+Sasa Sasasa You don't have to time your jump perfectly like in CS, that's just some crap valve came up with to prevent bhopping. Just hold jump before you land. Airstrafing technique is also a bit different, but basically you gain more speed if you curve in air.
That jump trick at 5:50 was incredible.

On a historical note, it turns out Rogue Squadron never began their attack on the star destroyer. The ship blew up because of a chain reaction caused by lightsaber damage throughout the interior, which though seemingly random was actually precisely calculated.
Who needs force speed when you have speed speed.
Excellent run. My favorite part of this run is when he just grinds his lightsaber into to Tavion during every part of the spin attack. I literally stopped the video and said, "WHAT?"

It took me 2 years to find that little underwater tunnel on Yavin IV near the crashed pod.
Ben Olson I remember finding a way to glitch out of the map instead of finding that Damn tunnel. I really liked this game but the level design was crazy annoying sometimes.
This is the original speed of Kyle Katarn, but Raven Software actually slowed the game down, so the people could see and understand anything of what's happening in it.

The Jedi Knight games are known for secrets and over complicated level design. I never finished the game either. Only made it halfway of that garbage level.
I was 10 when I finished it but in no way was it easy, hell no.... I got stuck at Artus Prime for a while, then again at Lanico Bay and in the Yavin Swamps. I remember it was my birthday when I played Yavin Swamps mission, I was so pissed that I literally started to cry..... yes, CRY.......
I was 7 when i played this game, never finished until i was 13 years old.

Probably the best parts of this speedrun are Stormtroopers shouting, "DON'T MOVE"
It started off as a demand and devolved into pleading.

hardest thing I have laughed at in a while is the effect Kyle's lightsaber-through-the-head has on Lando's mood at 19:17
this video has made me realize that Kyle is a better Jedi then Luke, look at those stunts. Also makes me wonder what speed running looks like from the NPC's perspective, if they could think they would be both terrified and confused

I just recently replayed both Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy for the first time since 2004. In the last two weeks and I have to say that I thought Outcast was better. While I thought multiplayer, force and swordplay were enhanced in Academy, I felt that Outcast had better progression, more challenging levels, didn't make me cringe as much in the cutscenes and just felt more satisfying. Especially ending that annoying asshole Desann.

Sergeant Novak One of the main reasons why Outcast is better than Academy is because Outcast doesn't have that stupid shit Rosh in it.
+slackingstacker Also because Academy has lightsaber from the start it does not feel as challenging. You also do not rely on puzzle solving or force powers as much in Academy. And the maps/levels are much more linear in design compared to Jedi outcast. The only thing Academy has going for it is it's amped up lightsaber mechanics which made multiplayer a blast to play. But who cares about multiplayer when you can have such epic single player as Jedi outcast?
There’s are mod that has Jedi outcast gameplay for academy, and you can download a bunch of mods for it too

I was playing it recently and replayed again but with mods
I absolutely adore this game, and what you have accomplished is nothing short of remarkable.
This was so hilarious and amazing to watch. I thought I’d summarise some of my favourite parts:
- Using a mine to push the imperial officer hostage forwards
- Spinning a thermal detonator
- Chopping Katarn’s head off with a spinning activated lightsaber
- Spinning nothing
- Using force push/pull on the droid
- Jumping on top of a sith in cloud city to jump on top of the stage
- Killing sith by holding lightsaber inside their body
- Somehow defeating the shadow troopers in a couple seconds by pushing/pulling them (took me about 3 hours to defeat them on Jedi knight difficulty lmao)
Sorry I don’t have time stamps but just watch the whole thing, you won’t regret it
35:13 - the end has always been my favorite part of the game. Access to any insane weapons with maxed out force powers. The stealth mission was awesome too. THIS WHOLE GAME WAS AWESOME. If you haven't played this game, you must.

You've never played The Jedi Knight games? They're some of the best Star Wars games! I preferred Jedi Academy over this one, but they both kick ass.
plastic14407 I remember playing this game when I was like 11 on the OG xbox, and I hated it for some reason. Seeing it now, as a fully matured retro gamer, I realize that this game is sooooo much better than I gave it credit.
kirbeh51 I played it too and i remember hating it. I think it was because in the first one you get your powers and lightsaber at the very start and it this one you need to go through a lot to get it. Was also confusing seeing as you were your teacher from the first one but only had a stun baton at first
I played this one when I was younger, and I had lots of fun, but I got stuck at some point really early on. Never beat it.

Star Wars DF/JK speed runs are hands down some of the most entertaining speed runs out there.

God, this game is SO fucking good, even still. I barely remember playing it as a kid, because I was so young, but I did play it and Jedi Academy to completion and they're _definitely_ my favorite Star Wars games out there so far, with an unlikely chance anything else will surpass them. I bought the $200 Star Wars pack on Steam for like $14 recently, so I look forward to trying out the older Dark Forces games and a few others.
