Pennsylvania hunting is something you really don't understand until you do it... not just once either.. we will spend our whole lives hunting here and still not experience it all
I grew up in Tioga County, now live in eastern KY - these woods will work you. I only ground hunt from natural elevations. This makes PA rather tame... although the woods there are nice! Hoping to hunt in the 700,000 acres of the Daniel Boone National Forest this year! Good luck this year!
Good to match the mustache with the voice from your podcast. Congratulations on such a beast. The Monarch of the PA mountains ⛰. I actually bought my first PA license including a doe stamp for 2B, and a pheasant stamp. Sadly I never got to set foot in the state and I live across the border in the northern panhandle of WV. Hopefully I can get out for spring turkey to at least justify some of the $185 cost.
Watching this from camp. There's definitely a connection between PA mountain hunters, even if they haven't met. Everyone seems to feel the same way if they caught the bug.
I'm from NJ but I love to go up to Little Meadows in Susquehanna County every year to hunt. I hunt NJ and Bucks County Pa but my favorite by far is the mountains of Pa. It just has everything I love, the mountains, the hardwoods, the deer, often snow and the beautiful scenery.
There is something special about trekking into the Appalachian wilds on a hunt. It's a test of your mental and physical toughness as well as a unique way to connect with the land. The animal itself is only part of the experience; looking out at a sunrise or sunset and just listening to nature miles away from another person always keeps me finding new landscape features back in the mountain for new challenges. Good to see it represented here.
Can't wait. I spent a day with Steve Sherk in the ANF. I myself hunt the southern end. I see what you two see, while I scout and hunt. BTW, from my Mantis, on my Predator. Keep up your passion.
I think we all wish we had a video documentary of our seasons threw out the years. At least I do. To be old in our golden years and look back on every season from now till then would be pretty dang cool. Well done 👏
As I get older & things require more effort, it would be nice to look back, especially when this ride ends, at the majesty of the parts of the parts involved in hunting that we all took for granted, the friendships, food, weather, camaraderie etc...
Congratulations on a great buck! I am a PA public school teacher with over an hour drive to work and I look forward to listening to your podcasts on my drive. Thank you for all that you do. Keep up the great work!
The PA Wilds has some of the best recreational opportunities in the mid-Atlantic whether it be up a tree, holding a rod, or putting miles on the boots. Great film!
You had me right at your first words. I love being in the forest, surrounded by nature, towering trees and wildlife. I wish I had had that upbringing into hunting from a young age. My father did immersed our family into nature, mostly fishing and camping but now in my 30’s I’m adding hunting to the mix. Super pumped but also super nervous for that first arrow fling. I’m hoping to saddle hunt, so a big thanks for this giveaway as to a limited budget, so thank you. And, oh man, nice buck and washed it clean. Great film and story also excellent podcast. 🍻
Great video Beau! Exactly the same type hunting in Southwest Virginia Thomas Jefferson and George Washington NF. I would love to see a true Appalachian long hunter style backcountry hunt, backpacking style. I’ve done several 3 day hunts successfully unsuccessful🤫. Thanks for representing a huge portion of eastern hunters that never get respect outside of forums and RUclips.
Nice job on the coyote. I started at age 12 in 1947 in N C PA, our camp is near Driftwood in Cameron County. I have never hunted archery, but if starting over i no doubt would. There are actually more nice bucks today than when i started hunting, no doubt antler restrictions have helped with that. The coyotes have altered deer movements, especially older bucks.
Great film about chasing mountain bucks. Congrats Beau on a well deserved monarch! Also the Johnny Stewart needs to start a podcast, dude cracks me up!
The thrill of hunting Pa. big woods out of a cabin with family and friends who are hard core hunters and help each other out and celebrate each success is the best. Really enjoyed the video.
Awesome deer! It takes some serious knowledge and dedication to kill mature bucks constantly in the PA big woods like you guys do. Keep up the great work.
I spent a lot of time hunting the suburbs and small pockets this year. I told my wife I need to get back in the big woods. This just cemented that! Awesome video
As someone who took a long hiatus from hunting here in PA, videos like this and the podcasts are so helpful. It's been great getting back out and going through the process.
Beau, love the podcast and the videos. While I don't hunt in the big woods of PA, where I do hunt in western PA is very similar to the big woods. Your tips and tactics have been very helpful. Keep up the good work. You put out some great content.
Ive hauled a few mountain bucks out in PA by canoe and boat but yet have to swim one across a river. Looks like I got a new goal for 2021! Great vid and congrats on that Yote and Buck!
Pennsylvania hunting is something you really don't understand until you do it... not just once either.. we will spend our whole lives hunting here and still not experience it all
Nothing compares to hunting whitetail in PA's big woods. Challenging is an understatement
