  • IT'S OUR ORLANDO TRAVEL DAY! We're heading out on a budget solo trip to Orlando Florida for Walt Disney World & Universal Orlando staying at Rosen Inn Lake Buena Vista.
    We're taking you along for the ride as we jet off from London Heathrow to Orlando, Florida. We're flying out with Virgin Atlantic economy class and flying into Tampa International Airport this time rather than Orlando International Airport.
    We'll show you the full process from Heathrow to Tampa including airport process and flight itself with the plane and the food onboard. We'll also take you through the process at Tampa International Airport and hiring a car.
    We drive from Tampa to Orlando stopping at Walmart in Orlando along the way to grab some snacks, Denny's to grab dinner before we check in to the Rosen Inn Lake Buena Vista where we'll give you a room tour of this budget hotel just around the corner from Walt Disney World.
    Enjoy!

    You should have had at least one day at the beach. 🏖️. The Gulf coast waters are beautiful 😊 Also the seafood in that area is great!

    Got yourself a new subscriber mate! Loved the video! Can’t wait to see more of your holiday to Orlando!
    We stayed there at Rosen Inn in October 2023, and while I thought it was okay, it was very basic and could do with a bit of an update! Very good for the money though if you’re on a budget! Disney hotels are extortionate!
    Thanks for the upload mate!

      Thanks so much for watching! Means a lot!
      Absolutely agree with that assessment, the room and resort are very basic! But for the price you can’t beat it, the Disney hotels have really priced themselves out for a lot of people!

      @@ABritTravelsdeffo agree with you there! The location for the Rosen Inn was perfect too! So close to Disney and Universal! You can’t beat it for the price! I would deffo stay there again though!

    Unfortunately there are no direct flights from Amsterdam to Tampa (just yet), so I'll be having a layover in Atlanta. Since I've been flying out twice a year, I got Global Entry, which is brilliant as you pass through immigration within minutes AND you get TSA Pre-Check, which allows you to go through security without taking anything out or off 🙂 It's currently still $100 for 5 years, but will go up to $120 later this year.

    • @ABritTravels
      @ABritTravels  3 месяца назад +1

      That’s unfortunate you can’t fly directly into Tampa! Atlanta is pretty good airport though!
      Haven’t thought about Global Entry before but that sounds like a great deal if you visit often enough!

      The immigration is much quicker than in Orlando! The hotel is pretty good, food isn’t Michelin Star but it does for a quick meal right? Have an amazing time!

    When we go as a family of 4 for a 2/3 week trip we stay at the lake Buena vista resort village & spa which are like sort of apartment rooms with 2 bathrooms and 2 or 3 bedrooms, has 2 pools one which is much smaller and quieter has a washer & dryer in etc. and then use that as a base for WDW / universal etc…
    When we went just 2 of us for a week in 2019 we stayed at that exact hotel you are in in this vlog and again for a base basically just to sleep in it was fine.

    • @ABritTravels
      @ABritTravels  5 месяцев назад +1

      I’ll have to check those out! We do like having an apartment, very useful to save a few £! This was a perfect resort for sleeping, good value and close to everything!

      Thanks very much for watching! I think this time I have yes, I only went to Disney property 3 days so $90 on parking, car hire was around £250 for the week and meant I didn’t need Ubers to get around, the hotel was around £500 for the week and staying on property would have been about £900-1000 minimum so I’d say overall I’ve saved but every circumstance is different

      If you’re looking for pre paid, I would say check out Revolut or post office, both have some good offers, my preferred would be Revolut personally ☺️ you can top it up as you go, store money on there for months and you get a great rate too!

      Sadly I’m not at a point yet where this pays for itself, it still costs more than I’d like it to but we often use airmiles for flights to reduce the cost as much as possible
