In my classes we've had a lot of successes with EPK... koundinyasana is very accessible to most with proper cuing

Most new students doing their first balances lack the strength to keep the second elbow free in side crow...
Also, kakasana (crow) has bent arms, bakasana (crane pose) is with straight arms... so you're teaching kakasana and parsva kakasana... not bakasana
