Hang on, Jack is in the UK!! When did that happen?? More Jack please. Also for the road trip maybe go to Scotland, with all the stunning views. Would the 720s be OK on NC500 maybe?
I think the headlights legally have to be able to be adjusted. Mclaren wouldnt make 2 different type of lights for LHD and RHD considering both need to be able to be adjusted. The 2 different ones would just be the same light with a different factory adjustment. Unsure in UK but in many countries the ability for that asdjustment is mandatory. I would look more into it before commiting to new headlights.
Nissan does 2 different sets of headlight for LHD/RHD, unless the law changed in the meantime (my car goes on its 25 years old now so maybe it's not the case anymore). In my headlights, there is an aluminium cover/mask just in front of the lamp that gives its shape to the beam, I modified some for a friend but we had to heat the whole headlight in an over to melt the butyl and open it in order to access its inside, it's not meant to be replaced and I don't think Nissan even sells this part.
Good shout, I did it in my Vanquish and you can not drive fast on the pothole sections due to being narrow and windy, keep your speed down and drive around them.
Hi . On my ford focus I have light settings to change left to right hand driver, try to search in settings maby your area lucky. Ps. Love the content and wish all the best to all 🎉
It's great that it was cleaned up. But when that is not an option and You need to find an oil leak in a dirty engine bay, then You can add special dye to the engine oil that is visible in UV light. This way you can determine where the oil is currently coming from even if all of it is full of oil, since only that place will be different color.
Not alot of people know this, but most cars have a function that can individually change the direction of your headlights. To move their position up and down, there's usually a small hole that fits a screwdriver, but for more exotic cars, a special tool is more likely used. You just give it a few spins, and it will adjust the beam of your lights. Just park like you did in the video, turn the lights on, and adjust it until you get it level by eye.
The problem isnt the beam level itself, which can be adjusted as you say. Its which side the beam image 'kicks up' - as Mat says. RHD vehicles must have the kick up slope on the near side (nearest the kerb). The car still has LHD lights fitted, thats why the kick up is on the wrong side for UK MOT test . Some manufacturers do have a switch to swap from RHD/LHD - if this isnt the case for McLaren then its new lights required.
Shout out from Cape Town, South Africa. Really enjoy your content Mat. Best RUclips car restoration content creator in the world. Always on the edge for your next video 😉
McLaren without splitter looks stunning still! Honestly love the broken line more rather than the one uninterrupted curve, makes the front more interesting imo. Either way, you could do any mod to that car and it'd look fantastic, car's just gorgeous no matter what.
Check if you can easily remove the projector for the headlights. If you don’t have to split the lamp then you could get away with an aftermarket rhd projector or try and find a busted rhd one and pull the projector and replace on those. It’s generally a metal flap that creates the beam pattern
Or grind the metal flap to change the shape, or build another one. I did it once for a friend, on a nissan, with an aluminium scrap cut and formed to replace the OEM one. The tricky part was to open the headlight first, it's sealed/glued with butyl, had to heat it to soften it and then the glass could come apart.
Questioning your headlight problem Slightly high on left and lower on right is the way it should be on “dip” Take it to an mot centre / garage and get an alignment check done first
Matt my lights on my leon some times stop working (led) usually its due to moisture getting in. You might of been able to take them off and strip them down and just hold a hair drier to them. Mine always work again after doing that and I usually end up needing to do it once during the winter months.
Road trip idea -> I'm from the US but travel to SW Germany often for work... (Bavaria area), the roads are epic.... autobahn is amazing and if you cross just over the border into Austria the views in the Alps are wicked. I'd check out this area.... I was going to say France too but there are way to many speed cameras.
On Audi you can enable tourist mode in sw, maybe on Mclaren has sg similar. If not, maybe adjusting manually the screwes on the the headlights can be a solution. Cheers for the good content!
I think the 720 needs some paint on the front wings and hood , leave some carbon showing but paint some of it , like on the wings leave the louvers exposed and paint the rest then on the hood leave some of the middle and body lines exposed and paint the rest
I hope the titles are in good fun and Ben Collins is not upset about it... you ask or give a noted driver like him the opportunity to push a performance car to its limits sometimes there is breakage. When you get it fixed hand him the keys again and lets see what he can do... there are risk and its the nature of the beast when your pushing the limits you sometimes get bitten no matter how good you are.... Im glad Ben was not hurt when the car lost grip and spun.
You know where the oil leak is coming from... Chest to heads rubber seals the ones you left out then tried to fit without taking the heads back off and levering the chest up. I think those headlights will pass inspection. The kink as you call it is on the left as it should be on UK cars no sweat yet the test before buying headlights 👍👍 good luck
Thats a fancy valvoline chrysler you got there. When you blast with ice you also freeze and force air into things. This could have pushed a peice of dirt into the hole that was leaking oil blocking it. Id power wash the engine and check it again for leaks
You should be able to use stickers deflectors on the headlights. It's quite common, and seen several vehicles with them in plae basically permanantly. Many cars also have levers to give oyu a flat beam, or even a software setting for it.
Definitely the Amalfi coast Italy as it's just stunning and a great drive down there on the b roads. And it'd be very interesting to see what the Italians think to your unique choice of colour wheel combo also. 👍🏼
I personally can't wait for you to get that koenigsegg. whether is crash damaged or not.. I enjoy the hell out of your videos. I'm sure ive seen every video now.. This has been therapy for me after had just lost one of my best friends. this for sure has been helping keep my mind off things. Cheers
Somethings to be said about the old Vectra with square headlights, they actually had tabs inside where you change the bulb that would flip the beam over so the headlights were all the same. Loads of littles things like that on them.
Jack just pop over for a cup of Tea and some good ol' British Banter thrown in? Great to see him! Wow the Valvoline livery is cool as. Will be great to see the McLaren on the road finally
*The MacLaren looks way better without the splitter imo I didn’t care for the way that it looked from the get go. I like what you’ve done with the McLaren, although I think I’d prefer it in white and black like a Storm Trooper, have you thought about doing an orange pinstripe/accent on body or rims like it had originally? I think that would really complete the look. Your Maserati is wicked and the new livery exceeded all expectations*
Glasgow A82/A87 to the Kyle of Lochalsh, about 10-12 hrs from Leicester, then up through Skye ,which is even more stunning or turn right at Lochalsh and do the North Coast 500 around the top of Scotland and back down the east coast would be my choice for a mega road trip.
Hey Mat, what about a road trip to the Motorworld in Munich? That seems to be an incredible place and you could also take yourself a room to the Ameron Hotel and park your car in the living room. Not making any commercial but I just really like the idea of that place. Love your stuff, keep working hard.
valvoline wrap is unrealll 🔥🔥
ITS RUclips!!!!! btw first one to comment lol
This comment is unreal
UNREAL!
Wrap is unreal!!!
no way youtube commented
The relationship between you, @tavarish and @Jack is beautiful...
It's sooo cool to see you there and them over here every now and then.
Reabuilding an egg would be the hardest of all rebuilds I reckon! Would love to see it on the channel
finding a damaged one is a challenge already, can't imagine how hard it would be to find replacement parts
Eggs are all carbon. Any body damage would render the car unrepairable
Would be even better if it was a egg CCX, reg works even better in that sense! 😄
mission impossible rebuild more like. xD
He is doing my MG ZT V 6 beast first… I call it a beast, more like a fucking kitten.!
Talking about ‘when I get a koenigsegg’, when I was watching this man rebuilding an AudiTT on a jack.
You did excellent, sir.
So lucky to be spending the quality time with your dad! Enjoy every minute, I miss my dad so much.
The best!
Not everyday you see a second channel being just as good as the main one 🤝🙏
Where are you hiding that Rolls Royce, Mat? 👀
well it got pixeld :P
in da basement
Where did you see that
12:17 aren't they the Rolls-Royce wheels in the background? 🤔
good eyes! They are!@@ihnacik1997
For the Maserati tail lights; wet sand the tinted spray until it's a proper color, and then clear coat it! it'll look great. it's so close
Mat Armstrong videos on Sundays are the best way to end the week!
* weekend
Hang on, Jack is in the UK!! When did that happen?? More Jack please.
Also for the road trip maybe go to Scotland, with all the stunning views. Would the 720s be OK on NC500 maybe?
dont act like we didnt see that rolls royce mat THIS BUILDS GONNA BE FIRREE keep up the awesome vids and cants wait to see that on the channel

