This is bullsh*t opinion and propaganda. China isn't "winning" anything.
All the other auto manufacturers are abandoning EV sales (i.e. Toyota)... The tech sucks, the batteries fail in temps above 100', and when they get wet with salt water they catch fire and burn.
Even Elon said the tech for EV's "isnt ready yet".

Just came back from visiting 14 cities and smaller towns all over China. I was shocked that over 90% of all vehicles are electric. It’s literally silent everywhere we went. There electrical infrastructure is almost unbelievable. The US and other countries are so far behind it’s not even funny. We even ran into several engineers from the US that work for US car companies over there who said their technology and batteries are far superior in China. So I think I’ll ignore your comment as an uneducated form of ignorance

I would be really worried about China if it weren't for the resulting defective equipment they make. Everything that China sells overseas is knockoffs of American or European equipment (military equipment and appliances). Now we can add cars to that, but the defect/ safety recall repairs will not be financed by anyone but the owner. Have fun, at least for a few months.

And CATL price is so low that they make little per car but the huge market for the world is so big that even making $100 per car is enough to make CATL filthy rich and without competitor. That's what I say all the time! Sweden has no own production! So whose production are we protecting by paying the high taxes? Tesla!? Looks like a henhouse and costs way too much!
Volvo is bought by the Chinese but is more Swedish than ever in terms of design, functionality, safety etc. so Volvo has a good agreement with Geely which does not hinder Volvo's development! Unlike SAAB, American GM has had the last owner who drove SAAB into bankruptcy, it couldn't be saved!
Penalties and taxes that we Swedish citizens have to pay here to slow down the Chinese will not help in the long run! If, for example, Xiaomi opens its factories in the EU, then it is "domestic production" and then there are no penalties and taxes!
What will you come up with then? The Chinese are following us, the Chinese are eavesdropping on us!?!?
Should we build our free trade that way?
It's our fault we're late, all "our" makes have behaved like mean stepmothers to their EVs, you could design AMG, M5. M3, Mclaren etc and their EVs looked like inflated vacuum cleaners. When the customer asks why all these are beautiful and EVs are so ugly, the answer is "they are electric and must look like this". They have de-prioritised EV both appearance and development! I have experienced a crucial decade of changes in China's electric vehicle industry. At first, many companies fraudulently obtained government subsidies, but the government filled policy loopholes and introduced Tesla to compete with local car companies. In just ten years, China became the top selling country in terms of car sales. Chinese companies placed too much emphasis on efficiency, and Tesla's factory in Shanghai only took a short year from building the factory to producing electric vehicles. This is the secret to success: efficiency

So much biased bullshit media in this country sucking the tail of the US propaganda on China. So stupid considering China feeds our economy every day. ignorance and conceited naivety know no ends.

Chinese are creating the most exciting car designs in the planet these days. Germans and Japanese are scratching their heads if they’ll push for a slight tweak on their next year model with the same design but with orange stitching on the seats and black rims, or they make an entirely new model to catch up with the Chinese.

Tesla make more cars in China than in the US, many other legacy western and Japanese brands have made and sold millions of cars a year in China too and sold there and exported them as well. Buy a Tesla anywhere bar the US and it will be Chinese barringmodel Ts made in Giga Berlin. Western & Jap anese brands sles are ow tumbling and they are closing large Chinese factories factories regularly, some have left China completely, Jeep went bankrupt there.

As for doubts about electric vehicles or battery technology, people said the same thing about gasoline cars when they first came out-that they were slower than horse-drawn carriages, more cumbersome, and even more dangerous.

The problem with China and US is alike the story of the Rabbit and the tortoise. It tell the story of US thinking that China can never be better and advance than US therefore the Rabbit did relax and let the tortoise ran until the tortoise is about to reach the finish line and the Rabbit is still far away therefore the frightened Rabbit try all means to prevent the now confident tortoise passing the finish line by all means. No matter what, the future is EV and China indeed has the advantages over the world in EV technologies and price and fossil fueled cars are about to be eliminated whether we like it or not.

Thank you Alex. Wonderful video. I love what CATL is doing in the energy storage sector. I Live in Alberta and I follow the daily Min, Ave, Max prices of electricity. Julys numbers were Average Low price $14.64, Average average price at $88.62 and the Average high price was $339.80. That is a huge spread between $14.64 and $339.60. I would love to run a energy storage system of 100 MW by buying wholesale power off the AESO pool price , store it, then put it back on the grid when prices are high.

Many Chinese car manufacturers not only hire top local car designers but also many top car designers from all over the world mainly top car designers from Europe to produce the most beautiful looking cars with top performances and highest safety ratings. However, many car brands all over the world including from China will be bankrupt because too many brands and too many competitions inside and outside China.

I watched Louis Gave talk about a BYD hybrid that gets 2000km per fill up (gas+electricity) and costs $14000 in China and listened in awe. Instead in Canada we'll continue only to have 70,000$ EV's and zero used EV market (you have to be insane when they charge 20-30,000$ per new battery.)
Im not a fan of EV's because (i use a car share service downtown that has EVs/hybrid) seeing the power drop as youre driving in -20/-30c winter (also, living in an apartment building means no charging) is deal breaker. But having to fill up the car 5x per year sounds great.
EV's will remain a limited segment that remains unaffordable for most Canadians. And the Canadian government and all political parties want it to remain unaffordable.
