I myself am a collector but I know that the difference between “looking” dolls and “playing” dolls and to turn a doll that was previously a playing doll that got played with to the point it got gross into a looking doll that can be an entirely new piece of art in the collecting world is an amazing talent that I wish I had the patience to get into. Your work is amazing and I want to thank you for restoring these dolls in a creative way :)
Same I was like four and my dolls would end up like this
Agreed
Gross?
@@Tay.Elizabeth0 like this?
@@strxberrycow5273 hair getting messy, on occasion stains, yk how it is with playing dolls
I know some people think that you’re “ruining” the dolls, but as a person who grew up with monster high I think you’re doing an amazing job! Your craftsmanship is always very well done and they always turn out beautifully. I don’t see what your doing as ruining the dolls, I see it as giving them a fresh new life. As always very beautiful work! I love seeing your channel grow and your work grow too! Can’t wait to see who you customize next!
exactly, especially since ive never been one to associate appearance to character. its nice that those dolls got revamped instead of thrown away :)
You said this perfectly
@@frickennuggets2998 thank u!!
I've never understood people who think repaints are 'ruining dolls' - if they're bought brand new they're definitely wanted and used by the purchaser. But if they're from big ebay used item collections or generally found second hand then it's better than them ending up in plastic landfill. Especially if they're broken or have birds nest looking hair
I completely agree
As someone who LOVED monster high as a child, you're not ruining the dolls at all. It warms my heart to see the crusty old hair replaced by new fresh hair and your face designs are amazing.
Same
Ikr! 😌💅
Sameeee, also, I think the characters themselves would be happy to get a new looks, specially from such an amazing artist :)
I’m glad that I’m not the only one who was OBSESSED with monster high as a kid
Yes !
re: people saying you're ruining them. toys are meant to be played with and loved, and customizing them is your way of playing and loving them! and they're beautiful
Yes!
i adore this series. i think seeing a Abby Abominable doll would be dope
Agreed
Aw man, Abby is my favorite. I love her personality so much.
Absolutely!
@@fluff_pup8091 Abby-solutely?
😂! Yes, Abby-solutely
I can’t believe anyone would ever say your art was ruining the doll- your art is so delicate and beautiful, it’s comforting in a way if that makes sense
Shes making them actually tolerable to play with and stare at!
@@teamerbusters yep she’s just fixing the dolls
I really wonder what goes on someone’s head to read the title and then just come here in the video and tell you shouldn’t repaint your dolls. Like, just don’t click in the video if you don’t want to watch it, it’s not rocket science people 🙄 anyways, I’m loving this series so much, I love seeing your take on the Monster High Dolls, they always turn out soo gorgeous. And the changes you end up making in the design always work out and favor the doll’s beauty so don’t doubt yourself and your choices, you’re awesome 🥰 as a curly haired girl, I absolutely love the care you took with clawdeen’s hair. My curls are my pride and joy and most if not all curly haired girls are the same so I really appreciate that. Also, if you ever change your mind about repainting your old Bratz dolls… 👀😍
Maybe you'll get lucky abd find some bratzdolls in not a great state in a thrift shop or sth, then you won't feel as uncomfortable revamping them, since they'll actually need it?
I have to agree with u gab why come to this beloved channel just to hate on her and she is just giving a glow up to a doll that needs it badly. she isn't destroying the doll she hasn't added a hole in the doll for like a tail (which would have been cool too) she awesome. I don't understand people who to such lengths to try and hurt someone who is doing what they love.
I thought this was a hate comment at First but then I did read more
Oh my gosh she’s gorgeous ..I love the face paint and her hair ,the ginger suits her perfectly.I would rather see someone re-paint a pre loved doll than take a brand new one out of a box.You give them a whole new life and they can be loved once again. She looks so much better now than before 🥰
I am OBSESSED!! Those little fluffy ears are everything! She is gorgeous, and the gang looks incredible together! I've always loved the warm tones in OG Clawedeen so I think the warm copper was a great choice!! Ghoulia next hopefully!!??
The ears right? How fabulous are they! 😀
I honestly don't care what collectors have to say,I am living for your revamps, loving see your creative self deliver always a master piece and listening to your amazing creative thought process,I love everything you do!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
People can be so caught up in an imaginary value, i remember the same thing with kasey golden overpainting paintings, people complained that the thriftstore paintings (no one wants) were "ruined".
