I watched with kids (13 and 11 yr old), I then asked them what are God's commandments, then I asked them to check themselves against the commandments. They were both in tears for how much we all for short of the first commandment. Then I told them even though we do not care about God and His words as much as we should have, Jesus came filled in gap for us, fulfilled the law on our behalf. I was in tears as well. By the law we know God is holy and just, by looking at ourselves against the law we know we are hopeless sinners, by looking at what Christ did, we understand love and grace. This is why we do not judge our days by feelings, by examine ourselves by God's law, then thank Him for his grace.
Well said. And a great exercise to give your children. What an amazing lesson they have learned from that.🙏🏆
God is glorious. Every day that goes by since He saved me I realize this more and more. I still struggle with my guilt but what a wonderful thing to know for a fact that Jesus came and paid the price for our sin, past, present and future.

Beware idolatry. I love Sproul. But he was 1 of many. And he trained many, including my Pastor. Check out OPC and PCA pastors in CA and NV, AZ and TX. Great preachers all over.
Oh how we need more preachets todsy like Dr. Sproul. A true genuine man of God's Word. Thank God we have access to his sermons on Ligonier.

It’s only by His irresistible grace that we can come to Him. And, it is only by His restraining hand that we stand. But throughout Scripture we see and read of events that happen because He is performing His perfect eternal will through the lives of men, saved and unsaved.
Why be surprised when men fall? Praise the Lord it’s not been your turn.. we can not longer stand alone against the flesh then King David did … it’s all of grace and all things working to His glory, honour and power.

We are all guilty
So how do you deal with guilt?
Repentance. Read James 4:8-10, and Martin Luther's first 4 propositions from his 95 theses basically saying that a life of a Christian is a life of repentance. That is how you deal with guilt, and God will lift you up.
Do we still have the sense of guilt, lately?
