God of War is an action-adventure game franchise created by David Jaffe at Sony's Santa Monica Studio. It began in 2005 on the PlayStation 2 (PS2) video game console, and has become a flagship title for the PlayStation brand, consisting of eight fully fledged games across multiple platforms: God of War Ragnarök, God Of War: Ascension, God Of War: Betrayal, God Of War: Chains Of Olympus, God Of War (2005), God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta, God Of War 4, God Of War 3, and God Of War 2. GOW is based on ancient mythologies, the story follows the titular protagonist, Kratos, a Spartan warrior and later the Greek God of War, who was tricked into killing his family by his former master, the original Greek God of War Ares. This sets off a series of events that leads to wars with the different mythological pantheons with his son Atreus. Today Doctor Wagner, from Experts React on Gamology will be watching and reacting to God of War all cutscenes injuries in games and the best healing mechanics in video games including the Kratos Vs Odin Boss fight. Do you play GOW on PS4 or PS5? Have you seen the new God of War Ragnarok trailer? Could you play the plagues of plague inc? It would be interesting if you explained all the symptoms,Also, in case one day you are going to play the game, you can also upload it to the channel in Spanish? I am using the translator since I don't know how to speak English so much, sorry
Spider-Man movie injuries!!
Yes plz!
YES
Definitely should do a video on a plagues tale, and Days Gone
What Heimdall did, was he used magic to create a construct arm, but from what I've seen, Bifrost magic uses the cold, so he basically just frostbit the stump, probably sealing off the bleeding until the body does it's thing.
I'm sure if he lived long enough, it would've grown back, like Tyr's arm.
Bifröst is translated as "burning rainbow bridge" from Old Norse. The keyword is "burning". He basically cauterized the wound while simultaneously regrown his arm.
In game, Bifrost can be uses as a Status Effect that causes the one infected with it to lose a significally chunk of Life with the next attack
@@eduardomunoz4387 You instantly burn. Makes sense
So Bifrost has nothing to do with actual frost. The word is a combination of Bif and Rost and roughly translates to shining path. It more so is pronounced like “beef roast” than “bi frost” from what I’ve heard. The shining path refers of course to the Rainbow Bridge so I like to thing that the Aesir and Einherjar are harnessing magic in the rainbow
That moment when the doctor is not only just seeing an arm explode, but he is also impressed on the graphics of the game
When Odin met Mimir he drank from a well that Mimir had laced with magic mushrooms that made him trip balls. For some reason his hallucinations drove him to try and dig his own eyes out, but Mimir kept him from destroying both. It's odd it never grew back because Tyr managed to regrow an arm he lost when subduing Garm. And digging his own eyes out wasn't even his craziest moment. At one point Odin impaled himself on his own spear and hung himself from an Ygdrassil branch. He spent several days dead and wandered the lake of souls before Ygdrassil itself forced him to return to life. One of his nicknames was Lord of the Hanged as a result which isn't as amusing as his other nickname All-Fucker.
Odin implies that he lose his eye after trying to take a peak in a crack in the fabric of space to try to obtain the answers to the secrets of creation
@@eduardomunoz4387 he lies
@@eduardomunoz4387 liars lie
@@eduardomunoz4387 that's what all druggies say
The story with Garm was made up for this game.. the actual story was with Fenrir.. and Tyrs arm never grew back.
