I have a neighbor that charged his fake Dewalt batteries in the garage and they caught on fire. When I charge and no name battery I’m careful to take them off right after charging
Some fakes are so convincing and good that they are made in the same factory, off the same production line with the same parts, by the same people who manufacture the genuine ones.
eBay got me as well. They say they are seizing out of L.A but when I did research it turned out they are from china. I reported them to eBay and got my money back
Thank you, I am not sure that this is a 100% guarantee that the battery is real. But it is at least a very good way to have at least good reason to think it is genuine. Thank you
I also noticed in your video that with the fake battery the "RED" in Redlithium's font looks off. Also the lightning bolt on the button you're pressing on the fake looks off as well. Top half of the bolt is different from the bottom.
What about capacity? I would expect that a counterfeit battery has reduced capacity, sagging voltage and low max current. If the battery electronics have no diagnostics, then the cells will also be low drain.
also on your 8.0 the red RED in red is slanted I just noticed that cause I’m looking at the same battery you have as I’m looking at yours and the letters are slanted but thank you for the video and help me out. Figure out why it had that diagnostic blinking, didn’t save my not charging battery but I thought maybe it would. It would tell me in the blinking codes if it was what was wrong with it but I appreciate the video thanks.
I purchased a 2pack of the xc6.0 from OfferUp which I knew it could be fake because of the price and yes it was the pack was seal like the real ones kinda hard to identify them in a few seconds but I just compared mines with the fake you just showed is exactly the same information not just that the batteries ran out of juice and it wouldn’t get any charge from my Milwaukee charger so thanks for this video great info won’t happen to me again lol 😝
The tip with the the lights is amazing! I never saw it before. Now I checked my batteries, and glad that they are real.
Thank you!
I’m glad they are real !!
Really good information. Thank you for sharing. Getting tired of these counterfeiters getting over on us.
It's not just ebay. Amazon is known to have some counterfeit batteries as well.
The fakes are a big fire hazards and I’d be worried about having them in my garage

@@deedle6073 I never thought of that
How do you know that? Could be but could be good copies reverse engineered.
Shouldn’t it be illegal for eBay to allow counterfeit sales on their website?
They do make money from it as well after all…
@@communicationiskey- yes it should be and they know they are fake I and many others have reported it to EBay

Hello, where can I find battery diagnostics. To understand how it works?
www.reddit.com/r/MilwaukeeTool/s/6E4eloitxI
Both of my 8.0s I got from FB marketplace do the diagnostics just fine when holding the button. I guess they’re good
@@RealPatrickBateman1 yep, as long as it goes into the diagnosis mode your good 👍
@ appreciate you 👍

Yep Ebay batteries are BS. They are fake and crappy. Got burned on 12v milwaukee.
I agree
Just bought some M12 HO's from Ebay now I'm crossing my fingers they're going to be legit.