Love it !Jack is on Vacation painting,
Love how your Dad is always in a good mood. 👍
That front splitter looked so good
Camera mat and Tony is the best duo!
Should have let Jack spray the rear light. It must have killed him watching Mat spray it.
Peeeeeeeeeetaaaaaaaaaah
Yeah when Jack said “few light coats” then “even coats!” straight after I had a little chuckle
Valvoline wrap looks unreal. Identity wraps killed it 🔥🔥🔥
Mat just paint the rest of the lights so they all match! 😊
Simon from McLaren is the goat, he has been so professional and helpful with everything
Supporting you all the way from south africa bro!
Good to hear saffa!👍🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦👍👎👌
Same country
Awe bruuu
Wat sê die man 😂@@nite-winggaming945
Lekker boys!
Road trip from Barcelona up to Cadaques (passing through all the Costa Brava coast)! You will love it, amazing work Mat, still kicking it
You should do the North Coast 500 in Scotland thats a great drive
Yeah I was going to say this. Never done it but planning too soon.
But the potholes up here are horrendous!!
I live in Scotland and you would be better doing it in an Impreza. Even something like a fiesta st would be more fun on those roads 😂
Good shout, I did it in my Vanquish and you can not drive fast on the pothole sections due to being narrow and windy, keep your speed down and drive around them.
That's proper tight with the headlights! Even our ford focus can switch between left and right hand drive in the settings!
Was thinking the same! My 2016 Focus does too. Not that I am planning on taking the ecoboost abroad though lol.
Does one little nick to your car and suddenly he's "ex stig"... lol
Sounds like the bbc gave them a cease and desist regarding saying the stig
"Little nick" scratched a 5k carbon fiber side skirt and the expensive paint job also broke the under tray
@@keepout2268I’m sure Mat doesn’t mind it that much. He’s a nice guy and can afford it. Besides it makes for more content.
Sounded more like the BBC (c) department had reached out....
If you would have watched the video atleast halfway you would see at 8:29 they make jokes about that they can’t call him stig for legal reasons lol
Valvoline wrap is sick. Looks so good now
Hi . On my ford focus I have light settings to change left to right hand driver, try to search in settings maby your area lucky. Ps. Love the content and wish all the best to all 🎉