I've no idea where Heimdalls bifrost arm powers come from either I'm sure it doesn't make any sense and was just made up by the game developers to make you feel like Kratos is going to lose and die. But who knows?
Okay so I first found this guy through his Brewster videos, but I gotta admit there's something oddly entertaining about him explaining these injuries and the science behind them
😹😹
He ripped his on eye out for information
A couple things:
In this Universe Odin removed his eye after he took some psychedelics, which being from Florida, I can absolutely confirm happens.
A scene I think youd chuckle at, which happens directly after the first scene you showed, is when Thor uses his hammer as a defibrillator because he nearly kills Kratos and uses this as a crude CPR method
Another version of how Odin could have lost his eye (which isn’t the one that happened in the games universe) is because he went to Mimir‘s well and wanted to drink some of its water since it granted the one to drink wisdom. Mimir wanted a trade and suggested that Odin gave him his eye which he did. The funny part however, is when Odin drinks the water, he gains the wisdom that trading his eye was not worth it.
@@sonario0074 Odin says in the game that he lost it trying to look into the secret of creation
@@bradleybarnett1469 I think in the previous game Mimir said he gouged it out cause of the psychedelics, which is why he took Mimir's eye when he trapped him, something Mimir suspected he knew all along. Showing what type of person Odin is, he might have been lying to Atreus, or possibly the developers forgot and rewrote the reason. I honestly suspect he's lying to Atreus, though, possibly not wanting to admit he was tricked.
@@bradleybarnett1469 he’s lying
Mimir mentions this in the game world
@@bradleybarnett1469 Mimir said in 2018 that he was tripping balls and gouged it out. Which is probably true 😂
1:47 uuuu que buenos graficos
I love how he describes *spear* injuries perfectly, but when its an axe hes like “idfk lol”
Скандинавские боги в "God of War": мы можем изобрести магическое оружие, но не можем изготовить протезный глаз для Одина)
Stoked you covered this video! I’d suggest the Batman Arkham series as there are plenty of injuries in those games
Glad you enjoyed this God of War reaction! Thanks for the suggestion :)
Damian - so you won’t kill them but you’ll cripple them and give them brain damage
@@DoctorER wha is your opinion on the injurys from God of war ragnarok
The spear "blew up" Heimdall's arm, so it could've cauterized the wound(Hence no bleeding)
But the spear uses wind magic and not fire magic. so it explodes in an explosion of air if that makes sense. no way for any burns to cauterize the wound
@@adriankaka80 so, the shockwave of an explosion without the fire, yeah
@@NickAsNickName Having it being a shockwave make even more sense, since the spear was made with specifically the *sound* of wind. (It's dwarven magic, don't ask how it work)
@@adriankaka80 air can be extremely hot too tho? So it can to maybe cause things from minor burns to possibly (“if hot enough with magical dwarven mermaid god human Sparta blood”) cauterizing wounds ?
@@kevinsamayoa4557 While possible, in-game Draupnir has no status ailment tied to it. It CAN siphon fire, but that requires either the enemy be attuned to fire(like Draugr) or be under the effect of burn(via the Blades of Chaos)
I love when doctor’s only critique of a game is “this person should be bleeding a lot more than shown here.”
Bonus Fun Fact, if you walk back to the location where Kratos punches Thor in the face it is actually possible to find the tooth he threw away just sitting on the ground
You love it because basically the game is pretty realistic besides they don’t bleed a bunch
Last Action Hero is something you could react to from injuries involving gun shots, electrocution, and car crashes

