This different type of shroom level is the reason why I keep watching Ryu's MM videos none-stop. Is just too priceless to get to see Ryu going through hot garbages. No other game can really top this.
Just checked that Shroom level, and Ryu left that "why" comment FIFTY-TWO days ago. He really records stuff VERY much in advance. That said, the clear-check time for said level was just over 5 minutes.
Given the amount of content he puts out, I would be surprised if he doesn’t always have at least a good amount in the can in the event he can’t record on schedule.
21:59 Ice Sign "Icicle Fall" is one of Cirno's attacks from Touhou 6. They did a reasonable job of recreating it here. It's infamous for being completely cheeseable on the Easy difficulty in that game, because there's a huge safe spot right in front of the boss where the icicles will just completely miss you. Although, the Icicle Fall done here more matches the Normal difficulty one.

I love that Ryu is not cocky about his skills. He can play these super hard kaizo Mario rom hacks with super precise spinning double shell midair upside down jumps with wind carrying a POW leading to a P Switch Trump Jump where he can't touch the ground while dodging Kamek fire and Bullet Bills, but then does a spin jump from a Mecha Koopa to a Monty Mole in this video and is like "HOW DID THAT WORK?!?!" Never change Ryu.
Do an endless 100 man super expert , where you wil carry your remaining lives on after you beat it until you have no lives and see how many levels you cleared compared to endless from smm2

For the 100th Episode Spectacular, you could do an Endless SMM2 run, clear 5 stages, and then use the remaining amount of lives as your starting point for a SMM1 run and see if you can make it to the end

"I have 3 lives left or I have to play this level again." That is the most meta thing I think Ryu has ever said. He basically said, " I am contractually obligated as a youtuber to beat this level regardless of whether or not I beat the challenge. Please for the love of god, let me beat it without starting over."
Also, just to point something out. In Mario Maker 1, you start with 100 lives to beat 6 Super Expert levels. In Mario Maker 2, you start Super Expert Endless with 30 lives. The goal is always to beat at least 6 levels since that was the goal in MM1. At the end of the 6th level, Ryu had 30 lives. So he had the equivalent of a perfect run in MM1 up to that point.
Ryu's struggle and frustration on that level is basically mine on every other level that he easily flies through without issue. Welcome to my world, Ryu. 😫

I'm pretty sure it was. It kind of felt like a dark souls level in that it was annoyingly unfair to the player, but intentionally so.

the thing with super expert is either you beat it, or you run into a 'life burner' which takes hundreds of tries. giving more lives rarely helps
