      Uhhh no. Get the 3/8 stubby with thin wall metric sockets from 6-24mm.
      Then get a mid torque m18fuel with thi k wall 10/15-32mm sockets.
      Thag makes the most sense economically.
      Cuz theres still alot of stuff a mid torque can handle over the new stubby.
      Better yet get a 3/8 stubby a 1/2" high torque. High torques rarely needed though.
      Outside of trucks or seized lug nuts my gen 1 stubby can handle all lug nuts.
      Now i work on diesel trucks so thats not even often but most dont work on diesels.
      I reccommend 3/8 stub 1/2hi torque with those socket ranges. Can get just about everything done with that.
      Edit: actrually in my experience ive never had anything socket wise i can get done with that outside of specialty bits-triple square, torx, swivel sockets etc.
      The thick sockets on a 1/2 stubby just dont handle great.

      4mm fasteners might be a better job for an impact driver, not an impact wrench. I don’t know exactly what you’re up against, but I think you might have too much tool for that fastener unless you’re trying to run them 100 ft/lbs into something

    • @legacy2042
      @legacy2042 4 месяца назад

      @@TorqueAndTwisted oh ofc but I'm not running them in with it, just starting them. also the warehouse is huge. If i carried every tool i needed in my bag id be easily pulling 100+ lbs. So a compact impact wrench will do the job of both for me. I own a driver, its just at the moment the asset wasn't hard blocked and needed to be running within 15mins. So I use whatever on me. Usually I put those together with an Allen key but it can be tricky to do fast by hand since it wasn't to turn on you from the transfer case of the motor.

    Man I need me one in a 1/2 inch for max torque. I'd get a 3/8 but it'll break the 3/8 to 1/2 adapter, it's happened before and at those torque levels I bet it'll cheese them up fast.

      Good question. That depends a lot on what you're working on most often. I work on cars with mine and space can get limited. I can fit a 3/8" drive socket into more space than a 1/2 socket. So for me, I go 3/8 as that's the most useful for me.

      Torque specs are the same between those those two tools. I would suggest the 3/8 option because you can run smaller sockets, meaning you can fit the stubby into more tight clearances compared to half inch version. If clearance isn’t much of a concern, then it’s a tossup between the half inch and the 3/8 just based on what you prefer to use.

I don’t have to look at the gear selector to know what gear I’m changing into because I know what gear I was just in… it’s that simple to me
