My question is only my dimmer switch is missing somehow when I bought the vehicle. The headlight switch works. Can I just replace the dimmer wheel ?

What is the third small wiring connector on the right side of the switch? Is it for the fog lights?

i tried doing this but once i got the knob on upside down and turned it it still wouldn’t come out and now the knob is stuck on. what did i do wrong? and how can i get it back off
The knob should just pull right off when upside down. Try the pushing little release tab or maybe it is just a real tight fit on the shaft.