Im glad to see you dont get caught up with this idea, your work is lovely
So true! My brother is one of those people who think that just because it's old it's priceless... nope. Lol I was lucky enough to get my grandmother's buffet from the 1860s, it had all ready been restyled by the 1920s or 30s, nothing original was left & it needed love. So I put my spin on it & love it, my family also thinks it looks great.
Do u know what anime is the one with the two in the rocks
It's somewhat sweet that people feel so strongly about their old toys...
I remember reading a book, back when I was in 1st grade, that had a young boy as the protagonist... at the beginning he was gifted a doll and because he was a bit of a loner and had no siblings, he'd always just talk to this doll and it actually talked back... they would have all these adventures, as the boy grew older, until eventually, he couldn't hear his friend talk to him anymore.
The boy was sad, but ended up giving the doll to another child, s his old friend would get to play with someone again.
While, in a way it hurts me to see old dolls getting taken apart, it also makes me happy that they're given this new glow, and end up looking just as special as they were to the child tha tonce played with them.
It's bittersweet really, and if there's anything I love, it's this exact feeling... this sad, yet happy feeling of letting the past go...
oooooo its giving chucky vibes, its bringing roberto the dollie vibessss
As someone who has collected and cherished my dolls since a young age I have nothing but respect for you giving a new life to dolls that would have often just been thrown away
you have GOT to do Elissabat!! Your series is everything :D!!
Ohhh she would do Elissa absolute justice! Elissabat is honestly one of my favorite dolls!
Great suggestion!!!
Oh god we need Elissabat. Elegant Romantic Goth icon.
I looove elissabat. I want a collector's one someday
i remember i had the biggest crush on her and i had like five of the exact same elissabat dolls
I'm so shocked that people are saying you're 'ruining' the dolls! I think you're taking the characters which people love and putting your own artistic twist on them, if anything it's a tribute to the original dolls, keep the glorious art coming!
she looks so cute! Im sad that people are saying youre ruining the dolls :( I think youre making them even better! I love them in your style ^_^ my favorite part is what you did with the ears, so wolfy and cute!!
I love the fluffy pupper ears too! SO CUTE!
I'm absolutely in love with the ears 😀
ur not ruining them, trust me😭 you’re giving them this matured look, like detailed dolls from way back. thats why i love them!
This is literally such a beautiful rendition of Clawdeen?? I don’t get why anyone would criticize you for getting creative and interpreting her in your own amazingly stunning way, the way monster high creators probably intended! Never stop making beautiful dolls 💕
If you're looking for another doll, I know I suggested this last time, but Ghoulia could always use some love. As a side note, I do love the minor things you add to a doll, like more piercings or different hair color/style, idk, it really breathes life and personality into them
I absolutely loved this one, today was a bad art day for me, but after watching this, and seeing how you got back up from a failed attempt, it's given me the courage to give another crack at my artwork again, thank you so much for this it really cheered me up!
She just looks so much better this way. I always leaned towards her doll to play or make stories with even not watching monster high, but this hair and all these alterations just suit her so much better.
I really appreciate that they show the mistakes that go into the doll, because mistakes are just part of the process
I never realized how nolstagic I was for these dolls until stumbling across this series. Absolutely gorgeous work, the faces are incredibly beautiful. Subbed within minutes the detail just stole my breath away. Wish I had held on to my old ones now RIP
I actually really appreciate that you use previously played with and well used dolls for these videos. Whenever I see someone buying an in box monster high doll it makes me really sad as a collector, but this is such a lovely way to make use of a toy that would otherwise have been thrown away
I love scrolling into the comments of these videos of yours and just seeing the whole paragraphs of compliments towards you
These videos really make me wish my mother hadn't given away my old dolls...
I never managed to get my hands on a Clawdeen, but I had quite a few... Rochelle being my favorite.
My mom would always get the clawdeen dolls, they were her favorite!
