I care very little what someone else does to their car. It's their car and them putting stuff on it I don't like is not harmful to me. It may not be my cup of tea but at least they are doing something with their car. Example: I saw a Fox done in what I would call a tuner/drifter/euro vibe. Dude did everything himself. Wasn't something I liked or would do but I had to appreciate the work the guy did to it. All I could do was give him compliments for doing what he wanted with it and doing it all himself. I say do what you want to your car. Make it the way you want. To hell with what others say. Only time I care is if they are trying to pass it off as something it's not. Especially if they are selling it to someone.
I know it might not seem like it, but I basically feel the same way.

Back in the day I thought it would be way better to have 1 piece headlights. Then they came out with them and I changed my mind real fast. Love the channel! Keep up the good work.

My father just gave my son a 87’ GT convertible. Black with maroon interior. Car is in great shape. Belonged to my brother in law, kept in a garage and doesn’t have a single door ding. I look forward to building it with my son. My dad and I built a 65’ as my first car. The time and experience means the world to me now that my dad is gone. Hopefully my son will feel the same way in the future. Thanks for the vids! Keep it up.

I would have loved to see both of you at one place. I tried asking off so me and ky dad could bring our 84 gt350 and 84 lx vert down but sadly it did not work out and I will be stuck at work. Hope yall have a good weekend and ill be there next year.

My biggest 5.0 purist pet peeve has to be the pipes through the gt bumper.. tacky as all hell. Sad to say that in the early 90’s a buddy and I actually did that to his.. seemed cool at the time lol!!

I know this is not a forum but I have been watching this channel through my TV for about 8 months now, just thought I'd give a warning. I am currently recovering from some disabilities I incurred years ago, so finances were tight, but I found a couple of fox bodys that needed work, that had been sitting for a long time, and thought I would ask the guy if he wanted to sell one. He told me he'd sell both for $500.00, he had the title to one but couldn't find the other. Told me to just get a bonded title which I did. Told me the 83 ( bonded title) would be the easiest to fix up. So a little bit each month i would get things for it. After putting close to 1000.00 into it he towed it to an undisclosed location saying I didn't pay him enough for it and he had the title. Seems it's a common problem. Now I have wasted time and money and have only the parts car one that he gave me the title to. Be careful out there when buying these old cars.

When you brought up the vert cobra guy I nearly died laughing.. guy has been in the forums for ages claiming it was a a cobra then a dealer cobra car or something. The Georgia Snake was dubbed its name or something. Halarious! Lol

It really gets me when folks change out the water pump for anything other than Motorcraft. In all seriousness, great list. I would only add aftermarket fender emblems that aren't true to the originals.
My monster tack was installed on a home made bracket made from a stainless trim piece from the submarine I was stationed on no holes drilled at all. Pulled off the dash pad near the vents above the radio and bent it up so that it bolts up to existing stuff. I avoid drilling stuff at all possible cost.
First thing I did when I bought my latest Fox was ditch the one piece headlights, LED Taillights and monster tach lol
I've never heard people get upset over not having mustang wheels on a Fox.

I almost spit out my coffee when you mentioned the guy passing off the 92 Convertible as a Cobra. Everyday he’s on the Facebook groups trying to convince everyone his is an authentic Cobra. He never pops the hood though, lol!
I enjoed watching your video , you couldn't of said it better. I agree 100% of keeping the any Ford Mustang Fox body original . Now these days if you find an original in great condition your lucky . Most have been modified really bad . I lived the late 80's and early 90's everything was kept original . Thank you for keeping it original.

Come on back in the day a 5" monster tack was a must, and im still a fan, lol.. im oldskool, 15-16 inch rims are all that should be under a fox, and back in the day we took floor mats out of the cars, and if your a true foxbody guy, you only put true amber 1986 gt tails on your fox,, ( my opinion only) but cowl hoods are the only hoods that look good on a fox,,
The stormin Norman hood looks pretty tough on a fox, but only if you get the functional Ram air kit to go with it

Another "bad mod" in 2019 is FMUs on forced induction cars(usually superchargers, they come with Vortech kits). Vortech blowers are great, but there's no reason to use a FMU to change fuel pressure on the fly when you can just run big injectors, a big fuel pump and a standalone ECU or custom tune. Doing it this way also gives much more consistent AFRs. More power, less detonation. FMUs belong in the 90s before this was easily possible and we were stuck with small injectors and stock ECUs.

@@prushimush I have always wanted to build a four eye coupe with capri flared quarters and fenders, svo mustang side pieces that go right in front of the rear tires, my old Saleen Sterns, and saleen front bumper amd wing. I always thought it would've been awesome given its all factory ford parts, while still looking hella custom.
I agree with all of these. I also hate cheap parts store "upgrades" such as vent shades and stupid chrome fender flares. Also cowl hoods. UNLESS you actually need the space.
I a Foxbody Mustang guy but I also have a thing for the Pontiac LeMans 68-71. and have owned a few. Anyway I went with a friend to his co-workers house/garage. This guy starts bragging about his GTO. I took a look and said "It's a Tempest". He tried to convince me. But he knew that I knew.

