Эннио Морриконе мог всë что угодно выразить музыкально: печаль, гнев, ужас, смятение, надежду, радость, любовь. Но более всего меня всегда восторгало, насколько тонко он умел передать женскую красоту, внешнюю и внутреннюю. Насколько глубоко он чувствовал, ценил и любил женственность. Он так бережно относится к ней в этой композиции. Будто это нечто очень редкое и очень, очень хрупкое. Великий композитор. Для меня и вовсе величайший. Вечная память легендарному таланту.

Hauntingly beautiful..Monica didn't say much on this film, but each time she was on screen she spoke each and every time with dramatic silence; the boy, knowing that he could never have her, despite his love and passion towards her, finally rewarded at the end when Malena gave him a look back of acknowledgement followed by a Mona Lisa smile..the boy, now realizing the true meaning of romance, moved on with his life, and Malena continue moving on with hers..I have to find this film and watch it again, i am also haunted by it//

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. The short piece of video tells a very sad story. Movies are not like this anymore. Ennio was a master of composition. Monica is a timeless beauty and real life actress.

But actually I was rather talking about the whole movie and the developping special relationship between Renato and Malèna, which is characterized by a deep respect from Renato as he gets a better understanding of the humiliations she has to suffer in a patriarchal society due to her stunning beauty. This is basically what the whole movie is about: a coming-of-age-story in terms of getting conscious about the immoralty of the world and how you can although try to be a good person.
So maybe you should give the movie a chance and just watch it.

I love so much this movie. It's a really shame that films like this are never made again. Morricone was always like a great musical prophet, that God spoke to him through all the wonderful music he made.

Conocí esta película por un anuncio de youtube y la verdad es una lastima que haya pasado 21 años y no me haya dado cuenta de la obra de arte que vi el día de hoy 02 de noviembre de 2021, es una historia que nos pasa a todos, ese primer amor, esa primera mirada de amor, esa persona por la cual uno cometió los actos más genuino y más sinceros jamás se olvidan, obviamente se ven más ejemplos como la cochina envidia, los chismes, la hipocresía, el machismo y la superficialidad. Excelente film.

But there are only 3 of his movie soundtracks I greatly listen to where the music touches the heart. They are The Mission, Cinema Paradiso and Malena. Music like his are timeless, with so full of passion and emotion. It is with movies, like Malena, that his magic, his beautiful work, passion and memory will be forever remembered.

Un film culte et un de ceux que je n'oublierais jamais. La belle Monica radieuse, femme, femelle surtout... c'etait la premiere fois que je la voyais sur le grand écran.
Merci Madame Monica Bellucci d'avoir fait ce film. Je me souviens d'avoir été un garçon amoureux comme ça, avec un cœur immense, submergé par des sentiments qui étaient alors trop forts pour être maitrisés. Merci Monsieur Ennio Morricone pour cette sensibilité touchante qui a fait revenir dans ma mémoire un instant de mon enfance.
Friedrich Ruff oui l'humain est capable de créer le meilleur comme le pire et cette musique en est la preuve. Juste l'entendre sans connaître le film et la trame peut faire surgir des souvenirs d'enfance aux relents de paille et campagne. Nostalgie d'une époque où l'insouciance régnait en maître

Such a beautiful movie, that corresponds with the beautiful composed music from Morricone. I travelled away back to my youth, when I watched the movie. And I thought about some of the girls, that I was dreaming about back then. Ofcause they were unachiveble for me, cause I was so young, without experience and knowledge. As we all are in that age, but we are always allowed to dream … .. .

I cherish Morricone's music...this has to be one of my most favorites of his....he so easily can make my heart cry such big tears...yet at the same time so tenderly kiss those tears away....his music expresses such deep love and emotion...and breaks down all barriers to the deepest layers of my soul.....
