I'm late to the party I know, but I'm just curious about your take on this since your a huge TQ fan (like myself). Are you buying into the narrative that other ARPGs players are pushing, that TQ2 will be a "souls-like" ARPG (like the more recent "No rest for the Wicked") more so them a traditional ARPG like the first game (so focus on stamina management, i-frame dodge rolls, more focus on skill based combat then gear/stats checks,...etc.)?
Just curious because I see a bunch of ARPG heads loosing their minds about this particular blog post saying they are getting "souls-like" feelings form the working. I think they are overreacting and kind of forget how slow and methodical TQ originally was before the anniversary update years ago, but I just wanted your take on topic.
Still can't wait for this game btw ;)

@@TartarusPyro I agree. If people want a Titan Quest game with Souls-like combat, they can go play the Achillies game (its a decent game, if a little repetitive).
I'm kind of tired of people who never liked the diablo-like ARPG genre in the first place pushing for them to morph into souls-likes. Its like they don't realize they are 2 completely different sub genres and people play them for 2 completely different reasons.
I would not mind more skill based combat with but if its souls-like with stamina management, and i-frame rolls, it will ruin the reason I play these games.
No Rest for the Wicked is a clear example of why these 2 genres don't really mesh well, and its because it completely diminishes the RPG mechanics, Stats, itemization, and many other CORE aspects that make diablo-likes unique.
I personally think people are over reacting with the souls like stuff and they seem to forget that TQ was always a more slower paced diablo-like. We will all see for the gameplay reveal, but along as it still looks and feels like a diablo-like game I will be happy. People forget that even GD (one of the best ARPGs in the genre) added a dodge mechanic and it does not ruin the game or turn it into a souls-like game at all.

@@TartarusPyro I personally loved Outward, but at the same time I knew it was a stamina based survival RPG and not a diablo-like ARPG. I personally like souls-like combat systems, but NOT in my diablo-like games as I play them both for different reasons.

if you are refering primarily to the Aaron RPG video(s) for TQ2, he's simply uninformed, drumming up buzz words and clicky thumbnails and titles with frozen in the middle Hot Pocket takes. None of the blog posts have me worried about TQ2 or the direction the game is going.