A Total Recall would be a great video for Doctor ER to react too lol
But those are just flesh wounds!
Hearing Heimdall scream in pain was probably the happiest I’ve ever been ngl
true he got what was coming to him. to be fair I hated him just by watching other content creators play the game.
I'm a little disappointed that the doctor missed the scene of Kratos' resuscitation. I am always interested in the opinion of a specialist in such cases.

This game is freaking brutal. So much stabbing, hitting, and breaking.
It isn’t meant to be a happy and fun game for everyone
@@fushiguro........ oh no I absolutely love it. So many games that could be like this, like the Batman Telltale games, are way too tame. This is my favourite game I’ve played this year, and I’ve never played the old ones.
And the funny part is that in this game kratos is trying to be less violent I think but he's still... yknow
@@lyebatenkaitosofgluttony2452 oh yeah, he’s WAY less violent than in the other games. Remember what he did to Hercules, or wing feet guy?
@@PaganMin671 thank you
I like how he's explaining it to you like it's gonna happen to you someday
Man that punch against Thor was legendary
You should do a reaction on the older Greek god of war games(if you haven’t already), they are VERY brutal
Doctor er was so focused on the graphics that he didn’t notice that heimdalls arm just exploded
Odin is often seen wearing an eyepatch in works of fiction portraying norse mythology but the story is that he actually sacrificed his eye for a drink from Mimir's Well, which gave him the enlightenment he sought. So basically, not so much an injury but more of an elective removal.
Dr. Wagner should host his own version of the game awards with categories such as "Goriest game", "Most anatomically accurate game", etc.
Can’t wait for part 3!
Man this guy should react to GOW 3
Odin took out his own eye, in order to gain more knowledge......Odin is kinda crazy
That was way more entertaining than I thought
This is the coolest and the most chill doctor i have ever seen 🤠
One neat little detail when Thor pulls out and tosses his loose tooth, you can find it later in that battle arena
Gotta say, Heimdall deserved all of those inquiries for how much of a jerk he was in the game.
Plus, that's mercy from Kratos, considering that he's no longer his young self. Imagine what young Kratos would do to him, like what he did to Hermes.
young Kratos would definetly gone for those eyes - they're like Zelda game weak sports!
I really hope to see you react to the cartoon Primal one day. It has a lot of fight scenes and injuries, but also medical and health related moments
What’s it about?
@@DoctorER It's about the last Neanderthal in a brutal and unforgiving prehistoric fantasy world. You see a lot of things from different eras colliding like dinosaurs and mammoths, but danger comes from not only giant beasts, but also disease, starvation, and other human groups.
That would be awesome to see! I'd personally want to recommend the web series Hunter: The Parenting as well, for it has some fight scenes with detailed wounds. And also its small sister series Half-Life: Zero Viscosity. That one does not really have injuries, but it *does* showcase the effects of different fluid intakes on a human body, and a quick allergy treatment procedure.
Er doctor: fascinated about odin having an eye patch
Heimdall: casually getting murdered
Although This is educational i find it funny how you explain all those injuries haha. Thank you for making this video!
Odin didn’t injure his eye, he sacrificed it
Noted!
This is so interesting thank you so much keep uploading doc 👍 also the reason why Odin has an eye patch is because in the Norse mythology is because he sacrifices his eye for more knowledge.
not in ragnarok
@@ionobru I know, and I’m not saying that- I’m saying why he has an eyepatch

What bothers me the most is something so small ended up killing Thor.
Wouldn't say Gungnir spear is something small tbf
@@SOoFlyy_o When you consider that to the Blade of Olympus and how Zeus survived multiple stabs in the torso from it, then yeah it seems small.
@@randomrobin7773 well I mean Zeus is the creator of his own weapon the blade of Olympus so maybe that gives him some leeway? 🤔
@@SOoFlyy_o Or it could be the Norse gods are a lot weaker than Greek ones.

I like how they are talking about the injuries when the characters are LITERAL GODS AND CAN HEAL ALMOST ANYTHING.
Yeah but he’s looking at it in an objective sense so it’s not boring for the viewers. Can’t just go “they’re gods, so no point in talking about injuries here”. Then you might as well have just not made the video (which I’m very glad he made)

With the hammer strike to Krato’s face, he actually dies and the game shows the death screen, but you hear from Thor “We are done when I say we’re done” and then Thor uses his lighting through the hammer as a defibrillator to revive Kratos and continue the fight. It would have been cool for Doc to see that part, the parts where Thor take Kratos to fly, or the conclusion of the Heimdall fight (which is only a few seconds longer than when the video got cut off).
When no one's coming to your clinic
"I say when we're done!"

That last punch Thor was talking about how Odin had some “stuff” to do with his son
Odin usually has only one eye in most mythologies involving him, this eye was basically burned out when he tried to gaze through something. The thought of an eye just burning with fire is not a pleasant one
