I love Piney’s dialogue. He’s just an old man now who’s original idea of love and brotherhood is now so twisted and gone that he’s given up. Then he thinks Jax can be the one to finally make it happen and has to realize, AGAIN, that it’s not gonna happen. It’s like having your heart broken all over again
Yeah, with all that history bottled up inside and no good way to let it out it was rough on old Piney. I always waited with baited breath for Opie to kill Clay over this... bittersweet plot armor.
It’s why i quit my local fire department. It was once a brotherhood where we all spent all the time we could together fought fire. Then a new chief came in and he tried to make it like a paid department. Rules regulations blah blah blah. That had nothing to do with fighting fire just a big dick swinging contest
@@nikkimiddlekillsday5161 The MC still had brotherhood and everyone did love each other just look at season 1-2 it's only after stahl framed opie that everything went downhil, piney was just a bitter old man hating on the new MC
4:02 That tap on the arm was as good as a hug. Piney was awesome. His voice is on par with Morgan Freeman for me. Better even. I could listen to that old legend read the label on a soup can. ^^
This story is so sick. Jax' way how he had the heart in the right spot, wanted to change things like a naive Cartoon/Anime Protagonist in a fairy tail story but realizes that this reality in such a cold , brutal World doesn't exist. After that realization he wanted the only commom sense thing, leave, but the events after negated it & destroyed him, and he changed. He was now driven in the Abyss & self-destruction. Till he drove deeper, deeper on the ground without comming back. In the end he knew there is only one way, and he made at last A few decisions for the better. Only in death he somehow reached his goal. He made a sacrifice that was neeeded to reach an impossible goal. That is how you write a good story, sacrifices for the greater good.
Jax understood piney but hated him defending his dad both trying to fix damage but it truly done. And piney knew but couldn't tell him clay killed his dad
Jax wanted out of SAMCRO in season 4 and came so close to leaving but because of that cartel deal he had to stay. Just when i think im out they pull me back in -Michael Corleone
Basically piney looking after his other son he knew he had John in him and could have made it right but became conflicted with all the shit he had to deal with and see
They didn't drag up anything Maureen Ashby shoved those letters in Jackson's bag before they left Ireland in season 3 she hated Gemma so much she wanted to expose the truth about John to Jack's
It's funny to watch this show and see that they keep on their patches, the vest, all the time :D Even at home. I make tattoos for 2 members of the Hells Angels, and it's quite rare to see them wearing the vest. They don't walk around at home wearing it :D I've made tattoos for their Vice President for 6 years, and I've seen him wearing the vest like 3 times I guess... He uses it always when he's on a bike. But he takes it off at home, or when he comes at my place for a tattoo. Yes, they are members of the Hells Angels, but they don't have to display it 24/7 everywhere... He's usually in a t-shirt and sweatpants at home :D No need to wear the vest there...
It honestly varies from club to club and even chapter to chapter. I know guys that are members of the Outlaws in the east coast and for them the patch stays on around the clock
I love this show and I still binge watch it but a lot of things are contradictory. Like history. It was 20 years ago, and you still want revenge yet they want to turn things around, but that means no revenge. Like Bobby said its about not how to hurt someone.
When jax put his head down he was like Dammit old. I know you loved my old man but it hard for me to understand him. Piney knew jax wasn't mad at him. Jax was in the thick of things he knew the cartel was heavy. But also knew if they played it right it could be a win for the club to cash out . And go legit . It turned out to be a nightmare
Well how can he seperate the club from his family his Stepfather is the President his Father was the founder his Mom hosts all the dinners and things for them and his only source of income too that's why Opie rejoined he wasn't making enough money at the sawmill had to turn to crime and Jax was practically like family to him too. Tara was a doctor made good money if he really wanted to start over just with her and the kids he should have and if she wanted a normal non violent life she should have left him too but I guess that wasn't in the script.
I can always see it from both sides. Piney needs to leave the past in the past and Jax should never try and be like JT. He should've gotten out when he had the chance. I just can't believe the way he was disrespecting his half sister Trinity. What did she ever do to him?!
@@seanynosheep72000 Jax actually has it too Gemma said so in an early S1 episode maybe the first I don't remember. I wonder how many people remember this since I think this is the only time it's mentioned
I don't believe that jacks or any of the other bikers wherever good people they all put grown men and a bad cause in front of their wives Children and Families any sort of organization that expects you to put them before your children is not an organization that I'd ever want to be a part of
Clay wasn't a racist at all actually, if you rewatch the show he be-friended a black person in jail, he loved juice (he was half black), he respected Laroy and he also formed an alliance with a black MC. Piney was far worse.
Not really shows like shameless and everything else on air has stories all over the place, this one at least gives you a backstory or makes you feel for the characters
"We all do damage, character's determined by how you repair it" - That´s probably the best and realest quote in the entire series!
"We all do damage, character's determined by how you repair it" damn powerful.
Shows how much Piney believes Jax can fix the damage that has been done to the reaper

Opie even said to Jax they needed to get rid of Clay so they can get the MC back to what it was supposed to be

John Teller once referred to Piney as his oldest and wisest friend. And he truly was...
Amen to that 🙏🏾
This scene is significant because this is Jax telling Piney that for the first time hes not putting the club first. Hes putting his family first.
Yeah right

Loved these two when they were onscreen together, was damn near poetry

“Sacrifice”
IDK the Mayans MC TV Series showed in alot of ways his sacrifice was in vain sadly

ALWAYS LIKED PINEY
RIP bill lucking😢
Not me, he's bitter and racist also destroyed the club trying to threaten the GOAT Clay
Before you let your oldman die, you should find him, and know him for yourself
Piney was such a wise man. He was like the uncle Jax never had.
This is Charlie Hunnam's best acting performance throughout the show.
Jax wanted out of SAMCRO in season 4 and came so close to leaving but because of that cartel deal he had to stay.

I agree on opie but piney was a racist and bitter.
Absolutely
Jac was correct
Dragging up the past with JT and the letters destroyed the club
