Welcome to the flosstube fam! Your wips are beautiful and such a great variety! I adore Contessa with Squid and have a soft spot for your Pokémon piece as I’m doing the gen 1 lord libidan one! Looking forward to your next video ❤
Thank you!! I so appreciate it! I watched your video and wow! You've already done so much on your Pokemon piece! I hope you're able to meet your goal! I did start that piece as well in 2022 but I didn't like how I was stitching it at all. I want to restart it someday but with the color expanded version that's on the Pokemon Cross Stitchers Facebook group.
Congrats on your 1st flosstube! Love seeing all your projects. Waterhouse is a fave of mine too. Can't wait to see those patterns of yours come to life. Have a great week!
I love all your full coverage pieces❤. Have you tried stitching on 22 count hardanger fabric. I used to only stitch on 25 count. One day I tried 22 count and fell in love with it. I only like it if I am stitching full coverage.
The Golden Kite piece is most likely AI generated, hence no artist listing. No judgment - I’m stitching an AI GK piece while watching you. But I wouldn’t mind if they were more transparent about this issue. Anyway, thanks for your Flosstube - you have lots of lovely pieces. ❤
I did look into this right after filming this video and found the artist Jerry Vanderstelt. But your comment made me want to look into it more. It was originally painted in 2000 and commissioned by the makers of the Lord of the Rings films. The first film came out in 2001. So he got to see Rivendell before everyone else! He has a ton more LOTR pieces on his website and is still an official and licensed artist for the LOTR! He's also an official licensed artist for Lucasfilm so he has a ton of Star Wars pieces as well. Looking at his Instagram he actually has a post from over a year ago saying that he believes AI art is theft and dislikes it. Because he feels that way I wouldn't want people thinking that his art that he says he's spent honing is AI. I absolutely agree that companies need to be transparent about that! But this does lead me to wonder if Golden Kite is paying for the usage of his art since they're not crediting him. That icks me out. I'm going to reach out to him and see if he's getting paid for the use of his art on their site. I don't know why they wouldn't have his name on there unless they're being sketchy. Anyway. You sent me down this rabbit hole and I thought I'd share my findings! Sorry for the novel lol Thank you! I'm sure what you're stitching is lovely too! Do you choose the versions with blends or without? I'm curious.
@@gisellesgarden I’m pleased to hear that. I bought a (blended) pattern from GK and was really bummed to discover it was AI. It’s a tribute piece and I had spent heaps kitting it up (matching projects bags amongst other things) so I decided to proceed, but am still feeling the hurt. Esp as I know my late sister (for whom I’m stitching this) would much prefer to support an artist as opposed to a computer tech…
@@alexandramerrett1623 I'm so sorry to hear about your sister! I can't imagine she'd blame you for simply being human. You can't know everything. And Golden Kite doesn't disclose which really bothers me. I'm sorry you're hurt. But it will be beautiful and I hope you can enjoy the process! I don't know if I want to buy from Golden Kite anymore. They go to such lengths to protect their own work (password protecting and all that), and they charge an arm and a leg for their work but aren't caring that AI hurts real artist and they don't disclose AI. That feels really icky to me. I think Artecy is a great example of using AI art. I don't agree with their decision to do so, but they make it very clear who the artist and creator of everything is and I really appreciate that.
Welcome to Flosstube!
Sluagh looks amazing! I can't not wait till it's available in Kayli's shop! 😍😍

I love those owls so much! I am having the hardest time figuring out how the chart all goes together.
