Excellent game played by both the players. Mr Fernandes's accuracy in shot execution was probably better but technically Mr Prashant was always better and in my opinion, he won because of all round better performance, may it be shot selection, shot execution, technically. Breaks by both the players were marvellous, lovable.
we played this game as I was growing up (70'S) but we called the game "KnockKnock." and it was played like 8-ball pool, but we still called the board Carrom board. We had a different style of launching the plastic rings, but it was all the same.
Never seen or heard of this before, seemingly like a lot of other people here, but pretty sure we'll all be seeing each other soon after days of Carrom binging.
This is one game Indians are really the best in the world at. It should be introduced in the Olympics. Major competitors will be SL or France. But we will prevail. ❤️
Used to play that when I was a kid although the board wasn't as slick as this one pictured. My grandmother was the only person I ever knew that had a Carrom board
I'm watching this match for the 10th time and each time I watch this match I get to learn new things and Pm sir is outstanding player and it seems Louis sir has very aggressive game play which we often don't see in regular matches ..
Maybe my grandma wanted this game to be more challenging so she taught us striking coin directly which is on the line where you place striker and striking coins which is behind your line is not allowed only way to touch that is strike should be rebounded, Hitting directly to opponent coin to get your coin to hole is not allowed, if you pot your striker or opponent coin to hole you have to place back one of your potted coin on board... Well this gameplay looks easy(of course I'm not good as those professionals but game play is easy).
Played this as a kid in suburban CA back in the 70s/80s. City set of older kids at schools with games, balls, etc. for the younger kids to have a place to play and hang out over the summer. Good memories...
After school, when they still had after-school playground directors in 1969, we played carrom with small wooden sticks at John Muir Elementary in Berkeley, CA. I never imagined anyone played this game at a competitive level.
This is also quite popular in Indonesia especially with the middle-aged men in suburbs. We add ball to the name tho, so we call it Karambol (Carrom-ball)
It's easy. U have one striker coin(large one). And equal no of white and black coins. Now upon toss it is decided who gets white and who gets black. Say u got white u have to hole all the white coins before ur opponent does with black and if u do first u won the game/ set. Ho also there is a red coin in the center which both the players can try to hole it and it gives additional points.
