    correction:
    shielded enemies can be primed or detonated with any of the anti-shield biotic abilities and passives for massive damage even on insanity. also....shockwave can be upgraded to do armor damage, and therefore deals massive armor damage if they are primed first.
    my setup for insanity adept profile....shockwave with reach and anti-armor, singularity with anti-shield, Lance with anti-shield. My N7 armor, all biotic recharge and power augments....all passives selected, Ryder, is a biotic GOD!

    So, upgraded:
    Incinerate
    Energy Drain
    Shockwave
    Are all both primers and detonators, allowing me to have access to 3 different combo's based on what I use first. This gives me combos for shields, armor and base health... This would also give me 2 back to back combos.. example,
    Use Shockwave to set up a biotic combo, hit em with Incinerate, which would set off the combo and prime them for a fire combo, then smack em with energy drain to set of the second combo. You could change the order around to determine what 2 combos you want to hit with, like start with Energy drain to take down shields hit them with Incinerate to set off the tech combo and then shockwave to set off the fire combo.
    Sound right?

      with most of the primers you need them in the red but with singularity they can be armored or shielded as long as they are in range of the singularity you can use a biotic combo on them

    Well there is a way to get Tech, biotic and fire combos with just one load out. Go with energy drain upgraded to be both primer and detonator. Then do the same with incinerate and finally throw or shockwave. Now you can do whatever needed combo against any defense. Shielded enemy toss energy drain for tech primed and then detonate with throw or incinerate. Need to strip armor with fire combo. prime with incinerate and detonate with throw or energy shield and finally toss a throw and prime for biotic and detonate with any aforementioned powers. Now you can do combos all day long with constant explosions and deal with anything. You can also upgrade both throw and incinerate to shoot out two throws or incinerates at once hitting two separate enemies. Imagine just toss incinerate and hit two standing apart and then toss throw and both hit for fire combos.

    I run with a pretty overwhelming build. That is Charge, Energy Drain, and Incinerate. Were Energy drain and incinerate are upgraded to prime and detonate. So the combo goes: I incinerate, then E-drain for a fire combo and tech prime, then charge for tech combo. Also since E-drain and charge fully recharge my shields, I'm pretty unkillable 😇😈

      From the sound of it, I'd say you probably should do it the other way. E-drain into Incinerate to take down shields, then go into fire combo with the charge.

  • @LlamaMaster8
    @LlamaMaster8 7 лет назад

    Another interesting note is that the EMP effect from the Engineer's combat drone passive counts as a primer for tech combos. I run that profile with energy drain, incinerate, and cryo beam, using the E-drain/incinerate tech combo for shielded enemies, cryo/incinerate/E-drain for cryo combo followed by fire combo on armored or unshielded enemies. The E-drain also synergizes really well with some of the offensive tech and auxilliary systems for survivability through recharge resets and increased shield restoration

  • @robertmay6319
    @robertmay6319 7 лет назад

    I've been running Overload with Lance to get the Tech combo... which I've never had a problem achieving. I didn't know until your video that overload isn't a primer! Hope they don't patch it! Add flak cannon with the explorer profile and you'll train wreck all the enemies!

  • @MrSilentj16
    @MrSilentj16 7 лет назад +1

    At the moment I'm really enjoying throwing out a singularity, charging in to detonate (and recharge shields), using energy train to detonate as long as they are still inside the singularity (which also primes for a tech combo, as well as recharges shields), and then charging again since the cooldown is so low and detonating again (also recharging shields).

  • @singjai108
    @singjai108 3 года назад

    Great video. I'm definitely going to refer new players to it.
    I like the Human Vanguard kit in the multiplayer. Having your powers on separate cooldowns allows it to make use of all three powers (6-6-6-6--1 build) and they do seem to affect armored targets with relative ease. (The game credits me with the combos.) When playing the Daily Challenge for biotics, I can get most of the points I need without firing a shot, on a single bronze solo vs. Outlaws. Charge-Nova-Shockwave takes down Berserkers, two iterations of that leaves Hydra mechs with the barest sliver of life.
    I tried Annihilate-Charge earlier, but sometimes, just moving around, Annihilate seems to shut off on its own.

  • @camolog
    @camolog 7 лет назад +38

    13:09 That's not entirely true. If a Shielded or Armored enemy is standing in a Singularity AoE and a Detonator hits them it'll trigger a Biotic Combo. This happens even though Singularity has zero effect on Shields and Armor.
    As far as I know this is the only exception to the Biotic Combos.

