IMHO, play volatile machines at the end of the month, not at the beginning. Also times of day playing can be factored in, as well as denomination. If .50 is the highest denom of the game it pays better, than if $1 is highest. $.50 is a sando on many machines. 100% agree! I won't dump more than a few hundred dollars into a machine that isn't paying out at least something. When that happens you're hitting a rut in the random generator. As a software developer I've seen this many times where a random number generator can tend to hang out in a certain range and in the case of slot machines that range is a set of results which equates to losses.
