- Finding a good spot is one thing, but how do you set up so that you don't spook the deer with your scent? In this video, I explain the basics of wind and thermals, how bucks are using them, whether you should set up above or below the trail, and how to access your hunting location in the big woods. Pennsylvania public land is a giant playground, so vast, unlike 30 years ago, now there are some good bucks all over the state, a hang & hunt paradise. We are lucky to be around in this era.
Pa is very underrated for big mature bucks, especially in and around the Allegheny National Forest. Some of the biggest bucks we mount have come from there!
Hunt in the high ground at daylight and valleys drainage in the evening. Hot weather hunt shading side if possible, opposite side in cold especially if the sun is shining. Works about anywhere it’s not flat lol.
There is a little more to it than that. Cloud cover, tree canopy, water, shade all play a role.

To be fair, it's more for ppl who want to invest in speeding up the process. Ppl who invest in themselves don't waste money on free information.
@@casanovafrankenstein8875 People that invest in themselves is always looking to get better and you can always learn something new ,I have been hunting in PA for 34 yrs and have harvested many deer including a nice 8 pt last week on my first sit of the season .I hunt the farms of Western PA mostly but I do hunt up north in the mountains and have harvested bucks there as well, but I'm always looking to get better because we are always learning. Just like any athlete playing sports you should always be looking to up your game .

what benefit do you find with spartan forge over OnX or have you never used OnX? i havent used spartan im jw if its better or if its all similar really.
I used onX for many years, and it's not a bad app. Spartan Forge is much easier to use with less buttons to get the job done, really good aerial imagery, LiDAR mapping, more accurate slope angle, really nice weather data, and their deer intel prediction that is based off actual data (not someone's opinion).
