I grew up working in restaurants. I know how much it takes to be a waiter/waitress and what they go through. When I eat out, especially at places I habitually go to and I have a favorite waitress, I like to surprise them sometimes by not only tipping them well, but giving them a gift card from Starbucks or their favorite store. It makes me feel good and lets them know that I really appreciate them and what they do. God Bless.
Thankyou so much for this amazing reminder Jack ... I'll remember to WOW my clients, friends and family... and hope to be WOW'd in return. This made me smile and feel good! Thankyou!
I've been complaining about how hard it is to get healthy and be at my ideal weight, but I've also been taking the easy way out and ordering greasy takeout several times a week. I just need to get into the habit of cooking at home and making the right choices!
You can definitely do it. There's way less pressure taking a little time to food prep one day of the week and carrying healthy snacks in your car and purse. The quick stuff then, is like a weekly treat, than a convenient habit. Way to go, you got this!
I love this Power of Now! And I loved you mentioning Hanoch McCarthy. He spoke to a body of us educators years ago and I still review those notes from time to time and in fact just posted one of his key concepts on fb at the beginning of this school year for my teacher friends. The concept of Power of Now reminds me of Success Principle “Exceed Expectations” and the acronym BUMPER is a great way to remember all the components to exceeding expectations! Jacquie Freeman
I love this concept! It got my mind racing about creating Wow factors for my friends and family. My current Wow goal is to take my Mom to Italy next year and pay for every bit of it. But maybe I could get immersed in the culture and find things she'd love to do there as well! Thank you for the inspiration as always!
Hey, this is really great! There's a question I've been wondering about for a long time. Customer service has always been a big deal for me and I've been quite successful in many of my service jobs. But once I heard someone making negative comments about a person I know and said they were 'pandering'. That word sounds kind of nasty and I was curious and looked up the definition. I was shocked! The definition for pandering was the stuff I take pride in to make my customers happy. Can you please explain the difference between good customer service, and pandering? Thanks!
This video was both fun and funny. I have to think about next steps related to complaints, dreams and how to approach both. I try to look people in the eye and be in the present moment with them. Sometimes a simple comment which is sincere is good. Sometimes a joke is good. I made a joke up to a customer who happened to be an engineer an inside joke. He laughed so hard he wrote it down to tell his sons also engineers. What's funnier as I am not one. Anyway, for now

I’ve been complaining about my workplace without committing to a goal with a date to leave and pursue my dream job instead.
Sounds like Disney.