As a STRONG MH fan and an EVEN STRONGER Clawdeen fan, I absolutely love your work! Clawdeen and MH was a very important element of my childhood. I always felt like an outcast, for being over emotional, chubby, "ugly", having bad marks at school, and don't even get me started on the shame of being bisexual, so it was really hard for me to identify with the other girls and share their interests. This is why MH was so important to me, because it made me feel like there was a place for the weirdos like me, a place where we were all stylish and unique, and had fun adventures with our friends. And Clawdeen, being a wolf girl, my favourite animal, was my favourite character; she was everything I dreamt of being: strong, fashionable, loyal, fun, beautiful, fearless, and very purple! haha...She meant a LOT to me as a kid. Even now I still write and fantasize about far away lands with admirable monsters and magic. And seeing both her and the other protagonist turned from my dream dolls to art, my new current interest is just...perfect, stunning, it feels appropiate. Keep doing wonders! ♥
I would love to see you do Abby or Ghoulia next, they don’t get customized nearly as often and other dolls
I loved watching monster high when I was younger, and ofc playing with the dolls, as someone who adores and loves Clawdeen, I think it’s beautiful, it’s an expression, it’s art. You’re not ruining the doll, your turning it into your own creation. I don’t really care about the dolls, it’s the memories I created that warm my heart. So by all means, keep on creating your art, because it is beautiful.
I had a dream last night that I finally got the chance to get into doing this, but my parents wouldn't let me. Kinda sad. I love your style - the softness in the expressions and the beautiful colors are amazing. Keep up the incredible work!
I love this series so much, your style is so calming and beautiful. I just love to have your videos on in the background while I draw, keep up the fabulous work and be sure to get rest and drink some water/eat some food and remember that you don’t have to be perfect every time. And that goes for everyone, take care of yourself and don’t forget to take some time to wind down (maybe watching some etallan while you do). Have a wonderful day. ✌️☺️
I love these revamps! It’s really fun to see what someone who appreciates the characters can do to take a mass manufactured doll and really bring her character to life! Super cute, I love that you went for fur on the ears. If I may, could I suggest a Lagoona doll as a possible future edition to your revamps? I just think her fins are so fun! 😁
I'm very nostalgic about the dolls as they were my favorite toys when I was little. But I love seeing the revamps! It's kinda cool to see them in a new way
I love all the revamps you do! It’s like breathing new life into such beloved characters, and I adore seeing your take on them!
Love the music in this one! Even with the lyrics it’s still really easy to hear your narration, the singer’s voice is so cute and soft that it doesn’t interfere at all!!
I'm absolutely loving this series your doing! Keep up the great work.
I love seeing your visions of these iconic characters! :D I would love to see a Lagoona Blue or Cleo one in the future~
I love your versions of the characters! So cute, and every doll in this series becomes my favorite 💖
Please don’t stop rambling I find it so comforting and so nice to listen to right before bed! I watched your Cleo video and it was so nice hearing you ramble about the history of Cleo and the reasoning way u made her makeup look the way it does! I love it so much :D
I love what you do with dolls! They are so beautiful and still hold their past selves in them. You just bring them new life
as someone who grew up with these dolls and collected them when i got older i think you're absolutely NOT ruining the dolls. you give them a new life and honestly you capture the essence of the characters so well which even the original dolls can't do. i love your revamps!
I love monster high and honestly I love watching and seeing people remake and revamped dolls it’s so refreshing and seeing them in a different style and perspective
I just need you to know how incredibly talented you are. My daughter and I watch your videos and adore them. Don’t listen to negative things- you can’t make everyone happy, but you can do what you love and you can know that you’re amazing and special. You make gorgeous art.
You're giving life back to well loved dolls, and your art doesn't ruin them, but rather enhances and embodies the doll's personality far better than factory paint ever could.
Please don't let negative people stop your enjoyment of creating. This doll was so well crafted and so much thought went into every part. She came out gorgeous!
She really is so beautiful
As a childhood fan and still OG monster high fan, no. Your not ruining them, your making them better
If other people say you’re “ruining” the dolls I say you’re improving upon them!! Your style is so addictive and refined I can’t get enough! Clawdeen was always my favorite of the OG crew 💜🐺
As someone who grew up with the dolls, show, and movies, I think you are doing a wonderful job with these revamps. This is your own personal take on them, and not anyone else's, so embrace that.
As a girl with hooded and droopy eyes, I feel so pretty when you show one of your new dolls
I just want you to know that you're so brave for sharing your insecurities about your art. You're one of the most real and down-to-earth creator's I've been lucky enough to come across. You're an amazing artist and your dolls are beautiful, don't let people tear you down, but also don't tear yourself down! ❤
The doll turns out amazing, I love clawdeen since childhood and seeing you revamp her into something beautiful, it's heart-warming to watch, I couldn't help but smile to the whole video, so thank you.
