Hi,thanks for watching and commenting, this is on the outskirts of Edmonton, on private property. Access to the NSR is near impossible. Where you from? 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP

Really enjoyed your attitude, a hobby and great bonding time. I have one question, a few years ago I looked into this as a hobby and was told it was no problem, but, you could use no mechanical help. In other words, pretty much pan only or set up a gravity sluice. Was I told wrong or did you have to get permit for pump. Thanks. Lawrence
Hi Lawrence, In Alberta you will need a license from the government to run a pump..that's it.. you then need to find access to the river..no claiming at all in Alberta... In BC you need you FMC ( Free Miners Certificate) and a claim to run a pump... Thanks for watching and your comment... now get out there and find some gold!! 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP
@Hard Rock University Thanks for the comment. Yes we moved some dirt that weekend... But I'd have to guess close to 4 yards, that would work out to just over 3.8 cubic meters.. This river has lots of fine gold to get, easy diggings...the older I get the more I enjoy it, rather then in BC fighting with the builders and just digging down. Thanks for watching. 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP
What pitch are you running at? Both main box and tail, if you don't mind telling. I'm running gold hog mats too, but having way more rocks being caught, if i increase water, i blow gold out.
Hi Wade, I usually run my main box at 9.5-10° my extension is closer to 8° What pitch are you trying and what type of Gold Hog matting are you using? I use mostly UR n Scrubber.. Thanks for watching. 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP
@@CanadianGoldProspector Im running about the same pitch. 9ish, tail is usually set at 6. I alternate scrubber, talon, bedrock for 5'. tail is mostly motherlode with a few pieces of UR and downdraft. Its wierd, i know they should run fairly clean, but dont, if i increase pitch or flow, gold blows right out the end. I lose nothing ow, but have boat loads of lights to clean out.
At 12:40 or so you should snuffer up the gold and little bit of black sands left transfer to a clean pan with less water and backpan from that point and just snuffer up the black sand you pan down I find this works really well
Can't do this in B.C. but he is in Alberta and it looks like you can there. He does all the time so it must be fine. I have no idea what the rules are in the rest of the provinces. So yeah, the rules are made by the provinces so it could vary.
@@brettcarey04 Yeah in Edmonton it usually doesn't get clear until August. Even then all it takes is a heavy rain up around Rocky Mountain House to make the river turbid again.
nice return, it really adds up! Im from BC but will be spending the winter in AB down near Drumheller so im glad to see some gold there abouts! Have you done any prospecting way down south? Any tips for this area would be great. Cheers
Hi Riley.. First off I'm in Alberta and this is being filmed on the North Saskatchewan River near Edmonton.. my setup is a DIY made from a aluminum truck tool box.. that I bought off Kijiji for $50. Thanks for watching. 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP
Nice dude! Me and the gf are headed out for our first AB gold soon! Is this anywhere near Prospectors Point? Or a much nicer quieter area I would guess :). Good stuff!
@@CanadianGoldProspector I hope so! Our best day panning and sniping in BC I maybe had .75 grams. It's amazing how much gold you can gather eventhough its fine! :) It's all pretty and wonderful to me no matter what the size! :)
@@CanadianGoldProspector Yep! As well some of the places are downright dangerous to get too, access + bears + cougars, I think I will enjoy using my highbanker.
Hi what area are you in I'm looking to find a spot south of prince albert on the north Saskatchewan river what's good geological signs to look for on the river banks ?
Canadian Gold Prospector: I’m in Calgary working a 7/7 schedule. 2 weeks off every month. September onward is best for me. I am committed to provide coverage for Summer maintenance at work.
Hey buddy always a joy watching you get that gold!..Just a question for ya.Have you ever tried th Dream Mats,or seen one in use?..Not knocking what you use,but since you mentioned it I am just curious..Like I always say if someone unlikes one of your videos, then they clearly haven’t watched it and being a troll,or have no clue the joys of getting out there and enjoying the hobby!..Most that know nothing about it and watch stuff like gold rush they think why is a guy wasting his time getting that powder gold?..Well easy answer is it’s just a satisfying to get that gold as it is to get That gold on Gold Rush..It’s all about the love of the game, and a really good way to spend time with family and friends!..
I honestly have not tried it personally..but had a friend that used it.. maybe using it incorrectly. Someone would have to prove to me it's better for me to switch. Thanks for watching and your comment as usual. 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP
Good work and nice very fine Gold. I expected a little more for this huge hole, but man its not laying around everywhere and i think with this fine stuff, at this size of the river you got a really hot spot. Greetings from germany
@rallyefilmer Yes I was hoping for little bit more gold as well.. but this river has a $hit load of fine gold in it...just too bad I couldn't use a suction dredge... Pz a day for sure..😂🤣😂🤑 Thanks for watching and commenting. 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦 CGP

Nice to see someone not playing around, but moving some dirt. What would you guess: 5-10 cubic meters?
@Hard Rock University
Thanks for the comment.

@@CanadianGoldProspector You're most welcome. Many prospectors don't understand the importance of throughput to profit.
What pitch are you running at? Both main box and tail, if you don't mind telling. I'm running gold hog mats too, but having way more rocks being caught, if i increase water, i blow gold out.
Hi Wade, I usually run my main box at 9.5-10° my extension is closer to 8°
What pitch are you trying and what type of Gold Hog matting are you using? I use mostly UR n Scrubber..
Thanks for watching.

Dancing bill, and Black Jack would be proud of you
At 12:40 or so you should snuffer up the gold and little bit of black sands left transfer to a clean pan with less water and backpan from that point and just snuffer up the black sand you pan down I find this works really well
Thanks for the tip.. the gold is pretty clean when I'm done with it.

I thought Canada had laws for dumping the water back into the river or is that only some parts?
Can't do this in B.C. but he is in Alberta and it looks like you can there. He does all the time so it must be fine. I have no idea what the rules are in the rest of the provinces. So yeah, the rules are made by the provinces so it could vary.
as long as the water your putting back into the river doesnt have more sediment than whats already flowing, its perfectly fine.
And the NSR is pretty dirty usually. Lol
@@brettcarey04 Yeah in Edmonton it usually doesn't get clear until August. Even then all it takes is a heavy rain up around Rocky Mountain House to make the river turbid again.
Great gold cleanup
Sorry I missed this comment.

they are sold at gold panning stores. "broke back mining" in vernon sells them
Looking good. I need to ask where you found that setup in Saskatchewan.
Hi Riley.. First off I'm in Alberta and this is being filmed on the North Saskatchewan River near Edmonton.. my setup is a DIY made from a aluminum truck tool box.. that I bought off Kijiji for $50.

@@CanadianGoldProspector I hope so! Our best day panning and sniping in BC I maybe had .75 grams. It's amazing how much gold you can gather eventhough its fine! :) It's all pretty and wonderful to me no matter what the size! :)
Yes fine but very pure..I love BC..but it's some hard digging compared to the NSR.
@@CanadianGoldProspector Yep! As well some of the places are downright dangerous to get too, access + bears + cougars, I think I will enjoy using my highbanker.

Pz a day for sure..😂🤣😂🤑

$140 in gold vs $15 in gas for the pump.. not too shabby I'd say..
