I have been seeing that the quality of items coming out of China has taken a nosedive in the past couple of years. The fact that it wasn't all that great to begin with, speaks volumes about what is going on now.
The quality of items from china have never been good. They are getting desperate for customers since so many companies are pulling out because of the ccp.
Helpful review. thanks. I have a newer Frozen Empire Slimer but it was 29.99. This looks great, but thanks for pointing out the issues with the rushed production of this classic Slimer character. Sorry to see those issues with the arm most of all.
Mine didn’t even come with the darn screws. Lucky not many scuffs. The right arm gap was so horrible when he arrived. Instead of returning it (which I probably should’ve) I modified the rods for it to align perfectly. Grinding, welding, and cutting was involved. Did they send you the replacement without you having to send yours back?
That's insanely low quality for $200, let alone $400. All of the construction errors aside, they couldn't even afford bubble packing for them. I'm sorry you got scammed
I got the early one too. Everything seemed fine for me. I took it to an event the first weekend in Oct, then Friday I went to use it and nothing, absolutetly nothing worked. I called about replacement electronics or schematic to fix. Told it was past the 30 days warranty and mothng they would do. Now i have to find someone with electronics knowledge to see if they can fix it. Glad I got it at the intro price. If I had paid the current price and it stopped working after a month, I'd had been 10x more mad. Halloween costumes has good intentons but they keep dropping the ball on quality.
Halloweencostumes even lied that the prop was supposed to play an audio track of Slimer's sounds from the first Ghostbusters movie recording to the demo video of the prop in action, the released model's audio track later on instead just makes noises done by an impersonator. (4:17) (I might be the only one who has notice this lol) And the fact the released model later removed the battery compartment option from the prototype (which can be seen without the "No Battery Function sticker" via stock images from the site) felt like a sudden slap on the face for people outside of the US who would've wanted to get this working without adapters due to regional issues.
My first thoughts were it's probably made in China(?) But, somewhere out there someone has one that is perfect! You just weren't that someone. Bummer! Sorry it happened to you Tom 😢
Good question. Their website says it is made by them and they are in Minnesota. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it's made in China FOR them. I'm not sure though.
What an overpriced piece of junk! I can't believe the comments saying that you should accept the first one or piece the two of them together. No wonder things are in the state they're in!
Depends how much you want it? I know it's not the point but the first one is a easy fix to reset them screws so it's flush, but yeah really poor considering it wasn't cheap it's the way everything is going nowadays quality seems to be diving.
Not worth even if is a dollar. Probably was rushed to make money desperate stupid people that will pay anything, & the company probaly figured that one out.
I'm only a minute in...but anyone paying $200-400 for these costumes are being ripped off...but you know what PT said. To each their own with their own money, but I can think of just about anything being more worth someone's $$$. I saw that faulty shoulder joint in the first 30 seconds. Going back to listen to the rest now.
If it were in perfect cosmetic condition and worked as described, I believe that the original price of $250 was reasonable. $400 is way too much though.
I ain't fraid of no ghost except this one.
Scary bad.

Yes, poor quality control. Whoever made it, just didn't care.
Pretty much.
Glad I watched your video before I bought one! Thank you.

No problem!
VERY LEGITIMATE complaints , good video
Thanks! I think I was fair in my critiques.

Yeah, the poor packaging is crazy! The arms and panels were just floating around in the box.

Good points. Thanks for watching!
can you make one good one out of the two?
I don't think so. They were both messed up in their own way.
now they are priced at 542 bucks. and only one left till you return yours.
Unbelievable
That company slimed you twice.
Sure did.
My first thoughts were it's probably made in China(?)
But, somewhere out there someone has one that is perfect! You just weren't that someone. Bummer! Sorry it happened to you Tom 😢
Hard to say where it was made. They advertise it as being made by themselves, but that probably means made FOR them in China. I don't know though.
Oh man I laughed hard when you turned on the second one. What a farce of a product 😂
Yeah, the second one being worse than the first is ridiculous.
Were they from RI?😅
Minnesota, apparently.
why did you not put two nice arms on the working motor?
The right arm was bad on both of them.
Obviously no quality control there!
Very poor quality control at least.
Wowww that's sad. Unreal. Hopefully you have no problems returning both for full refunds
Yes, I just got my refund a couple of days ago, so it's all good. Thanks!
Slimer: scary for all the wrong reasons.
Exactly.
Interesting 🤔
Thanks for watching.
Im sorry Tom, you shouldn't have to deal with that 😔
It's behind me now. No big deal, just annoying.
Might be factory seconds, quality control seems absent, and packing is really lacking. If it's made in China then no surprises.
Definitely poor quality control.
That sucks man, sorry.
Yup. Not a big deal though, as long as I get my money back. Just annoying.
made in?

It's rubbing on the box
Terrible packaging
Yes. I think the metal frame was also gouging it. Horrible packaging.
Spirit Halloween has the good stuff
Seems like. I'll have to see if they have anything worth buying instead.
Thats pure trash....
I was definitely disappointed.
Terrible quality, I'd return both.
I agree. That's what I did.
What an overpriced piece of junk!

Yes, in hindsight, fixing the first one myself would probably have been the best thing to do. Oh well.
Very disappointing, Tom. Just not good enough.
Yes, very disappointing.
The first one is good enough
Nah, not with the scuffs all over it.
I get what you mean, but I'm a collector and I don't like damaged items, especially when I'm paying $100s for them.
Exactly.
Should of used the head of the original and the left arm of the new and see id its better
Maybe.
Not worth even if is a dollar. Probably was rushed to make money desperate stupid people that will pay anything, & the company probaly figured that one out.
@@PatricioCharlieI have some swamp land in Arizona for you! 💰
I did get a feeling that it was rushed.
@@fleabittenadventures That's what it feels like from most people, maybe.

I completely understand why you are pissed i would be too
Yeah, very disappointing.
I would love to buy one of those second hand and rehaul that ugly little spud i would make it look like a $600 dollar GB prop
Me too. If it were much cheaper, I may have kept it and tried to fix it up myself.
