My wife and I went to Disney World several times as pass holders between 2018-2019. Crazy to see so many spots that we enjoyed just disappear. I'm grateful we got to experience that still-magical Disney World one last time before it all went downhill. But I'm also heartbroken that my two toddlers won't be able to experience what we grew up with.
I miss The Muppets store in Hollywood Studios. It was one of the last places that had a wide variety of Muppets items. I guess GenX is the last ones to remember much about The Muppets.
You missed some biggies like River country, the original Diamond Horseshoe Revue, Treasure Island/Discovery Island, Wonders of Life/ Cranium Command, 20,000 Leagues, ExtraTerrorestrial Alien Encounter, Stitch’s Great Escape, Wings of Man/If You Had Wings, and what about some of the resorts that never made it off the drawing board: Asian Resort, Persian Resort, Mediterranean Resort, and Venetian Resort. That was kind of funny. They set up these large planters to hide the painting supplies. That was perfect for my video, made it look even more abandoned than usual lol.
Just some of the missing off the top of my head: the original Muppets Store in Hollywood Studios, Amani Village Traders next to Refreshment Outpost (they've painted the doors with murals but haven't opened the shop back up), The Gift Stop, the small store located next to the old Guest Relations area at the front right of Epcot (closed Jan. 2020 and never reopened).
I miss the health pavilion most. I think it is a beautiful building with potential. To me, a great idea would be to bring back the Mickey and friends,in their spacesuits, dance show that was popular in the 1980s and 90s in the odyssey building. The building can fit a lot of people, especially in bad weather. That would be maybe a temporary area to have periodic shows throughout the day, till imagineers establish an attraction. Or permanent/ long term if the show is successful with positive feedback. That show would be perfect for not a high budget, and work to go into it. One of the best things, I think, would be, that it would bring nostalgia to the guests who were lucky to experience the Mickey and friends show in the odyssey building. The main goal of this show/attraction would be similar a similar concept to Disney Junior dance party in Hollywood studios, where little ones can get their energy out. Or maybe just revamp it and put in a quick service restaurant where you can have a quick meal and a show like originally in the odyssey building. Generally, that pavilion is good real estate that should not be wasted.
You’re right. It’s so sad to see it just sitting there unused. I was in there about 5 years ago and it brought back a lot of memories. Like being nauseous on Body Wars lol.

Even though I live nearby, and use to be an annual pass holder year after year, I have not gone to the parks since 2016 or 2017 so I had no idea that several of our families fav shops had closed and it makes me sad. IMO when I go to a theme park or mall and see many places sitting closed/abandoned, I know there's something wrong. It shows that mall or theme park is hurting for customers, and Disney did it to themselves by their greed. There are not enough rich people visiting the parks year round to keep them thriving.
