I don't think so. DrumChannel has a video with JR Robinson playing it, you can slow it down and see what he's doing there.
How interesting it is you put names on drum figures that existed way before the people you name them after (Steve Gadd ratamacue, John Bonham triplet). Those guys although very good drummers in their own rights see themselves elevated above the rest artificially. For what purpose?
That said, The teaching is great👍
Without the double in the beginning, its not a rattamacue. Gadd is a legend but I dont believe in changing the meaning of things that have been fundamentally understood for centuries for any reason.
