I absolutely love all your content! I was considering this pond prowler as well! I was torn between this and a kayak but thanks to you I might have to pull the trigger on the prowler lol
I grew up in SE Ohio next to the Ohio river and have owned a plywood flat boot boat, aluminum john boats, a speed boat and even a sail boat but the BEST fishing boat I have ever owned was a plastic two man bass boat that looked a lot like the Pond Prowler sold at Bass Pro shops. I would not even consider any aluminum john boat if I could get a Pond Prowler.
Had a uncle bucks 10 ft pond prowler for like 15 yrs was assume with a 40lb TM had to get places others can't just clean it up after every use and have it out of the weather will last yrs.
Yea, I have been looking for Jon boats for a while. No luck round here. Me and my sons finally got a little money saved and free time, but no reasonable boats out there. Well like you said new. I see a bunch of used ones on craigslist for 3 or 4 times what a new one would cost. Just crazy times.
Yeah it is a weird time right now. I didnt want one of these before but the options for having a boat are starting to get pretty thin and especially if you want to save some money. I hope you get something that works out good for ya terry.
That’s a tough decision. That little boat had way more stability and fish ability than a kayak in my opinion. The only downside is it weighs just a little more.
Me too I'm stuck because I don't have a truck or trailer so I'd have to buy a trailer to go with the raider but I could just throw a yak on my roof so it's a steuggle
It's been a few months since this video was put out... did you ever find a jon boat? No luck here in WA! I ended up getting a old town kayak (paddle) and I'm really wishing I had a jon boat instead right now 😥
Boat shortage is for real. I just ordered a new Tahoe and it’s 12-14 weeks before I get it. The bayliner dealer when I was looking at those told me I might get a element 18 by end of the year if I ordered one of those lol.
Woah that is super far out. I would never think they were backed up that much. Well it will be summer time by then and I hope you have a good time on the water.
Hey bro what's your opinion on the nucanoe frontier 12ft . I was gonna get a jon boat but I've been told to just get kayak and the nucanoe seems like something I'd like. .
I think its an awesome super stable kayak. It isn't quite the same as the prowler 10 with being able to take people and alot cheaper. You could buy 2 batteries, 2 trolling motor with it and still be cheaper than the frontier but it depends on how your gonna us it.
Dude get a jon boat. There is nothing wrong with getting a used one. I bought an awesome uses one last year for $1,500 -- 15hp motor, 30lb thrust trolling motor, newly installed metal floor, 2 anchors and a gas tank. Basically all I bought were new batteries, a net, oars and a fish finder. Basically got a really nice jon boat for not too much money. And I'm thinking about building a deck & home-made live well on it this year.
I might do that and do the smart thing and save some money. I had no idea they stopped making jon boats and wanted to look at the prowler 10and weigh my options.
It would do fine for small ponds but it would be best to upgrade to at least a 40lb thrust. I have a 55lb Enduramax with variable speed control. Good speed and great control.
You could but I wouldn’t advise it. That thing is like a barge in the water. Especially with 2 guys in it, but if your floating down a river definitely would be good with paddles.
@@TBassFactory ..yess. i have it completely tricked out with MK 55 Enduramax trolling mtr., a 4hp 4T Hangkai outboard, lights, bimini, top, Garmin fishfinder, carpet, fused gangswitches for electrical, etc. Yeah, its cherried out for sure. I love it!!
@@TBassFactory Yes it was, it was pretty dirty and was growing plants in the bilge, but i took it home and pressure washed it and it looks great! I just feel like bass pro is very overpriced for what they sell.
I put a 50lb thrust trolling motor on mine and it moves!! Fits in the back of the truck so it's easy access where there aren't ramps.
I live these boats for that reason. Easy to get around and get you on the fish easily
Just bought one. Waiting for it to be delivered. Can't wait!!
Oh yeah! Your about to get on them bud
I absolutely love all your content! I was considering this pond prowler as well! I was torn between this and a kayak but thanks to you I might have to pull the trigger on the prowler lol
I was thinking the same thing after finding out they aren't making jon boats for awhile and the demand is at a high. Thanks bud I appreciate it
@@TBassFactory no thank you! I really enjoy your content! You have helped me out a ton! I am excited to see what you get lol
@@TBassFactory they say they are more stable than a Jon boat! You have me seriously researching these now lol

Yes sir, they are awesome little boats. I have done my fair share of fishing out of one in the past all over the place with a buddy

Yes that is the great thing about them. You can fish anywhere and low maintenance
I have the Pelican Bass Raider 10e and love it!!
It’s an awesome little boat.

