The Iroquois pump out some incredible players. Love the impact it's having on the game by challenging the status quo of "proper technique". It's too bad that we're only now seeing these players in the past 10 years (Thompson family and Cody Jameson), I'm sure there have been some incredible Iroquois players that have never had the chance to shine at the big stage.
777ElectroHarmony777 Some of what you're talking about is the result of an increased focus by Canadian & Native box players on the field game that dates back 30 years or so to the Gait brothers playing at Syracuse. Those players have brought the 1-handed box style of play to the field game and their success has resulted in an increased acceptance of that style of play relative to the traditional 2-handed American style. In terms of Iroquois players, I don't think there is much doubt that there are far more and more talented Native players in the current generation than previous ones, especially at field lacrosse. In the 1990 and 1994 World Championships, the Iroquois took 5th place behind Australia and England. 2014 was the first time that they took home a medal when they were 3rd. So while perhaps players in the past were overlooked, that's not the only reason it seems like there are so many more talented Iroquois field players recently.
Yes, either one is fine. The pronunciation the announcer is using is more French influenced and is more common in Canada (the announcer is Canadian). The other one you are probably more familiar with is more English/American influenced and tends to be the common pronunciation in America. Both are acceptable to use though. For example, if you go to the Wikipedia page, it lists both pronunciations en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iroquois.

It’s amazing how he never uses his left. He’s just able to maneuver around with his right which makes him deadly.
Ive been waiting for this
This guy is a true artist. I love to watch him play. I wish I could play against him - unfortunately I'm 40 years too old...
That's just fantastic text book lacrosse offensive chemistry.

This could be the next Thompson family depending if he has siblings I don't know to much about him personally
This is kid is raw!
Plays just like the Thompson bros. He is his own person though so we shouldn't put him in that box.
Thompson bros with Gait bros size .... Ohhhh I cant wait for this at Albany
Is the commentator pronouncing Iroquois correctly?

Why is he wearing a box helmet?
i do not play box but i am guessing that is is less bulky compared to field heads and i know for a fact that their is more peripheral view
Dangspiceking Whydoihavetohavealastname his head is too big for any field helmet
Hes wearing a box helmate beacuse his head wont fit comfortably in a regular cascade helmet
