Actually, the mod has been in development for almost as long as Bf3 has been around but it takes a really long time to develop the toolkit when the EA devs closed the entire game to any sort of 3rd party customization.

I had so many damn hours and countless nights up until 3-4AM with the friends playing BF3. So many nostalgic memories around the game. Wonder if I can get my friends to come back for this...
The faces are obviously dated but damn without that blue filter the game everywhere else really holds up well. I still don't understand to this day why they went with the blue filter and were so adamant about you not turning it off.
Artistic vision DICE has always been a bit full of themselves. They view their games as "art" and dont like the idea of it being tainted of changed from their original vision. They imagined the battlefield to be rough and grey and blue and if we dont enjoy that there is something wrong with us and not with their vision
They used the blue filter to give everything a grungy, rugged undertone. The urban combat looked more bleak, the desert honestly looks like one's mental image of shit like desert storm without seeing the footage, and the snow looked like a whiteout. To be simple about it, they used the blue filter to desaturate and add to the shade without tweaking the actual color of the map. Guess they thought going for the big screen movie approach was a good idea
It's a promising start. I'm not sure if I'd get into it, I'd have to see how big the actual community ends up being and how consistent it stays. PR's got a very consistent community which is why it seems to be staying alive. Will this be a standalone or is this going off PR's original "need to own BF2" to play. I know it might not be possible but that's probably a huge difficulty to grabbing a lot of attention straight away
Its BF3 with a mix of PR:BF2, it should be easier to get to in theory. PR:BF2 its a complicated game to get into so PR:BF3 might have more players, just my 2 cents

Woah, BF3 modding? Well, looks like it's time to shake off the dust of my copy. I never expected this to really happen, but I always hoped. As for me, I would like this modification not to become too overloaded, as BF2PR has become. In an effort to make a simulator, the team of the original modification almost squeezed all the fun out of the game. My personal opinion, of course, but I have seen many people who share the same feelings. But of course it's up to you to decide what it will be. I also saw a project about AI, in development by other people. It would be great to see cooperation between your teams in the future, or at least some compatibility. Lost faith in EA a long time ago, but such things from the modding community are truly pleasing and inspiring. Great and talented people save the day, as usual. I wish you the best. P.S.: Skin selection is pretty neat, really love it! Competent use of native assets.
Squad is in the Main Stream at this point imo, what the fuck are you talking about? I don't much care for the project itself, and how many squad players will never know about the game that honestly is responsible for it, but it's great that it's fairly popular. Hopefully the PR teams can use that as fuel to compete against Squad and hopefully bring new attention to these great mods once more. Prbf2 is not dead, but it does concern me that soon it may be on its last legs.

Venice Unleashed is a modding SDK for Battlefield 3 so we can now mod the game and do what ever we want... we can change the maps... add custom maps and what not xd really cool shit...

Go check out Project Reality, it's a standalone mod for BF2, what this mod tries to achieve is to make a similar mod but on BF3 And btw, there isn't "classes" in Project Reality, there's kits, and I think its more than 12 of them

I'm on the project's Discord. I'm aware of the other features. My criticism was to this trailer in terms of failing to showcase them, regardless of them planning on releasing another one.