    • @kayleecake9759
      @kayleecake9759 7 лет назад +6

      Annihilation also does this.
      Which allows an amazing combo with lance specked to use shield. Prime enemy with annihilation, Use lance, Kill target inside annihilation proccing shield return, repeat with no cooldown. Toss in a charge for more shield regen and you're good to go :)

      CamoLog i was gonna say this XD

    • @loki76
      @loki76 7 лет назад

      CamoLog . Also I think you can spec singularity to actually do damage to shields when exploding in combos. singularity works to toss out in an area even if the enemy is shielded it just doesn't work with trapping them and since singularity is an effect on its own that is what you detonate in biotic combo. The enemies standing in the singularity field is basically just collateral damage in the explosion.

    • @MRPB54
      @MRPB54 7 лет назад +1

      Loki 76 I throw it to shielded enemys and just lance em quick and usually the shields insta drop causing the singularity to trap em

    • @MRPB54
      @MRPB54 7 лет назад

      JV2017gameplay yes singularity triggers biotic combo no matter if the target has shields or armor as long as its in the singularity area of effect you can trigger it.

    I use at the moment the Adept profile with charge, annhalation and lance.
    Charge for mobility and shield recharge, annhalation as the primer and lance for detonate.
    The playstyle is like the n7 fury from me:3 multiplayer
    Its still work with the vanguard profile (much safer) but adept do a lot more damage.
    Actual skills with level 28:
    Charge (3*bot) radius, extra power, shields
    annhalation (3*top) for more radius, more damage and shield recharge for kills in the radius
    lance (3*top) for radius, extra shield damage and it has no cd but it drain my shield.
    Passiv skills:
    Barrier (3*top): extra shields and shield recharge by biotic kills
    Offensive biotic (top,bot,top): more damage and lager aoe-effect
    containment (top,top,bot): radius, shield damage and radius
    I play on hard with that setup and dont really need my guns. Its funny to play but you need to calculate what you can do.
    Last tip: use the asari sword. You can dodge with meele attacks damage and gets extra mobility.
    Have fun to try it

    Sentinel with Cryo beam to prime, Incinerate to detonate and prime, Throw to detonate. That way you can detonate cryo or fire as throw has a very low cool down and you can " detonate chain" with cryo->incinerate->throw-> repeat. Just be sure to spec incinerate to also detonate and throw to lower cool down. I recommend taking a gun with electrical conduit to help with shields or be willing to switch profiles to something with overload when lots of shields show up.
    Throw is the best detonator due to its crazy fast cool down. If you spec it right and use cool down mods you can get it to 3 second cool down. Sentinel will give you armor, buff combo damage, and speed up tech recharge to keep up with how fast throw cools down. You will melt armor. I can incinerate someone, cryo someone, detonate the incinerated person, detonate the cryoed person, and repet. You will never have to stop detonating. Just look out for shields and be ready to switch to an anti shield profile or weapon.
    Extra Note: Take peebee as she can prime for biotic combos if you're lucky, but honestly not having biotic combos never seems to matter. You could replace cryo beam with a biotic combo primer like singularity or energy drain for tech combos if you want thow but you wont have as fast of detonation chains.

  • @shinvon

    I use the Adept profile because of Biotic Echoes with a vanguard type set up. Launch a singularity to prime, then charge in for the explosion, nova to kill anything else that is still alive or to prime again for another charge, then detonate the singularity for more damage with its rank 6 perk. Much splosions.

  • @DangerKnerd1
    @DangerKnerd1 7 лет назад

    My current setup is Charge, Nova and Energy drain. I do both tech and biotic combos on demand. On my second playthrough i'll go for Energy Drain and Incinerate, speced to both prime and detomate, to give me Tech and Fire combos on demand. I'll combine that with Tactical Cloak or a tech construct for 3rd skill.

    Singularity upgraded to explode with lance and throw to detonate is insane for groups of enemies, even shielded ones. Singularity -> throw (biotic combo+echos) -> lance (Biotic combo +echos) -> then explode the singularity to wipe out 3-4 enemies. Throw is upgraded to more damage on combos.

    My go to for powers currently is because I'm wielding the Black Widow and Sidewinder. Tactical Cloak, singularity (the one that expands by 200 percent over time) and lance. Use tac cloak first then unleash singularity into a group if they are shielded or armored follow up quick with lance then all the previously shielded start floating, black widow finishes them. Usually have enough time on singularity to unleash another lance, goodbye armored opponent. Most encounters end inside of a minute. So far only fiends, hydras, and architects last longer.

    Great video, this is better information than I would have expected in a professional game guide that would have set me back $25 or so. :)
    Just a thought: The last upgrade of the singularity power might actually be able to detonate. In ME3 my human adept used to set the enemy up with Singularity and detonate it with Shockwave, then detonate Shockwave with Warp and if I did it all correctly the Singularity would explode and detonate Warp.
    I'll let you know if that still works. Thanks for the info once more.

