Could a dagger really stop a cut from a sword? Yes, if one were fast enough it could parry with the dagger, but would that be enough to stop a full swing with a sword?
They're using 5th generation Hanwei Hand-and-a-Half swords. Their length is 110 cm, the blade 87 cm (at least on mine, the specs may vary on each sword).

complimenti per i video molto illustrativi, però ce da dire una cosa, i coltelli che utilizzate non hanno le lame affilate, alcune di quelle tecniche si possono fare solo indossando l'armatura cioè bracciali con le protezioni alle dita comprese (cioè le classiche armature medievali), sfido chiunque a fare certe mosse a mano nuda senza protezioni con coltelli però affilitatissimi, anche perchè ora... che sia epoca antica o medievale o moderna, quando vai a combattere usi coltelli affilatissimi mica roba che non taglia nemmeno una mela. comunque a parte questo i video sono belli e molto illustrativi oltre che interessanti.

Se la lama non si muove non taglia. È così semplice. Se non si muove nella mano si può usare una presa tipo "croce di bastardo", colla mano debole sulla lama della spada, anche a mani nude.

How so ? Mind you that alot of daggers back in those time are for thrusting only so the edge is not that sharp or straight up blunt. Defend against medieval daggers are very different from modern knife

I guess their technics of grasping the blade are okay as long as they are wearing tough gloves .
True, but also as long as their hand doesn't slide along the blade, it won't necessarily cut them.
In the heat of the moment, get a cut inside the palm is nothing compare to a chance to stab the opponent in the face, that's a good trade off
