    With all due respect it cannot be compared to a 'Chevy SS'. The build quality, engineering and refinement of the ISF is a massive step above it.

    • @patrickdakis4437
      @patrickdakis4437 4 года назад +9

      Definitely. 1 Huge Level above it. Or a couple regular size notches depending how you look at it.

    • @nkodo22
      @nkodo22 4 года назад +24

      Disagree. The Chevy SS (Holden Commodore)is on par with the ISF in terms of build quality and engineering. The Holden Commodore was benchmarked against E39 BMW M5. Test drive one for a true comparison, that is if you can find one. In addition to modify the LS3 is definitely less expensive and a manual transmission available.

    • @gavinr9107
      @gavinr9107 4 года назад +51

      @@nkodo22 I live in Australia and have to disagree with you. They are a dime a dozen here and I have embarrassed several in my stock ISF. Modifying the LS3 is less expensive because it is no way near as refined as the 2UR engine. The 8 speed auto in the ISF is quicker shifting than the manual LS3 too obviously. The interior in the ISF is superior too.

    • @nkodo22
      @nkodo22 4 года назад +8

      @@gavinr9107 The LS3 engine is one of the best engines ever produced. There is a reason why the LS3 swap is extremely popular. It is reliable and cheap to modify. No one swaps the 2UR engine. The Toyota Altezza (Lexus ISF) is a dime a dozen in Japan, and they are not rare in the US. I will give you that the 8 speed is a great transmission, but there is no manual available and with a trans tune the Chevy SS comes alive. In addition, the Holden Commodore you guys get in Australia isn't fully loaded with amenities and has a slightly different interior than the Chevy SS we get here(Only options were a spare, sun roof and manual transmission. Everything else came standard). As for the interior of the ISF, the back seat is only there for appearance, and the tech is extremely dated. I would say it is a matter of opinion. I test drove both and ended up buying the Chevy SS due to the rarity (here in the US), low cost of modifying( I currently have headers and an LSA supercharger). You really can't go wrong with either, but in my estimation they are in the same league.

Hell, State Farm appraised my IS 250 at 17K when it got totaled back in July and I only owed 9900. So at this point a 20K ISF is either salvage or has been wrecked. Corona has ruined the used car market, especially for sports car buyers. I remember when Porsche 996s with decent mileage were $13K to $15K. Now it's $30K all day.

    They have updated this car GSF & RCF. Both has the same block, makes makes more power stock, seems like it shifts faster, and puts down a bit more with the RR supercharger. But... I believe it's a tad heavier. I love my my RCF and they are getting to be a bargain with some in the mid 30k range. Back seats and infotainment system blows just like like ISF. I like to think of it as my Japanese Trans-AM.

    • @tortillachipmedia4616
      @tortillachipmedia4616 4 года назад

      Same engine and trans. The only reason the power is greater is because the Rev limiter on the ISF was 6600 and the rev limiter on the RCF is 7100. The engine makes good power up top and with the ISF's rev limiter turned to 7100 they would be nearly identical. Shifting is the exact same no faster and with the supercharger they have the same numbers. The ISF is significantly lighter and will pull on the RCF and GSF every day of the week. Not boasting just more or less saying Lexus screwed up with the weight on both the cars. They should have made them the same or lighter than the isf
