    I like the tip about retaining heat. I usually try to cool down then zip up. But never thought about retaining it as soon as i get in stand. Thanks

    Now that's a DIALED system. I look forward to the day mine is that tight. You can tell the experience and care that has gone into developing a well designed system.

    Great video....a similar video on your saddle setup and your climbing process would be awesome! I’m thinking I’m going to make the switch to a saddle for next season and it would be very helpful!

    I strap my bow to my pack to climb as well. Saves me something else I don't have to keep up with and not another rope dangling while climbing.

    That’s a lot of stuff to carry. I carry a bit of food, water, a bow hanger, flashlight and a saw. Any extra layers strap to my stand. I don’t even carry a pack anymore. So much simpler for me.

    If you decide to hunt NY with your current gear make sure to contact the DEC. they have a vague law that states you cannot hunt with equipment that uses a laser. Since that is how a laser rangefinder finds its distance it could be some gray area with a bow mounted rangefinder.

    I moved to Texas this year and the state kind of forces you to be mobile while hunting public land because you can't leave a setup for more than 72 hours in most places, some spots you have to take it down at the end of the hunt. I feel like switching to the saddle would be best because carrying in and out my hang on stand is a bit cumbersome, but those saddle kits are expensive!

    • @markw176

      Still much better than having a pack strapped to a climber! Also I really like how that pack opens with easy access to different parts of it. Nothing worse than having to dig to bottom to look for something

      @@BeauMartonik wow, I couldn’t imagine walking to the stand with only 8lbs. That would be amazing. I swear it seems like my backpack weighs 30 or 40 lbs and my tree stand is almost another 20lbs. It’s a struggle every hunt, I’ve got to get a saddle and lighter weight gear.

    Love the setup I’ve been reluctant to switch over to the saddle just because of how extremely complex it seems.

    • @lukechilders4122
      @lukechilders4122 3 года назад

      From my experience, it’s only complex as you make it. If you won’t to trick out your setup with climbing style or accessories, that will make it more complex

    I am definitely looking for a high value meat 🥩 hauler day pack for being mobile and if I take a deer 🦌 deep in I can pack it out instead of dragging it out.
    I also recently ordered a Tethrd ESS saddle kit. Looking forward to trying it out this year

    How do you load your quarters into this pack?

    • @BeauMartonik
      @BeauMartonik  Год назад

      The frame and bag separate where there's a small "shelf" that you can place the meat on. I will say that it's not the ideal meat hauling pack. Now, I typically will just throw one quarter in there and then come back with a dedicated frame pack that I use elk hunting for the rest of the deer.

      @@BeauMartonik I'm assuming you're fairly brand loyal, but I also hunt in PA and have used my Stone Glacier Solo 3300 for multiple pack-outs. Last year I had 100 lbs on the pack (I weighed it). That included the quartered deer, tree stand, bow, gear. It was a fairly short pack out, but nearly killed me! Packing out deer is like carrying groceries in from the car. Nobody wants to make a second trip.
