Mercury and Sun would be my choices as we're only allowed 2 .Not sure what my 3rd pick would be between Mars Moon and Neptune.

Yeah exactly! I actually just sold my 2019 Speedmaster Professional and plan to buy the Cal 3863 version soon. So I really don’t think I’m the right person for the standard black dial moon version. But this will definitely scratch the itch for now until I get it! 😅
The best of those is that every one has some touch to the Omega speedy history.

Uranus and Pluto are my favs! I also like Mercury but it’s a bit boring. Earth and Mars look cool in pictures but I think maybe be too cheap looking in person

Went to store this morning, but wasn't early enough. Sold out in Dubai, was in 2 stores, 80 pieces in each store. Hopefully, they will restock. Not sure if the prices will go up due to the popularity.
I just can't make a coherent decision which color, I even changed my mind of 3 of the 4 or so that I really didn't like after 12 hours. I want to know how the cases are colored, is it though them or just a coating on the surface like a plating or paint, will it scratch? What's the crystal? What's the movement caliber? I think it's a little large, I wish it was the size of the smaller reduced automatic versions?
I´m absolutely loving this release, and as an speedy owner, I'm loving this release even more. I don't agree with the whole "omega is being cheapened" argument because in the end this is a one off collaboration, so it very much comes off as good fun especially since since its still very much a swatch and it has the swatch name on it.
Do you think this will bring more young people to the Omega brand? It's exciting to see swatch do something so cool! I haven't owned one since I was in high school in the 80s (Most of us were still using sundials back then) 😀
Yeah I think it will! I was at the store late last night and saw a bunch of tweet young 20 something year olds in the line. I think Gen Z is definitely into this release!

They should make them 38mm with a good quartz moovement. Maybe use ceramic and charge a bit more

For me, Mission to Mercury, Mars and Jupiter. Funny enough I didn't see Mars available at the time in my nearest store, and ended up buying Mercury, Moon, Jupiter and Pluto. Recently I saw Neptune but did not convince me.

I have no problem with Omega using their name directly here, they aren't ever going to be as popular as Rolex, no point fighting in that space. However, this brings new people into not just the watch hobby, but name recognition with Omega. It won't prevent someone who is serious about a metal automatic Omega from getting one. And instead of paying for a fake, they can buy the real thing, a plastic/ceramic quartz version of course. I will own a automatic Speedmaster one day, but in the meantime, a Moon Omega x Swatch is what I'll be ordering once they start selling them online in a couple of weeks.
All fair points, and I guess if you get enjoyment out of the watch then wear it in good health! I for one was very turned off from this release after the disastrous launch, but I’m definitely still planning to buy at least one when online sales open up! 😅
You didn't mention that Jupiter has the Ultraman colors (orange second hand and orange lettering). That definitely puts it in the top three.

@IronChefWong I'd say Moon, Jupiter and Mercury, but I like the all blue on Neptune as well.

Yeah, if you wait. They're not limited, so they'll be back online and in stores again soon. Anyone paying the silly prices on eBay will be sick as a pig when they find that out.
Can the straps be removed and swapped to say a NATO strap?
I think so! Should just be a standard spring bar!

My top 3 Sun, Jupiter & Moon. As for the white strap, it is advisable to swap with any 3rd party NATO strap. For Sun, a orange NATO strap with gold buckle will be fantastic.

@@frankiewatch A weak point for this watch, other than non-repairable, is the lug may break easily. But bioceramic may be more durable than plastic, hopefully. But definitely not for collection, just a fun statement watch.
Mercury number one for me. Second is a tough call, but it's probably a coin flip between Neptune or Moon. I don^t do colourful watches, but the Sun and Uranus (I know, I know) look pretty good, although I likely wouldn't wear either.
Mercury is my number one, second is Neptune, on third is Pluto.

I think one simple thing would have made this move palatable for just about everyone...making exactly the same watch, but leaving the Omega name and logo off of the watch completely. It could say "MoonSwatch Speedy" for example with everything else identical and it becomes an instant cult classic Swatch. The Speedmaster configuration is so instantly recognizable that diluting the Omega brand power with their labeling on a Swatch seems not only unnecessary, but perhaps even a major marketing blunder. I own a half dozen Omegas, including a reduced, and I have enjoyed the slow but obvious regaining of status that Omega gifted to Rolex with the introduction of the Cal 1000's in the 70's. Having the Greek Omega symbol on a dial now seems somehow less relevant.
If Omega wants to do something spectacular to make up for this misstep they could always reissue the Cal. 551 with modern hi-beat timing. It was a hit with the 321. I could not think of anything better than a vintage homage Seamaster in a 39mm case, with an exhibition back displaying the pinkish gold looking mechanicals of this iconic movement----from an era that Omega was generally considered preferable to a Rolex. Very little development cost, so sell it for $2200, and sit back and enjoy years long waiting lists of enthusiasts trying to get their wrists wrapped by one. Instant classic. Much better way to garner raves from the masses than conning them into a gimmicky quartz watch with allusions to being an actual Omega. These might be selling on ebay for a $100 a year from now. Swatch could react quickly and take the misleading name off the dial, and make that first run of "SwatchMasters" an oddity that actually does become a collector item. In my humble opinion
Completely agree! There more I think about it, the more I feel Omega just diluted their brand big time with this release. These definitely sound like better ideas than what they've done.

It's possible the immediate effect of this "brand dilution" will threaten the watch snobs who owns the the SMP; however, in the long run, it opens Omega up to a new generation of collectors who would otherwise slap Apple watches on their wrists. I wouldn't hesitate getting a few of these for fun. Makes me appreciate my moonwatch even more. For an aspiring collector, the buck doesn't stop at the MoonSwatch. Those that think a MoonSwatch can actually replace a Moonwatch, they're idiots. It's like saying "my Tudor Black Bay or GMT will be good enough...I got no need for a Rolex Submariner or GMT Master II, respectively". Lunacy.

Not it’s hesalite, so acrylic crystal similar to regular Speedmaster.

Haha, relax bro, it’s just a watch release! I work in the watch industry and have seen the rise of prices to ridiculous levels of hype pieces. This may have a bit of that going for it, but in the end it’s a non limited production swatch release, and just a fun watch. The world is such a cynical tragic place right now, just let people have their fun with this one 🤣

I am not sure if the Omega Speedmaster Professional can be regarded as a luxury watch amy more. Why would I spend thousands on one when you can buy one of these for a few hundred dollars. A lesson on how to devalue your product.
Marketing wise its clever decision.
I don’t think it devalues a product. I still value mine, right next to my Bulova Lunar Pilot, and as of tomorrow it will be right next to my MoonSwatch. I will value all three in their own way for what they are, as an enthusiast.
