"Family gambling night" cracks me up. The family that gambles together...stays together. Edit, agree 100% about the tipping and it's something I've tried to keep in check especially at the black jack table. If I leave down I'm not leaving an additional tip, but I periodically make bets for the dealers during the session. Bottom line you have to pay yourself first.

I will never understand compulsory tipping. Why in the world do I need to tip the person that brings my hand pay??? That’s literally their job with a standard wage.
Don’t feel too bad about not tipping. It’s your choice. But just to let you know, I worked for a well known casino, and in cases, casinos have a tip pool. Once the team member receives a tip, they go to the casino cashier, and deposit the received tip into a locked box, which will be counted at the end of the shift. The tips will be divided among all the slot members and paid out on their paychecks. The team members will be taxed on their tips.
It’s same thing as going to a bar! You get a drink and leave a tip. They are not making $25 plus an hour and the tips help them. It’s called courtesy. If you were a casino, you’d want a tip too.
