      I'm a little appalled at the answers you've gotten so far.
      Allow me to be a little more sensible about the issue without getting too technical.
      The Base and Pro are brute force solutions, they exist to get everything running fairly well, no matter the cost, but that cost can be very significant.
      They run noticeably hot (the chipset), and require the fan on at all times, and it can be heard over lower volume applications on the higher performance modes, with tendency to get louder overtime, as all fans do eventually.
      They also require a lot more energy to run, so the battery won't last as long as it could. (the battery upgrade is pretty much a necessity, rather than an option)
      The Lite is a more sensible and refined product.
      Its the most advanced in features.
      Its the most power efficient. (by a large margin compared to the base/pro)
      Its runs cool, and even under load it won't get very hot at all. (Like Taki said, in performance mode (which doesn't seem to be doing anything significant at this time), the fan runs in quiet speed. I suspect that in normal mode it might not run at all (aka. fully passive...maybe))
      With that said, lets make this clear.
      The Lite IS NOT as powerful, and WILL NOT be at the same performance level even with overclock, but it won't be by a significant margin, and it might be irrelevant as far as the applications are concerned, and it will STILL run at lower temperatures and requiring less power even under these conditions.
      There is good reason to believe the Lite is what the Odin was meant to be from the start, but unsurprisingly there is a market for more higher powered devices, thus the base and pro.
      Whether the Lite will be enough for you, its entirely your choice on what you are actually going to use it for, VS what you would like it to run like (regardless if you are actually going to do it or not).
      And BTW, contrary to what another user said, the Lite >>>IS

    I'm confused. You keep saying "this board" referring to the unit in the video, as if to imply the limitations are issues are due to it being a one-off review unit. But you also mentioned miscommunications about the board specs delaying *production* boards for backers, as if to imply there are production issues. So which is it? It's hard to tell if the missing HDMI out or the broken microSD card reader are issues specific to your review unit or will affect shipping units as well.

    • @TakiUdon
      @TakiUdon  2 года назад

      Specific to this prototype of the board (version b) that was supposed to be retail. All version b boards have broken HDMI, but this one has that + a bunch of other nonsense.
