First heard this song when I was 14 listening to Coast to Coast AM. Art Bell used it as bumper music. Later on I heard the whole song on the radio and got it on a cassette tape. Learned all the words and got in trouble for singing it in church youth group. Tried to annoy my parents with this song but it backfired on me when they started singing along to it when I blasted it from my stereo while they were home
Gotta love Golden Earring...much like the legendary Focus, they're one of The Netherlands' greatest exports, and considering all the great stuff that comes from there, that's really saying something! On a personal note, my visit to The Netherlands back in 1995 was a total BLAST! I was there during the run-up to the 50th anniversary of Victory Spring, when the whole country celebrates their liberation by Canadian troops. Being Canadian, I couldn't even buy my own beer...every time I reached into my pocket, someone said, "Forget it, it's already paid for."😁 Every Canadian should visit The Netherlands at least once in their lifetime...I promise you'll never experience a warmer welcome anywhere else!
My dad was Dutch and became Canadian in the early 60s. It was the greatest honor in his life. He happily kept his Canadian citizenship even after being in the USA for 40 years. He always spoke well about Canada.
@@errantstitch9220 When it comes to Canada, there's an awful lot to love! Not only are the people usually very warm and friendly, but the scenery can be nothing short of breathtaking. I've been from coast to coast in this country, which is only slightly smaller than Siberia, and I've long since lost count of all the epic scenic views. From the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, to the Alaska Highway and Whitehorse in the Yukon, to the Trans Canada Highway from coast to coast, there are literally millions of things to see and do here. No matter what you like to do, you'll find plenty of things to keep you busy in Canada!😁
my dad's ex-wife's daughter went to canada after she got divorced from my dad. she said it was the last thing to do on a boring voyage toward the sun. i mean i would have tried too but you can see why it wouldnt work. are you going to drink that?
You’re walking through the halls of a crowded hallway either at school, or in an office building. You feel your whole world shift, you tumble and fall. You feel your body shifting with the world. You fall for what feels like forever before opening your eyes. You’re floating in the middle of space. You can breathe, yes, but where are you? You start to walk forward, feeling your entire body being pushed by a force, like bullets hitting bone. You then stop, and see a giant figure. You feel the world shake. You then wake up. _You’re stepping into the Twilight Zone._
April 2024 You must read A Trace of Memory by Keith Laumer(1965?) A ways into the book, in a South American (?) city, at a tall building, you will find yourself reading the words that came to mind as I read your comment. And there see why I sent you to Laumer.
I used to time my night runs in the mountains by this song, if I couldn't make it stop sign to stop sign before it ended I'd turn around and run it again.
OZARK: I imagine Wendy hearing this song while she was driving to the madhouse feeling like she was losing control in her life, family and her plans. I think that she's a hot mature woman.
Original name of the song was When the Bullet Hits the Bone..Record company advised them to change the songs name because of the violence reference..And so we have this renamed Gem TWILIGHT ZONE!!!
For all the folks knowing this and Radar love through being international hits. Give 'When the lady smiles or 'Quiet eyes' a try, both great tunes among many more
One of the greatest songs ever made.
Perfectly written, perfectly performed and perfectly mixed. Just brilliant!

One of the most memorable songs of the rock era TURN UP THE RADIO!
As a freshman computer science major in college, we played this song in the computer lab while working on our computer projects. Amazing song to work to. Hearing this song takes me back every time.
This is a song you accidently speed to when it's on the radio. It hits different at night when driving.
I was JUST thinking that the other day when I heard it on the radio.
I’m my opinion, one of the best rock songs of ALL time.
I start singing along every time it's on the radio and I'm driving. Turn it up with my windows down. Don't care who I'm annoying on the road with it
I like to intentionally speed in the car to this song !! 😎👍
Especially when it’s 2am

The guitar solo in this one song makes this a better band than 99% of the corporate techno-posers today.

Same here; heard it on coast to coast and was seeking it out till it fell in my lap one day. Great stuff!
😎
I LOVED Art Bell. What a cool radio guy.
You have cool parents.
I remember my dad teaching me this song when I was like 6. It was the early 00s then and now I'm 30.
Timeless, ageless, never gets old, always on my playlist.......As great a song now in 2022, as it was in the 80s. 💕 Cool video too
Indeed! I listen to it very often.
There are some songs you NEVER get tired of. This, Stairway to Heaven, ANY Rush song, Hotel California...
Much more polished than Radar Love. Different producer? Killer tune. 80s.
One of the GREATEST hard rock songs of ALL time.
There are many brilliant songs and this is one of them. It always touches my heart and drives me to tears. Music of my life.
I loved this tune ! Been forever since I’ve heard it
Written about a fictional character(from the novel, this predated the films).
