontaine left me no choice but to buy crystals 😅, kinda glad i will go back to f2p once the easy to skip waifuzzz start flooding the banners, more time to save for varka or capitano
Dendro is the bane of electro shields. This aside yeah...exciting mechanics, dmg sponges and regular mobs that one shot the teams in overworld. Fun like running barefoot on Lego.

Furina is a support though. Her damage isn't even comparable to Yelan to be even called a DPS. A broken support nonetheless. But Arlecchino. I have a feeling Arlecchino is gonna be a DPS and superrrr strong too. Because Harbingers before her were all DPS. And although Childe is okay and Wanderer is kinda mid, Arlecchino might turn out to be better than them.
The only one who leaks as a dps only navia and chlorinde, arlechinon is pyro support. And furina is off field dmg dealer

7 -- Its been almost a year with almost all 5 star releases are Husbandos starting with Wanderer then Alhaitham. Dehya came but Baizhu and Kaveh was right there as well. Then Lyney, Neuvilette and finally ends with Wriothesley!!

I really hate point 5. That's actually makes geo even more less relevant. Geo's gimmick is to be a mono element and does unga bunga damage. And now since other element start to do that as well and can be swirled, why bother go with the inferior geo element, which is sucks
Maybe they will make geo special with crystallize reaction in the future

With upcoming leaks talking about making crystallized reactions DPS worthy and Navia...thats likely to change. She may be the first GEO DPS that can exist outside of mono geo. If theyre smart she powercreeps itto and makes Furina valuable in her team. She should be amazing. She will be getting drip marketed in 3 weeks

Itto, alhaitham, xiao, diluc and cyno are strong dps.
The sheets on qb cyno have him around double hydro hu tao. Diluc vape is okay and his melt is just a little less than hu tao. Now, neuvillette and lyney are stronger than these guys, but right now they're basically stronger than everyone. Alhaitham is arguebly the best dps. There's also wanderer (C6 faruzan) who is the best hypercarry.

No.5, mono pyro klee has been so good for the first half of floor 12, even if it is only sucrose instead of kazuha since I don't have him

Waaaiiit a minute. No, Fontaine wasn't the first to release a dps husbando that outperformed all of the waifus. Sumeru was with the release of Alhaitham, and Wanderer did not fall far behind either at all.
i just want them to rework some characters cons, like yoimiya, ganyu and hu tao, instead of leveling up their burst, they can level up normal attack like lyney and neuvillette, i dont have any of them at c3 but would be 2x better yoimiya and ganyu getting 3 level in attack instead of burst

ganyu burst is her best talent in freeze surely you mean instead of her skill that does zero damage
You're gonna need to make an update for this video in less than a month when 4.2 comes out. I won't be specific since it's still leaked info, but Furina will be absolutely meta defining.
I like mono teams being more viable, but not a fan of it coming at the cost of reaction teams (like the unicorn swirl issue)
with the Unicorn ( or any electro shielded mob) use Dendro. No swirl needed and the shields go down like butter in a frying pan. I don't understand why no one ever mentioned this and still use cryo or pyro on electro mobs.
@@RejectedInchdendro feel really slow than cryo or pyro to break electro unicorn shield, I tried hyperbloom team isn't effecttive beat that like ayaka team or monopyro
@@RejectedInch Unicorn is defo designed to counter Hyperbloom. The electro floor is preventing Hyperbloom to deal actual damage and the shield wont break. Although i didnt care and still use Hyperbloom and still getting 36 stars in the end. But not because Hyperbloom is effective in this particular fight mind you.

I don't really like how the meta is shifting to mono elements, I feel like reactions are more fun, and talking about the male characters getting better, also reminds me about us not having a female DPS five star since Yoimiya(or C2 Raiden)
Its bcs they don t care abt the game lol at first they told streamers that promoted the game in 1.0 to share detail of this new amazing combat elemental system but after they made this game for kids they didnt care anymore imo, had so much pottential left it into dust

Mono elements aren't even close to become the meta. The only thing that came to this was lyney and hutao double hydro is still better.

1-Freminet's damage doesn't come mainly from his skill ?
5-Some mono élément teams were already playable and fun to play, Mono geo, Mono Hydro, Mono Pyro...
7-Sumeru was a Husbando Impact already. Alhaitham is really strong, Tighnari does a good job, Cyno do his QuickBloom job fine too. There is more than a year without an onfield DPS waifu. We still got monster like Nahida and Nilou but we are lacking on onfield Waifu DPS. Archon will be a support like all Archon so I hope Navia will be the next one. =D
Both Navia and Clorinde hopefully. Tbh, I would't mind if Arlecchino is instead a Bennett or Xiangling upgrade/sidegrade (at least for some teams), though I still kinda want her on-field as well.

So you completely ignored the fact that Alhaitham, since his debut, was the top tier main DPS? The era of DPS wifus were long dead since Alhaitham's arrival.
Glad with these normal attack characters, this game have some beautiful normal attack animations but never make big use of them.

I like neuvilette because of him i can try various characters that unfitting with meta character comps and total dmg dealt is still enough so i can actually having fun using various characters... abyss might be barely 36* but i honestly having fun trying many comps for once in genshin

To be fair I absolutely love it that they give the husbandos a powercreep and their moment to shine, but especially Neuvilette is way to strong compared to other characters.
His drawback is that he needs time to charge is attack but bßecause you can almost always skip this hitting 60k per tick is to much.
I have a decently wee built Ayaka with shenhe and kazuha and mistsplitter and she hits like 32k per tick at maximum. That is not balanced
