They made a filler arc that goes over Ibiki’s backstory episode 95-100 or sometime around there in the og series. Go watch that if any of y’all really want to see that

To debate the side of characters being under utilized.. I agree that side characters backstories shouldn’t take away from the canonical story line but due to the amount of uninteresting filler Naruto gives us. They could’ve used those episodes to tell side character stories/ missions. The best filler in Naruto are the kakashi and itachi tales for a reason.

What's crazy about Orochimaru is. Dude is honestly JUST an instigator in his adult life. It wasn't even about world domination. His original intention was to learn every jutsu to protect people since he was an orphan raised by Hiruzen after his parents died. In fact Hiruzen told him white snakes symbolized fortune and rebirth (another reason people don't bring up about why Hiruzen shouldn't be allowed to raise orphans or teach them ANYTHING). In order to learn everything, he needed to be immortal. He just got lost in the sauce and became a war criminal so he could learn every jutsu by ANY means necessary.
The orochimaru part is definitely true, I was rewatching the flashback scene and those deaths and seeing how fragile humans are played a big part in why he initially chased immortality
Didn't Minato suffer a big mental nerf after finding out that Obito was behind the war? He had to be rescued at one point since he was so out of focus because of that. So I think that might have factored a bit in why he did not do as much in the 4th Great Ninja War.

And Naruto wasn't stronger than Sasuke, he just has a more destructive Jutsu. The chidori is a stabbing attack while the rasengan is a grinding. Naruto was forced to wipe that jutsu out since Sasuke was destroying his clones easily. If Sasuke was on the ground he would have just dodged it and the fight would have gone on

Naruto didn't say he couldn't beat Sasuke in that scene, he said he needed more than just strength to fight him and had to confront hatred which is different from saying he couldn't beat him, Sasuke was at a disadvantage in the fight due to him losing his eyesight and chakra( still hadn't mastered Susanoo yet either)so Naruto would of handled him without much difficulty.

And Naruto wasn't stronger than Sasuke, he just has a more destructive Jutsu. The chidori is a stabbing attack while the rasengan is a grinding. Naruto was forced to wipe that jutsu out since Sasuke was destroying his clones easily. If Sasuke was on the ground he would have just dodged it and the fight would have gone on