  • @QrazyQuarian

    The thing I like about Biotic powers is that when you detonate, it deals lots of burst damage. You mentioned the problem is that most powers don't work against armor or shields. I have it set up so that I can take chunks out of heavily armored/shielded enemies with no problem using my detonation abilities. Adept can be king on the battlefield if you utilize powers correctly.

    One other source of tech combos I haven't seen mentioned a lot- The Engineer profile's Combat Drone primes enemies for tech detonations when it explodes, in addition to doing damage and stunning humanoid enemies. The window to detonate is kind of short, like overload, though, so this might be a bug if overload isn't actually supposed to prime either.

  • @haobinmeover

    My favorite combo is my Relentless Vanguard Melee combo. Vanguard Profile, Asari Sword equipped, w/ Nova (w/ Primer upgrade), Charge, and Singularity:
    Toss a singularity to prime, go in for the charge to detonate, back away and attack w/ asari sword bc Charge gives melee bonus. Then go in with a nova then charge again to detonate the combo then repeat and when my singularity expires, it explodes in an aoe explosion. I love Vanguard so much. best way to play personally, but to each their own.
    I never messed w/ the tech abilities but Incinerate looks promising, I'm probably going to implement that in my second playthough.

    I was having a lot of trouble early on especially with Anointed Kett until I respected into Cryo beam, Energy drain, and Overload. I and from my experience at least early on playing on the hardest difficulty Tech combos are the most useful just because of the AI. Anything with shields (that isn't a sniper) tend to just not really care about staying in cover and will just walk around to flank you while soaking up multiple reloads worth of ammo and then murder you in about 5 seconds, so for that reason being able to rip through shields IMO is the most useful.

    using pull, an upgraded incincerate then concussive shot will give you a back to back biotic fire combo on red bar enemies while still be able to use fire combo on armor and concussive shot/sniper to weaken shields... i flip between soldier and explorer depending on if i need more gun or tech damage

    Ive been playing mostly tech with sentinel profile. I use overload, energy drain, and incinerate. After having all of them maxed out, They all prime and detonate, so after applying the first effect I can just chain combos back to back to back. Then I have the upgraded passive that lowers the cooldown of tech powers every time I use a tech power. Clears rooms pretty quick lol.

  • @1501abe
    @1501abe 7 лет назад

    There is a beast triple combo within the tech profile. As mentioned in this video, both Incinerate and Energy Drain can be skilled to prime AND detonate targets. However, the video does not mention their full potential:
    Use Incinerate > Energy Drain > Overload in a row to deal massive amount of damage within seconds. This will trigger a fire combo followed by a tech combo since Energy Drain will detonate Incinerate and prime vor Overload at the same time. This is effective against health and armor.
    Vs. shielded enemies, use Energy Drain > Overload to trigger a tech combo that does extra damage to shields. That said, triple combos are possible but ineffective vs shields.
    This is not my own advice, I took that from Minus OC's channel.

    You forgot about the Energy Drain/Incinerate combo. Both can be upgraded to be both primers and detonators. Combine that with a tech construct or Tactical Cloak, and you have a borderline OP Engineer or Infiltrator that can do both fire and tech combos on demand.

    I've been rocking Adept my entire playthrough. Throw Shockwave and Singularity. Singularity spec'd to produce massive AOE and some duration, throw that into a crowd and then hit them real quick with a throw since it can bend and has good reach to set off chain biotic combo. While my singularity is recharging I have my shockwave spec'd to prime so all the stragglers get lifted then hit with another throw to do more biotic combos. Also I have the one ability in one of the biotic passives that replenish some of your barrier when biotic powers are active. Playing on hardcore atm is pretty easy with this build might bump to insanity to see if I can handle it.

    Doesn't the Engineer Profile's Combat Drone emit a Tech Combo primer when enemies get near? I seem to recall that happening before Energy Drain and Trip Mines were high enough level for me to actively prime them

    overload+incinerate(primer and detonator) makes first combo(tech), then concussive shot makes a second combo (fire), combine it with Fusion Mod of Adrenaline (recharge powers on kill) = a combo machine

    Think about incinerate and energy drain though, you can replenish your shields while also putting out substantial damage. Energy drain is great for survival ability

    Best combo (or at least the most entertaining) is definitely an Incinerate prime, followed by Pulling the enemy to you and then Throwing your burning foe at another enemy. You basically turn enemies into grenades. I've tried a lot of builds, and by far had the most fun with this.

    I like the "combo" combo, where I do singularity + lance and then overload + lance for a consecutive combo. It is great in killing grouped up enemies because all 3 skills hit multi targets. Together with adept profile the extra explosions this could be more devastating

    Adept: Singularity and shockwave is my group destroyer!

