The one and only.
Hard to convince me that these are better than Barkbusters. Will they replace your levers? If they do, I would consider.
cast aluminum vs billet aluminum is no contest! thus bark buster is superior frame wise, just dont look as nice as these units.
I really appreciate your overview of the hand guards. I am an example of one of those doubting folks you mention. I first saw these hand guards from a review you did waaaay back when you first put them on the GS. I sort of lusted after them ever since. But the cost, ouch! So finally late last year on Black Friday or some similar discount day I took advantage of a small small sale Machine Art was having and got a set of the (still really pricey) hand guards. I was instantly shocked and a bit bummed that they were plastic. I just thought they must have always been plastic and I had it all wrong. I never knew about the design change. Should I return them? Should I sell them? I never decided. They are still in the box on my workbench after all these months. So now after listening to your explanation I think I have a bit more renewed enthusiasm for them and I’ll go ahead and bolt them on. Thanks!
I do not think comparing the cylinder protection and it's abrasion resistance to the handguards is a fair comparison. The forces the handguards will experience in a crash, or even hitting a tree branch are far different from a slide down the road on the cylinders.