I just bought the pond prowler also. I used it once. no problems.
Thats awesome Mike, that is a good buy for the price.
kentucky here no boat / bank fishing is king. I like baitcasters with 6/8 test line. anywhere in ky love to fish when I can God bless and go fish
Thats awesome harold, sounds like your able to get on them. God bless you too, and Thanks bud
Nice video. I knew I saw you at Bass Pro! lol
Thanks bud, dang bud you should of said something. It would of been nice talking to you.
Such a cool little boat.
Can't decide between something like this or a kayak.

thanks. i miss my porta bote.
Your welcome bud
Great Boat . Nice video
Thanks Garry

I have an Ascend 10T but I really really want the Old Town with the trolling motor. Oh I just want want want tho
.......
I'm right there with ya danuelle. That old town would be a fishing machine for a kayak.
Would you say the bass raider or the pond prowler is better?
I love the bass raider and it has more weight capacity. They are about the same price.
If I were to put an outboard on it, would it be a short or long shaft?
I would say a short shaft
Just subscribe to you. I have a kayak but recently got a sundolphin American12. Alot more stable for sure
Oh yeah that will definitely get you out there on the water. Thanks I appreciate it bud
Hey bud i just drove by tracker and lowes and they have a ton in their yard just have to get them shipped
Really? Where are you located bud
@@TBassFactory im all over im a otr truck driver but im located in fl
Thanks for that update David
How come they don't make that boat in a 14ft
I wish they did Robert that would be awesome. They all in 10 or 8 foot lengths
I'm trying to take a look at a paddling boat
This boat you can add a motor unless you prefer paddling
Wonder if this could work in shallow saltwater marsh areas?
Oh yeah, most definitely. Alot of people use these for brackish water and on the flats fora cheap way of getting out there.
Nice Vid still going to bank for awhile, but it is intriguing that 700 plus a trolling motor will get you out there👍
Yeah that is interesting that a 700 or more trolling motor will get you out there.

Check out twin troller x 10
I’m gonna have to check that out thanks bud
Nice video and information too heavy for me still. I am happy just bank fishing
I am too, but seems like it would be a fun project to customize. Thanks joseph
I can't find one anymore here in North Carolina
Yeah, I have heard that from so many people. I talked to a guy that drove 4 hours to go get one. They can’t make them fast enough right now.

Could I use a 30lb thrust trolling motor on this or would that be too small
You could use a 30 thrust still on this one. They only weigh a little over 100 lbs. it is basically like 2 kayaks.
It would do fine for small ponds but it would be best to upgrade to at least a 40lb thrust. I have a 55lb Enduramax with variable speed control. Good speed and great control.
I FISH A 100 ACRE LAKE TROLL ONLY with a 30 lb motor 240 lb guy and I'm the fastest thing out there
i want one so damn bad but in 400lbs alone and dont want to fish alone... i wish they made a 800 pound capacity one....
That would be awesome. I would look at a 12 foot version if they made it. I don't know.why they don't they make 12 foot kayaks.
Untill i get a engine could 2 men use paddles to row this thing
You could but I wouldn’t advise it. That thing is like a barge in the water. Especially with 2 guys in it, but if your floating down a river definitely would be good with paddles.
don't drag it on a rough concrete ramp get a 2 x 6 and put some wheels and loop a rubber bungee around the boat
Yep that will definitely scrape it up
Can you take it into ocean to go crabbing?
I dont see why not it’s super stable and the saltwater won’t affect it.
I want one.
I finally seen one in stock at round Rock bass pro. They are flying out of the stores as soon as they come in.
Can I use it in saltwater
Oh yeah, that plastic is the same as the kayaks. You should have no issues in saltwater
john boat bass hunter sun boat cunu next 3 boat aire fishing boat
Get a Pelican 10E.
Oh yeah. Do you have one.

@ארתור פרידמן Couldn’t agree more.
billed own boat wood old time 10 feet plant boat cunu
Time to leave bps out of the picture.there just a very expensive
Place .over rated.
Yeah everything just keeps going up and up every year
Dont buy it, Had it for 2 months and sidewalls are all bowed in and out. Cheap thin plastic. Dont.
Dang that stinks. I have a buddy that just bought a new one the other day. Thanks for the heads up bud
Also, if you dont drain every time, the peice of OSB on the inside of boat used as a transom will swell and start coming out the drain hole in peices.
Its a total PIECE OF DOGSHIT. Ours split on the contour seams on both sides. Only lasted 4 years.
Dang, only 4 years. That's not good at all
Bidenomics
Yep good ol Biden inflation
You’re wrong. For $700 (price of the boat) you can do $hit. You need to add in trolling motor & battery at the least. Stop lying!
Ok I’ll try. Thank bud.