  • @Tentacl

    My to-go combo is Singularity into Overload. AoE primer with chaining detonator, both CC units without resistance, Singularity dot field is always useful.
    To specific fights I'll just use better primers to destroy shield/barrier/armor. I keep a max level [SPOILER] Remnant VI [END SPOILER] when possible to ease the cooldown widow disparity and also because it's great to grab aggro and allow me to snipe.

    u can also use drack as a squad mate with the passive that gives him fire combo prime on his hits

  • @mastercats
    @mastercats 7 лет назад

    You missed something. Annihilator and singularity actually (at least pre-patch haven't messed around yet) prime any target shields/armor/health. Note on annihilator, while in the charge animation your technically not in the game, so you can't use charge+annihilator to set off a combo. This makes biotic combos kind of your jack of all trades primer.
    For the biotic primers that don't prime through shields. these can be set up such that they do massive initial damage to shields, and if they take down the shield they will then prime.

    My current favorite combo? Incinerate on a group of enemies, charge with AOE to detonate, melee the closest enemy with the remnant cryo gauntlet, then nova. Most devastating combo I've personally encountered yet

    Throw out my massive aoe singularity and follow up with large radius throw and overload. All the extra explosions from running the adept profile results in insane dps and awesomeness. I've been sticking to a mostly mid to long range character with the zalkin for burst fire but its damage is a little lackluster tbh. Considering trying out some vanguard or sentinel play styles soon tho since the skills i use are maxed out. Explorer blink looks awesome as well.

    biotic
    Charge with shield regen at 6
    Annihilation with vortex at 6
    Lance with shield powered at 6
    Or sometimes I replace charge with Energy Drain.
    Most fun
    Pull. drain shields at 6
    Throw, increase duration at 5
    Charge recharge speed at 6
    Pull towards you and regen shields while using the enemy as a shield, throw enemy straight up in the air, charge at him. Hover and shoot, then charge downward from the sky

    i use singularity and either lance or throw. so long as you have damage over time on singularity then any enemy affected by it, regardless of shields or armour will be able to be detonated.

    Overload to prime with Lance that cost shield then hit them with one more Lance and when your shield is depleted use charge to regenerate shield and hit them with a melee and you'll be unstoppable.

  • @QrazyQuarian

    I prefer Throw over Lance because of its CC. If enemies are unarmored/unshielded, it knocks them prone. If not, it makes them stumble out of cover and I can more-easily target them (usually). However, Throw is most useful when used in tandem with Pull, or as a detonator. I like having Throw because it cools down quickly and I can use it to destroy the battlefield when used in tandem with Pull or Singularity.
    Lance is also a great option, but I find its abilities to be kind of bland. It's just straight Biotic damage. Not thrilled with it, but it's not a bad option all around. I have Lance in my main preset with Throw and Singularity.

    i feel that incarnate and energy drain is the better combo over incarnate and overload. Incarnate and energy drain has more survivability and if u do energy drain first as a primer then set it off with incarnate it does double the dot. energy as a primer makes it a tech combo making it so that electricity runs on the ground, but since u detonated with incarnate it keeps the fire dot on them also. Making 2 dots while they kneel for a quick stun. It's the best combo i have see yet, and most def helped me on insanity with the huge amounts of life the mobs have.

  • @THEYCANTSTOPME

    My favorite is pull + throw for launching enemies into orbit. My go-to loadout is pull, incinerate, and throw with the adept profile. It's very good for chaining combos, but not effective against shielded enemies. Perhaps I'll make a new favorite with overload instead of incinerate...

  • @Fisherfan48

    For big enemies (Fiend, Hydra, etc.) I go Cryobeam, Overload, Concussive shot. I get two combos (Cryo and Tech) and they get slowed and weakened by Cryobeam.

  • @rodeafro

    i use overload/lance and incinerate/lance I don't understand why you talk about overload being hard to use as a primer, i only found out it's not listed as one in your video (i generally charge overload which i guess might be what makes it easy to prime?)

    hey there what you said about biotic combos is wrong. You need to affect them so you can prime everything using singularety (shielded or armored enemies can walk away so be careful) and I think annihilation might work as well but I don t like the skill so I haven t tried yet

    Overload, Singularity and Lance. Overload gets the shields down then throw Singularity to prime for Lance for a detonation. If Singularity isn't up use Overload and Lance which results in a Tech-Combo with the right timing. I guess It's like kinda abusing that Tech-Combo bug but ayy who cares. Great cc and perfect if ur dealing with multiple enemies. Make sure to skill the imploding part of Singularity for extra aoe dmg. HF

      Robson Waterkemper Yes, just tap the button instead of holding. Unsure how the game never states that. It's a straight shot so beware of obstacles.