For the record, if you switch to 4.5 x 5, there are several factory ford wheels in 18" to 20" that used 255/50 series tires that would look very nice on a fox body IMO.
I love my staggered 19s and 20s on my stang. 19X8.5 up front and 20X10.5 in the rear
I like how 1 peice black out headlights look on some foxbodies. Just looks smooth and people dont like a gt kit on a notch mustang... but I did it, it's a 4 cylinder turbo car before I get a ton of hate lol I'm building it as a drift car it turned out nice

My 1 piece headlights look good to me
They look better than the stock cat-eye cataract headlights. The four eyed ones are awesome too.
I have the one piece also and they look way better imo

This is completely opinion based obviously - but its interesting to see the variety of tastes from everyone nonetheless...shit that REALLY grinds my gears:
1.) Exhaust tips cut through the middle of rear GT bumper ground effect (10 points for quad tips)
2.) 1 piece headlights (10 points for tint)
3.) Euro tail lights (same 10 point bonus for tintz)
4.) Black plastidipped turbines
5.) Rear spoiler removed
And no offense to anyone with these no-no's (I kid I kid)! To each his own! I'm not trying to hate by any means just have different taste 👍

BREW2L I am a new subscriber I have a 89 gt in red like yours my first Fox I had a 01 sn95 gt but the Fox is more fun
Also the big mustang decal on windshield or back window. 5.0 badges on the rear of the car or anywhere they are not supposed to be.
As for as the monster tach goes, a simple shift light will function in conjunction with the existing tach just fine.
This makes me want to stance my 83 capri rs and put old saab wheels on it.

One piece headlight is a way better design looks better imo I have them on my lx coupe
One more thing that people do with Mustang’s that I can’t stand is color the interior different colors with a aerosol spray cans to match the paint from the outside
I'd rather use a light strip rather than a monster tach. Indicate when I start redlining and Flash right before the limiter. There's some you can't even notice until the lights flick on. Or reflect off your windshield.
I've got the "cobra clone" but certainly don't try to pass it off as that. I may go for 19" rims but not sure. Didn't roll my fenders 😥 c ya soon
head light & tail light covers, knock off saleen wing, neon, perf parts stickers, more then 1 subwoofer, side window louvers, bright color painted drums, flashy chinese chrome wheels, fake badges/titles, tow hitch, pro mod hood scoop on stock motors. All are the worst fox body owners out there lol I do remember one guy that chopped the top on his hatchback and painted it all metallic purple back in the late 90's

Oh I love this video, BREW2L! I am in the market right now desperately trying to find a nice as stock as possible foxbody (manual of course) with the pushrod 302 in the Denver, CO area to make my daily driver and hopefully I can make some mods myself to it =). That's half the fun of having these cars, is it not ;-)?
Hey BREW2L I just finished building my first fox I have an 306 with 030 DSS pistons b303 cam trick-flow tw 170cc heads plasma piston rings full 3in Mac 1 chambers exhaust 24lb injectors it’s been converted to maf using a 93 cobra ecu with stock 5.0 intake manifold how much power will i be putting down and a buddy told me that switching to a carb will make more power and that I would need a tune to make any power with stock efi stuff by the way man great channel you always have great content 👍
Hard to say what power it will make honestly, but your buddy is correct.. it will probably make more power with a good intake and carb.

I have the euro tailights only cuz it came with the car. But I did sand the chrome and painted it black and cleared the outer lenses with some clear and a hint of base black

Kept mine completely stock! Stock 87 gt only mods were gt 40 intake headers k&n filter in original air box

Just got a pretty clean 1991 emerald green and silver GT and it has the monster tach in the dash and cut bumper with big tips thankful they offer the oem style rear bumper with the mustang logo now if we could just get the 1/4 glass with the mustang logo in them

18" Bullitts with the correct offset look pretty sweet on a lowered Fox IMO, as long as it looks proportional to the lowered stance of vehicle, I don't see anything wrong with it.
86 fox with 93 front clip, one piece headlights, 20 inch cobra replicas, autozone wing on the back, metallic lime green, badges everywhere. That's the worst thing I ever seen. And the owner would always back it in at an angle at the apartments I used to live in.
Last September I saw two convt. Stangs one Foxbody the other New Edge. Both were good looking cars, except the fact they were the most donked cars I've ever seen. I mean like 30 inch rims. I openly pointed and laughed at both drivers. I wasn't worried they literally would've never caught me.
Makes me wanna build a troll car with everything you said they hate.. then pull up at a meet.

i have a set of smoked euro tail light's, but in my defense i searched and searched for Lx tail light's for a year and as soon as i'd find some in good condition or just lense's in good condition they'd get bought before i could buy them from the seller and at the time i was waiting tables in a cheap skate town making pennys and couldn't afford a new set of ford tail lights for it. I do plan on replacing them soon lol.

I'm not a foxbody fan (I'm an S197 and S550 guy), but I think they should be left original or restored to their original condition.
I will say though that there's no finer sound than Flowmasters on a 302-powered foxbody.
So I just bought a 79 mustang pace car #770 built in 4/79, it has 19k original miles on it and has documentation for everything done to it by Shelly Ford in PA. It was painted, wheels changed lovers installed engine modified, C4 trans modified, rear end modified. I have pics if interested, I want to know what you think should I leave it the black with the orange stripe it has from 79 or should I get it turned back to factory pace car status.
I had a guy roll up in a 93 gt to a local meet stop and tell me I ruined a perfectly good 86 coupe by cutting t-tops into it. I told him my car was a stock t-top car and he tried arguing with me lol. It was grey with a black interior and the only thing I had done to it was a wc t-5, stern three piece saleen wheels(the one set of wheels I wish I still had) and a 331. Was fun but god did I come across stupid people.
The whole reason i love foxbodys is cause they made millions of them and its hard to find 2 alike. I love that people make the cars thier own.
And i love my onepiece headlights.
Every car should have a name i have an 81 stright six with a gt hood only because the original was rotted in the front why a 6 because nobody keeps a six and because i have an 89 lx 5.0 5 speed and the name i picked for the 81 really works

Hey I got 1 piece head lights. And to be honest I like them better than the 3 piece lights. Got a 89 GT with 3 piece and 90 LX with 1 piece lights. Whenever I stare at them side by side I like the 1 piece more for some reason. Can't go wrong. Imo
