Amazing and strong women doing the best for their families. Hearing their stories not only made me tear up (when they shared the moment they got approved for Dr. Joe’s house) AND inspired me to want to be a compassionate section 8 landlord!
Thanks so much for sharing 🙏🏾

Really open my eyes. One of my rentals became available recently. It's built in 2007 or 2009 really nice house. I just rented it to a gentleman with a voucher about two or three weeks ago.
    Thank everybody!

Oh how I wish I was amongst these tenants.
I want to be a long term tenant as well. I like how you value your properties as well as your Tenants. Just as much as Landlirds are looking for that awesome tenant, I am as well looking for that awesome Landlord. I've been a voucher holder for the most part close to 20 years. Just as long as it's been called Section 8.
Congrats to you all, glad you all no longer have to look for another landlord. Section 8 is certainly looked upon as we are going to trash your property. I've been told it's a form of welfare in the bad term.
I want to live clean, in a great neighborhood, etc. Landlords want to offer you the lowest, unattractive, crime areas, etc. These are my experiences. It's sad I have to explain the person I am just because I hold a Section 8 voucher. I started in Alexandria Virginia, learned all I can about it. I have a very unique situation before being a voucher holder (i was in house section 8/go by your income). I had a beautiful landlord from 2011 until 2022, I knew once they got older in age, if I wasn't able to have them as landlord. That I was going to be in trouble.

I feel like a lot of people might be surprised that someone who has a full time job, for example Ms Walker working for the government, would qualify for the Section 8 program. The state of housing in this country is in trouble and I hope more people are able to get into good situations with this program.

I hear its a quite of bit of state government workers who are on section 8, it's just a lot of people in general who work full time who use the housing vouchers.

Joe, I really appreciate you posting this video. It is indeed a testament to who you are as a businessman/person. I’m currently trying to get into the Real Estate investing industry,as it has been of dream of mine for years. Listening to your testimony and how you started on Bigger Pockets is definitely aspiring. I hope I can be as successful as you are with investing as well as with my future tenants.
    Cheers 😊

My situation is a lil similar to Ms walker.
You can not make this up. They still today yell you they are not accepting the voucher. Now they try to reword it without saying it straight out.... "were not participating at this time"

Joe, for getting started with section 8, how can people qualify to be able to accept vouchers from renters? I don't know where to start when trying to find out if a property would work as a section 8 rental. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm a voucher holder.... example: I as you do you accept vouchers, you say yes, how much you are renting for. I let my worker know I found a location, you feel out my paperwork, housing gets in touch with you....go from there.
I'm sure it's a lil more between you and housing that you have to complete.
Voucher holders are out here looking for decent homes. A lot of landlords look down on voucher holders.... these ladies speak truth... my experiences as well.
