Even though I can barely afford it Iracing is my sim of choice because I want a realistic NASCAR experience and no other sim or game comes close to it.
I've been playing racing games since the earlier 90s. In 2011, I bought a Log Driving Force GT. Huge difference up from a controller. In 2015, I wanted an actual shifter so I got a G25. Huge step up from the DFGT (the resistive pedals were a huge difference). This wheel made me realize that you need a mount for it (to me, clamping it to the desk was okay but i'd have to mount/unmount every time I wanted to use it). In 2019, I bought a G29 and a mount from ebay for $60 (is a very decent mount, better than I expected). This setup for me is awesome for the money. I'm not invested in it enough to justify going Fanatec/Thrustmaster. I'd recommend at least a Logi G29/920 and a mount.
@@zoopremetv As a newcomer, I'm liking ACC the most. AC and Dirt Rally 2 have been fun too, but ACC is the one that's really doing it for me. I'm considering iRacing, and will definitely be picking up AC Eve when it drops in January. It's such a great time to be into Sim Racing, we have so many great options.
I'm not sure if others mentioned, but Project Cars 2 is still a great sim, though my go-to's are iRacing and F1 2023. For some reason just never got into ACC a lot. VR 100% for me.
Would love to try out VR some time! Project Cars 1 was a great game for me and really introduced me to "simulator" style games.. I'm sure PC2 is only an improvement on that!
I fell down the rabbit hole…started off with the MOZA r5 bundle…took it back for a refund and went crazy. Mcclaren wheel, bmw wheel, csl dd 8nm, v3 peddles, hp reverb g2, RTX 4090, ryzen 7800x3d. Iracing…Save me. 😢
Thanks! Dirt Rally 2.0 is a FANTASTIC rally game. Probably one of the best. Richard Burns Rally is another more realistic rally game and its free I believe! I didnt play much of Project Cars 2 but I havent heard great things. Graphics were incredible though!
'Simracing' is a wide area: motorcycle-, boat-, air racing? And even if this is about cars, the simulations you recommend are not suitable for TCR or rally. You should be more specific in your title.
I absolutely agree. I have been very ignorant in regards to motorcycles and rally. A few of these titles have TCR (ie. iRacing). Thanks for the tip! Let me know what titles I have missed?
lol with over 8yrs of sim racing experience. over 2750hrs on ACC alone Racing in all the different types of sims from F1,Ac1, Gt7,RRE, RF2, AM2, Iracing has,by far giving me some of the best sim racing experience hands down of all. IR is expensive in comparison. but far from trash imo and in someways the price can be totally justified. as it’s also the only sim to pay you to race. in a sense the monthly sub can be free as long as your racing. Your Only paying for the content that you keep forever. When you want to race online you pay 10$. Money goes to support there insane amount of online servers. Huge dev team and consistent game development… Playing on console all have fees for joining/playing online. But iracing 10$ too expensive. In some case i don’t understand how ppl spend 1000’s - 10,000+ on sim gear but the actual simulator 10$ is to much. and if you not racing costing you nothing.
I look at iRacing like a club I’ve joined. With most clubs be at a gym or golf or a country or whatever it’s gonna cost to be a member . IRacing is just the best organized online racing platform there is hands-down. to help keep cost down you can take advantage of their year-end special offers and renew for a year at a huge discount. And then it helps to know what kind of racing you wanna do and stick with it. Otherwise you’re gonna end up buying a bunch of cars and tracks you’re not gonna use
Oh, and I should add games like F1, Gran Turismo, Forza, etc. etc. you have to re-buy at full cost whenever they upgrade. I’ve never on a Sony so I’m not sure about GT but I am about F1

Agreed! Nascar is great in iracing and im yet to find another sim or game that compares!

I also had a G25 it was great for a few years! But yes mounting the wheel to something makes everything a little more solid
As a newcomer, I'm all in. GT Omega Hybrid cockpit, simagic alpha, gt neo, moza srp's. Absolutely loving every minute of it!
Ohhh I love the dedication!! Whats your sim of choice?

This was such a perfect video for newcomers. Thank you for putting this together for them!
Thanks!
it’s daunting! the cost alone. but the games are so much fun even on a controller - so i can’t imagine how they drive with the right gear!
These days the immersion is so close to teal life now!
Great video. I'm not rich, so iRacing is out, but I do run all the well-priced games. Just about to step up to a load cell brake, thanks.
Great stuff Rob! Any questions let me know!

It's so EASY to slip down the rabbit hole haha!
Sounds like a good setup you have - and with a 4090!
I cannot save you now, you're on a journey
haha...
Wish I had this when I started
Yeah great video fella. Perfect for newcomers.
Glad you think so!
Nice vid. Thoughts on Project Cars 2 & DiRT Rally 2.0?
Thanks!

Great Content ✨👍
Thank you 🙌
Iracing is trash its way too expensive
It is definitely expensive. But hours spent vs dollars spent makes it very worthwhile to me!
