      it's not too soft, it's too low. maybe soft, i can't know exactly since I'm not in it, but i would lean more toward saying that the scraping is because of it being too low than too soft. i mean the softness or the hardness of the suspension play a role into how the car turns in, if the turn in is good, as misha said and is quite visible through the video, i wouldn't say softness is an issue. you could still tweak it a bit and make it a bit more hard, but you need to jack it up a bit first. the cooling issue is to look after as well. nice car man 👍

  • @bane2
    @bane2 Год назад +381

    Misha should have a questionnaire he gives people before doing a lap. "Is your engine modified for more power?" followed by "If you answered 'yes' to the previous question, have you upgraded the cooling capacity of the vehicle?" and ending with "Have the brakes been upgraded to handle additional heat from repeated hard braking?" Great lap as always, these kids were amazed that a Clio could hang with much more powerful cars on the track. Once again proving that the greatest mod is a driver mod!

      Do you drive around with a fart tune to impress your mates?
      Do you think suspension is not important when you spend all this money on a down pipe, brakes and flash tune?
      Do you think estimating HP at the crank is anywhere near real wheel HP?

      Exactly, and most aftermarket intercoolers for the Clio 4 move the intercooler from the side to in front of the radiator, which is usually fully open to airflow. Only Wagner's goes in the same spot as the stock one as far as I know.

      I don't think that's true. Certainly "rubbing" has been in common use in racing since the 50's at least.
      But the phrase "rubbing is racing" doesn't really exist before 1990.
      The phrase was probably inspired by a 1988 interview on the new Phoenix track where Dick Beaty said “is going to be a ‘rubbing’ track. I’ve got no problem with rubbing. That’s racing. What I’ve got a problem with is when one guy spins another one out intentionally.” @@onewheat

      @@michieljansen6633no hate and just a bit of advice from Trophy owner to another. not only stock radiator is your issue here, speaking from experience. Mk4 with airtec (or any) fmic block the flow to the entire radiator resulting in easy overheating. Only reasonable choice is to go for a Wagner one which fits in the stock place thus not blocking the radiator. With the mods yours had done to it, a larger radiator is not necessary at all. Swapping out the crappy designed Airtec for the better design Wagner would have been much easier and completely fixing your problem and also more cost efficient with selling the Airtec one for instance.

      Such low ride heights are BS. 1 or 2 cm higher don't make a bit of difference as far as handling is concerned; actually might be beneficial, slightly longer suspension travel for bumpy track. It's just for show and/or because the owners are uninformed.

    • @5ShotProductions
      @5ShotProductions Год назад +1

      @@stoneeh Thank you my unknown friend! 👏🙏 That‘s exactly what I was and still am thinking 👍 Yeah, a low ride height looks most often cool, but sadly quite often it is simply put: Rubbish 🥴😉
      My first BMW (E36 328i Touring) was deep as fuxx (I bought it with that lowered suspension) and it was quite good to the point where I met bumps in the road, or steep ramps or when I was driving with more than two passengers…
      After that car my cars (all BMW‘s) do have the very moderate M-suspension (which is mildly lowered) and I’m happy with that height. It looks „sporty“ enough but you won’t have any problems or get in trouble with it.
      And don’t ask me about cars with an Airride system where it‘s cool to slam the car on the ground… 🫣 I really don’t like it 🥴
      BUT, and that’s the beauty of cars: You can build and drive them the way YOU like it. But as we saw in this video, a really low ride height won’t make you faster on the track.
      And KW shows it very often: You can have a suspension in your car which is low „enough“ and VERY fast and well balanced 👍
      Okay, that was my „rant“ about low cars, sorry for that and sorry if I stepped one anyone’s foot (virtually speaking 😉)
      Best wishes, Philipp 👋

    I think Misha would drive even faster with Clio 3.