Do not let people doubt your work, at the end of the day this is your channel, where you showcase your art and that’s literally what matters the most, not to mention every single one of your dolls end up 100% more beautiful than the originals, and in my opinion a lot more valuable, I mean look at them, they’re gorgeous pieces of art, so, keep doing what inspires and makes YOU happy. Have a sweet one! ✨
She looks fantastic with the other girls!! I vote for the Queen herself, Cleo! It would be so cool of you did Lagoona and Ghoulia too
Etellan, your dolls are so pretty! There's such a painterly quality to your work, and never let anyone say that you're *ruining* them. Your work is so beautiful, and you're rescuing these old dolls and giving them new lives. I love taking scrappy, dirty, matted dolls and turning them into lovely new characters, and I love seeing other people do it, too. It keeps them out of the landfill, and they end up being loved and cherished in new ways exactly like you said. This face-up is gorgeous, like always.
I genuinely love this series :)
Your work is incredible, and you shouldn't feel bad about giving these dolls a new life. They have been loved by the previous owner, and you are showing them a new kind of love. You make them beautiful.
i love this serie so much- im so ready for Ghoulia’s time (if it ever is to come)
I myself am definitely a collector and though I do not collect Monster high dolls I did grow up watching it and I did have dolls from it at some point. I love seeing how you can turn a much loved, somewhat crusty and old doll into an amazing piece of art. I was looking at the dolls face at some point in the video and it looked almost like something drawn on paper. It’s truly amazing watching you turn something 3D into a 2D looking pice of art! I love seeing characters I’ve grown up with get an amazing makeover from creators like yourself. Keep up the amazingly awesome work.
Wow! What a beautiful doll 😍
I love the how the hair looks, for some reason it makes the face pop even more! And gosh those eyes are so MAGICAL!!!
HER HAIR OMG YOURE AN ANGEL SHES SO BEAUTIFUL
I love these so much! You know who I would love to see in your style?? A lagoona! She would be soooo pretty
I love this series so much. I watch a lot of doll customizing videos, and I often feel inspired to revamp old nostalgic barbie dolls from my childhood (so that their glamour can match the imagination I had when I played with them). I don't have steady hands, and I already have so many things going on, I'm not sure I will ever get to trying to revamp a doll. This series is in the same spirit that I daydream of being able to do, and it's so cool and satisfying to see the characters come to life!
Just by the cover this doll looks amazing 😩✋
my jaw dropped when i saw the finished hair! the curls are beautiful and the color is perfect!
All these remake dolls are gorgeous! Cant wait to see more! Suggestion: You should totally do Venus Mic Flytrap she is a beautiful monster high character and with your style she will be even more beautiful!
You are NOT destroying these dolls. You are making them even more beautiful than they were. You are an incredible artist, and I'm so glad I found your channel! Also, eff those people lol.
I love seeing the glow ups of the dolls, I e seen many 2d redesigns of them, but I absolutely adore the way you put your own personal touch on them when you revamp them. I think the way you revamp them is amazing and so stunning!
i personally don’t see how people could say your ruining them. i lovewatching these types of videos so so much. watching these amazing works of art be created it’s absolutely amazing. as someone who started playing with Monster High dolls the year they were made (11 years ago i’m pretty sure, so i was 6), i was able to watch the doll series both through it ups and downs. when they changed how they made the dolls i was a heartbroken child and not long after found the first 3 doll custom youtube channels and fell in love with all of the creations. I loved watching them so much that as someone that loves to draw and paint i could see the potential my dolls had in terms of art. at 17 years old, i haven’t see my dolls in years but i still have ever single one of them at my best friends house and she kept all of hers as well. one day i plan on getting my dolls and going through them and i might one day try to repaint one, but for now i’m happy watching them on youtube.
I've always loved the monster high dolls, but seeing your remakes of them make me love them more!
I adore monster high dolls, for playing with and for art dolls and I think your art truly creates it into a priceless collectible at least in my opinion. So much time and love is put into it and the details and so incredible that it’s a perfect heartfelt thing to do to a doll
I’d love to see either Cleo or lagoona next. I really want to see them in your own style
you’re breathing new life into these dolls with each new repaint! it would be one thing if you bought brand new dolls to customize, but showing love to these ones that need it is the difference between so called ‘destruction of a collector’s item’ & showing love & care to older, well loved ones! this one is wonderful, as always - working with what you have is always fun, albeit tricky!
I truly love each and every one of your creations. Your style is so unique and it's wonderful to see these dolls get a makeover in your beautiful way. Ngl, i like them better than the original ones!
