    Just bought a 2010 ISF two days ago due to the first video you had with Tavarish. I realized I didn’t need a low mileage ISF, especially since I commute 80 miles a day normally, so that helped. Decided to pick mine up with 198k miles and never been happier! Needs a little love, but all the critical components are sound, very loud and glorious sound. Thanks!!!

    • @pearldrums92
      @pearldrums92 Год назад

      Brother- how has your experience been up until now? Looking at one with 144k with a similar commute! 70 miles! What items needed to be addressed or what should I look at?

    • @mannylupercio8194
      @mannylupercio8194 Год назад +1

      @@pearldrums92I ended up getting rid of it but the owner that has it lives in Iowa and commutes with it, up to about 235k miles now. A few things.. the rear bumper cover clips love to break, so it's barely noticeable but the bumpers don't always line up. Valley plates are notorious for failing but those issues are usually resolved early on. Natural wear and tear - bushings fail by that time, so if it wasn't maintained regularly, look at that. Interior likes to melt, so sometimes the dash and doors look like crap if they're not changed out. OEM suspension feels like a race car, so you usually have to change those out if you plan to daily in comfort. Honestly, overall.. they're great cars to have so long as they're taken care of, even higher miles.

    If you have a Mini-inductor, the dust shield on any Lexus rear wheel bearing (rear wheel drive vehicles) is super easy to put on. Just heat it up till it glows and it will fall into place.
    Next thing you need to is check for a coolant leak from the valley plate under the intake manifold.

    I own a 220,000 mile IS F and the “oil consumption” is real, at 185,000 or so I thought it was just wear but looked one day and seen the high pressure pump gaskets were both gone. I need to do this

    Hey Jared, so the dust shield is a one time use part. It's far easier to go ahead and just break it out of there and then install a new one. The easiest way to install a new one is to heat the new shield with a map gas torch until it is bright red hot and then just slide it in there. Though, this does require the sensor to be removed, which it looks like you managed it all anyways.

      Thankfully a southern car doesn't have the same severe corrosion and they are reusable

    I'm seeing the same oil seepage on my isf. Did you experience any smoke coming out of the exhaust when stepping on the gas pedal aggressively? I'm curious what is the estimated cost of repair for a valve gasket replacement. Awesome video BTW.

    Check around 20:05 on you'll see a leak on your drivers side likely from the hoses above.. can see the liquid spraying in the air. Also on your plastic covers..

    I have a 2015 IS350 Fsport, I wish they had kept the ISF going into the third gen as I think the car could use a couple more cylinders, hoping the rumors of a forthcoming "IS500" are true.
    I used to have a (heavily modified) WRX wagon; valve cover gaskets require the engine to be pulled, so glad to be in a "V" configuration again, but more so in a car that I won't likely have to work on for most of my ownership. Previously it was mustangs, I miss V8's, time to work on my 66 project I suppose.

    That engine did look very clean! I see many that look "gold anodized" under the valve cover!

    Thanks for the video! Would an adjustable rear control arm solution, like the one you showed, work on a Lexus GS350? I'd love to install one of those solutions to get rid of the negative camber on my GS350 that was lowered on a set of coilovers.
