You see Grubby, Control Groups are never explained in the game in any tutorial.
Is the manual included digitally? I think the jewel case insert explains queuing orders and control groups 😢

As someone that plays with the editor a lot bladestorm isn’t a transformation. It basically is an immolate that turns off your auto attack damage and makes you magic immune. If you give it to something that doesn’t have a spin animation it looks like they’re just standing there. The bladestorm effect is actually part of the blademaster animation not a separate special effect.
Yeah lol thank you. I like it when people who are new to the editor give bladestorm to Arthas (wielding Frostmourne) and expect him to spin madly and get frustrated when it doesn't happen lol

4:45 warmill, I remember when i used to play as a kid that i placed the 🪵🪓 far away like this. I just got a noob flashback. My thought process was that i can return to great hall fast and then when i clear the trees i could move my peons to the area with 🌲 near the mill. I also used to have 2-3 warmills when i had wood problems, if all the trees were cleared out, i would male a closer war mill. ALSO, as I've been watching you/Grubby and seeing thay you only need one, my childhood strategy seemed so, well childish.

I ought to try this. I've always only played single player, I thought any WC3 battlenet game I tried would be so sweaty and unfun. Watching Grubby do things "the right way" is fun, but goofy stuff like this is exactly what I want to do.

i have had wc3 since 03, but i nerver was good, and didnt play all the time, but man i just learned how to do control groups from you and omg, game changer
We don't make units because we want to keep extra resources 'just in case' for upgrades or a change of plan. It's a safety deposit because you don't know the game well enough to know what counters what. Also, it's simply a micro skill issue. You're busy thinking about other things that pros have gotten down as muscle memory, so you've got less energy/time/room to think about larger game strategies.

Love your videos! Especially these bronze heros and your bloody beginner ones. Use to play wc3 as a kid and watching has made me want to play more again and get a lot better too. Iv only played on battle net vs ai and the more I watch makes me want to try pvp, looks like fun. How does one go about playing on W3 champions? Would you need to buy the game again since it's not through battle net?

I think they put the lumber mill there, so they can place t2 builds, or to not block the units if you backup in to your base

Autoattacking during bladestorm is intended since in other blizzard games characters that have bladestorm can autoattack during the cast, really I'm more surprised that blademaster autos don't do full damage during bladestorm

With the aoe effect of FW and tower faster demolish MW, this strat is kinda good to play fast, but really need huge resources to do that, also need some corpses nearby to maximize the MW potency, idk which hero should be compatible with this strat, but i think the vampiric aura hero (forgot the name sorry) imo is really good to me, cz he also summon golem, maybe the archer (traxex or smth) with precision aura passive is another good choice for this strat

Is there a way to drop a selected unit from any control groups they are in fast?
The point is, there is "shift" to add to control group, and "ctrl" to redefine the whole group. When I pull back my wounded units I need to press a group button, shift click all units I want out, and then ctrl to redefine the group without those units. But there has to be some other way?

36:26 in League, most of the time when people forfeit early it's because they dont want to play that game anymore. they dont like their team, or they are too strongly hardcountered (which easily happens all the time in randoms in League, from what i understand about DOTA 2 this isnt as big of a deal in randoms), or the matchmaking was just clearly having poor quality at that time and the elo difference is way too big (also happens all the time in League). in SC1 and SC2, not leaving past a certain point is actually kind of seen as pretty _bad mannered_ because its disrespectful to your opponent who has "clearly won" past a certain point. most of the time the only race in SC1 you dont see leave when they are below 50 supply is Zerg because in SC1 its actually kind of still possible to come back from that position as Zerg because of how crazy things like Defiler and Lurker defense can be, though usually if the Z has lost 2 or 3 bases at that point it's pretty much not possible even in this situation because you simply won't be able to climb back up in supply at all even with the power of Defilers and Lurkers since you wont really have the money or larva to do so.

You are correct, but you are asking for logic at bronze which doesn't apply.
Maybe afraid it would prompt a switch to batriders? But yeah as soon as I suspect wyvern I’m getting a handful of gargs, and he would have crushed it if he got 10+ gargs in the mid or even late game there.
To be fair though if he had actually mined his 2nd expo and used his gold earlier to make 3x fiend and 2x wyrm up to 80 or so food, he also would have easily won.

There is some point in not making many units because unit ai is trash and because they are themselves very bad at unit control, those units are just exp boots and that's end game

It's funny to me that most WC3 players lose in forfiet, because its one of the most glaring flaws of this game. Not the behavior of the players! I'm glad they do that. It's the fact that the only Win Condition is to destroy all the enemies buildings. That's not a good way of winning at all

What should i do as orc against pala rifle? All my units seem completely useless , and i cant kill a single riflemen even tho the pop is the same, while rifles smash everyone in a seconds

I have to say, I didn't understand why so many people forfeit either. I'm also a noob in WC3 and, even though it sounds silly, it does take a certain level of game knowledge to realize that you lost the game. But of course, there is always a chance that this guy was just trolling lol
I come form a background of playing League of Legends and Smite and things do look different there, as far as forfeiting goes. First, it doesn't really pay off to forfeit a game after 15-20 minutes, when I've been waiting in queue for like 5 minutes and then had another 10 minutes long draft process. Second, I never understood when people want to forfeit after 30-40 minutes, because at that point enemy team's lead is getting smaller and we are catching up. And lastly, I've played so many matches where my team lost 6-7 team fights, but the enemy team wasn't able to close out the game, so we eventually got to full build and won a game from being severely behind. I don't even want to mention the situations where, even though the enemy team is winning, they have some internal issue and one of their players starts feeding, trolling or just disconnects (and I've also won so many games 4v5 or even 3v5 if we have a lot of aoe dmg and good sustain).
thats why Grubster made distinction between 5v5 LoL's and 1v1 SC2/WC3. more people you have, more chance for screwing up your success

I think the idea is that early Blade Master harass is worth the trade off.
Early gold is more valuable than late gold, so people often sell TP early with the idea of buying it back later.
In the case of a BM, if you’re not going to have units for a while anyways then a circlet is much better than a TP for harassing/creeping. And you can pick up a tele staff which pretty much serves the same purpose as a TP while also being reusable.