I understand where people are coming from when they get upset about you customizing these dolls, but I also understand that these are dolls that were well loved and had a long life before they came into your hands. I see it less as destroying an old design, and more as bringing life to something new. I can’t wait to see more of the original monster high dolls redesigned in your style. It gives them the life and depth that the characters themselves have, while still representing your own style. That’s the kind of art and passion I strive for and love
This revamp was beautifully done, just as the others. I would LOVE to see you revamp Lagoona. I can just imagine how beautiful and awesome it would be
I have absolutely been enjoying this series. I came upon it only a few hours ago but have already watched them all.
I don't think you're ruining these dolls at all, they've turned out so beautifully and I still have my own MH dolls.
A note I wanted to add, I know you were a bit anxious about the ginger yarn for the hair, but Clawdeen in the series is a stylist and she's always changing her looks. To me this just reads as another one of her amazing styles 🧡🧡🧡
Your style on an Abbey or Spectra doll would look so cool!!
I always see revamping old dolls as a form of love for them. It's like giving them a new life. A "thank you".
I am loving this series! Your style is so beautiful and the face up always ends up being immaculate!
Honestly, I adore how honest you are in your repaints. You are honest about your mistakes and making them and that makes me admire your work even more- plus it makes the successes feel so much more rewarding.
i'm so in love with this series! great vid n doll as always!
the fact that you are painting faces with mostly pencils?? With absolute perfection?? What a talent you have, keep going!
Ahhh I love it already hehe
You are more than Jerry- you’re breathing a new, unique life into these dolls, making them more than what they were before. It’s like in the Velveteen Rabbit, love is what makes a toy Real. You are making these dolls Real again.
Beautiful doll as always, hope Australia reopens soon for you.
I’m 17 and growing up as a young kid during the peak of Monster High, I can say for most of us that you’re not ruining the original form. It’s nostalgic to think about the old design and everything regarding its originality, but times have changed, art has changed and definitely people have different interpretations of them now. It’s hard to think that part of my life is over, but I’m so ready to share all of my loved childhood memories with my future family, creating new ones. So please don’t listen to people hating on revamps, they’re just upset that it brings back so much nostalgia. Keep doing what you’re doing, you inspired me to wanna do this. I’m a sculptor, and drawing a 3D face is something I’m good at, I might give this a shot!
the three completed re-vamps look soooo cute together! Also, I think the hair turned out great considering you had to work with what you had :)
These movies were my childhood and I love seeing them redone. I loved watching them and still watch them to this day:)
I have a couple very crusty gross dolls I just Cant bring my self to through them away
To me, you know what the design you gave Clawdeen reminds me of? Her sister Howleen before her change of style from orange hair to pink. It feels like a mixture of both somehow actually (Sorry, I’m not great at explaining my thoughts) I feel this design is very cute! I love the lighter shade of hair and the extra fur on her ears :3
Etellan is a Bob Ross of dolls customisation.
I loved the doll 💖😍
What you did with the hair was amazing it turned out very nice and can you do Lagoona next? I wish you the best :)
I adore that "less of a Sid, and more of a Jerry". 💝
This series is amazing!! Keep up dear, i am LOVING IT! Will you do other MH dolls? Like twyla or operetta?
As a collecter, not many of us, or at least me, don't care about re-paints as long as it's not like going after rare dolls that collectors are searching for just bc "it's ugly"; but I appreciate people who take dolls that have lived for along time and giving them new life.
Do you sell any of your dolls? If so, do you put a signature on the dolls you sell? I think Cleo DeNile or Lagoona Blue would look great by you!!
It's unbelievable to think of anyone saying you're ruining these dolls. That's the same as saying as artist is ruining the canvas. I appreciate toys, collectibles, and keepsakes. But you're taking a used mass-produced doll and adding gorgeous, loving, thoughtful work and creativity. There's no question that you've made something much more special. Even if you weren't "good" at this medium. Art can be created for the experience and the joy of the process, not necessarily the outcome. Nobody has to justify their passions and joy. But regardless, I hope you continue to enjoy the process and thank you for sharing it all with us.
I adore this series! Especially as a big original MH fan. I can’t wait to see you do more, hopefully every Monster High character. Lagoona soon??
You, my dear artist, are the only one to really please with your work. It's lovely!
I love your tenderheartedness too!
OMG this looks amazing! I could never do that 💀
Clawdeen was one of my favorites when I was younger. The care and love you put into all of these is impressive, and I love seeing how you redid her.