My day just got better
You’ve been getting on a quite a bit better since I’ve started watching your channel! Thanks for keeping it exciting!
mats dad seems like a great dude

The Maserati looks awesome in that colour!!!❤
That cleaning process is absolutely brilliant!
Nc500 is an amazing road trip!

That car looks so much better in that livery. The best that car has ever looked
Can't wait to see where you'll go on the Road trip. That is the most interest to me 😊
That's looking awesome

When are u going to do the green Mercedes Benz
I recon he’ll sell that and use the m3 as the new daily
@@mangofojo6ix9nine3definitely a gonna,its not that great,onto the next!👍💪👌
I am still surprise he did not raffle that green benz
road trip...to Italy of course.
cant wait for the koenigsegg! Stradman has done you can too
Mat does it the right way. Strad is in debt.
Roadtrip: Nurburgring!
Love the video's guys!
its a good day when mat and stradman uploads!!!!
Maybe u could explore ireland as a road trip
We need a Mat & Dad channel 😂😂
Matt you need to put a clear coat over the black tint paint?
Love the wrap on the mazza makes bodykit look alot better
Dude that livery is bad ass imo
The *Maserati* looks amazing with that livery!
The Valvoline wrap looks sick on that car. Love it!

I saw on RUclips that there was a Koenigsegg Agera R wrecked in China. Matt, you should see if it's available and for how much and if it's fixable.
Questioning your headlight problem
Slightly high on left and lower on right is the way it should be on “dip”

The North Coast 500 as a road trip is one of the best in the UK.👍
Road trip to Baffle Haus in the Brecon Beacons!. You will absolutely love that place. Cafe/workshop, loads of mint cars and bikes.
Good to see Jack! I actually suspected he would fly over. Didn't expect he would be playing with anything other than that BMW's rear!
Yeah, Matt, that car looks absolutely mental love. The wrap you've done on it with valveling. Could almost mistake it for a Race car😊😊

If the headlight is projectors it can be opened and adjust the flaps to get a sharp flat beam.
paint matching the wheel trim thing would look amazing tbh
That wrap looks awesome 🔥
WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT TONY (15:19)
From England to Greece With the McLaren ❤❤
You can pry the lenses off the Maserati rear lights if you leave them in an oven at about 50 degrees C- it softens the sealant ♨
The livery is insane 1:50

Metal expands when heated could stop leak then shrinks when cold just a thing to look for.
Scotland has some amazing roads and views to match and right on your doorstep.

Drive from Bordeaux down to Spain through the tunnels and over the pyrenees I just done that journey it's amazing👏
Just take heatgun and cardboard box and put it insede there for 10min and you get that glass of that rear light. Works every time
Most the time the boards can be cleaned with alcohol. When they get wet points will bridge. I've saved loads of lights doing this.
love the wrap on the Maserati! Sick!

Road trip to Barcelona over the summer would be really nice!
Jack just pop over for a cup of Tea and some good ol' British Banter thrown in? Great to see him! Wow the Valvoline livery is cool as. Will be great to see the McLaren on the road finally
