I don’t think I can go on a Christmas cruise, since I’ve got three small grandchildren! Looks like a lovely day. Like the idea of the departmental Christmas trees, and food looks great. Santa on top of a tender boat is priceless!
Stunning bay, pity the water was so cold. I understand about Petra as we enjoyed that same moment at the end of the Siq, although a camel barged me out of its way as I was getting the first glimpse of the Treasury. The only thing that topped it was the excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. Pity about Whistling Rock, we have the same with Rainbow Falls in Hilo Hawaii. I feel for you about being away at Christmas as I am not at all sure about doing that. Cunard gave us gifts as we went around but they seemed quite random in terms of the timing. I wonder if anyone voted for the guest services tree
I can sympathise with Carols mixed emotions on Xmas day....I've often thought getting away at Xmas would be nice...but then I think about my family 🥺. Was pleasantly surprised to see Sid James on that billboard in Esperance 😉
I want to say i have watched your blog on Iona and I have booked my first time on Iona for October 7 days to Germany, Netherlands holland belgium . im a solo traveller and managed to get a good deal on a standard balcony room. Thanks for sharing your blog it really helps to get to know the ship before my cruise if you have any tips or suggestions I would appreciate it.
I had the same problem with the wine on my Celebrity Eclipse cruise, no Australian or New Zealand wines which was such a shame as they are so good. Looking forward to the next episode 😊
I'm glad you were able to go ashore in Esperance. During our Queen Elizabeth cruise last December, we couldn't go ashore as it was too windy to lower the tenders. Anyway, as we live in Perth, we can always drive down there (about a 7-hour drive.) The Australian Bight is always rough. I suffer badly from seasickness so I took an Avomine (from the purser's desk) every night and I was fine. I'm really enjoying your Australian adventure.
Enjoyed your Christmas Eve/day aboard Azamara, would love a paddle in the beautiful sea😊 Shed a tear with you Carole, that's what Christmas does at home or away ! Take care .
Hey guys. Hello from Massachusetts. We enjoyed your episode. 35 days til our next cruise is TOO LONG. Anyway, sitting here in our living room watching, my wife made the comment that she's not sure she could do a Christmas cruise. I said perhaps after our kid's families all move away -which I doubt would ever happen. So we said, probably not. About 5 min later, you Carole, you had your moment. We felt your sadness. But thank you for the great entertainment. Use guys are great. Keep up the great work.
I felt emotional with you, Carole! We're a military family, so we have had to miss Christmas with family and you just never get used to it. It can be very hard. Loving this series ☺️💕🎄
We did last Christmas and New Years on the Oceania Riviera for 12 days and it was very nice. We don't usually get with any family at Christmas so it was nothing strange. The ship was full at a little over 1100 with a max capacity of 1230, but, it never ever seemed crowded at all. This is a gorgeous video.
Thanks so much Lou! It was strange how emotional I was, think we had been away from home so long too and so far away. Can understand why people love Christmas cruising but this year we will definitely spending it at home.
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel It's funny how some things hit us emotionally without any warning. I know that as I have gotten older, I am much more emotional about things. When I am giving presentations to Rotary Clubs I have to avoid talking about certain things because I just can't get thru them.
We did the reverse trip from Sydney to Perth in February and the included wines were……….Australian!!! Lovely seeing your vlog, brought back so many memories, loved the living room would walk in each afternoon, big wave from Kat the fantastic singer and then the bar staff would hold up a bottle of Becks and gesture me to sit down they would bring it over, maybe our favorite cruise so far from the stops, the crew, the food and the surprisingly good entertainment, although Alaska on the Queen Elizabeth was memorable as well, looking forward to more on this journey as it brings so many memory’s back for us as well…….Great stuff👍
I hate to see you upset Carole it brought a tear to my eye, I know I would be the same if I was away from home at Christmas. It all looked lovely on the ship and I’m glad you enjoyed your excursions
Thank you for another wonderful vlog! Carole, when you started getting emotional then I (Jen) started the tears! You and Pauli Morgan are blessed to have family close by❤️. I think it’s tough to travel during Christmas….we’ve done once before, and I’m not sure we’ll do it again. (Unless we can travel with our adult kids 😊)….then it would be fun.
Do love your vlogs……the Lucky bay beach you went to looked absolutely stunning…the water soo blue….and I’ve seen some beaches in my time….Valley Church beach (Antigua)…or Barbados …Bermuda has some of the loveliest beaches too…and water not so chilly(at the right time of year).. Hubb’s loves a thatchers gold and I love a nice wine….(im Wiltshire born and bred) x
When I saw the Merry Christmas from the staff I found myself looking to see if I could see frowning faces from Guest Services Staff that were a problem for you.
Loved this Xmas vlog from you both,Can you tell me what seasickness tablets you take? and can you still drink alcohol with them?I'm asking as I was very bad with seasickness on my last cruise,I only wore the wrist bands that didn't work,so I had to go to the sick bay for an injection, that did the job!..I understand how been away from family at Xmas time can be emotional, Ive spent 5 Xmas's away from family over the years..
Thanks Margaret it is hard being away at Christmas but we were both surprised how hard it was being our first time, We take Sturgeron or Meclazine , They do advise not to drink as it can make you drowsy

Lol a camel pushed you out if the way, though they can be scary! 🐪🤣 They definitely didn't get our vote!
If Emma can have her "Britishism of the week", you can have your Carol-isms!
Lol we could! 🤣
Aww, you are so sweet when you show your emotions Carole!
She is sweet all the time😍😍😍 but i am biased 😆
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel Yes she is sweet all the time, I just felt emotional with her in that moment

That did make us LOL! It was a strange one for sure, definitely home for Christmas this year!
What gorgeous blues! I would love to be on a cruise over Christmas, but I would definitely want to have my kids with me.
It is such a beautiful part of the world! It was hard being away from family so would definitely recommend taking them with you! 😀

Oh really, so frustrating and such a simple fix!
I guessed the film you were gonna watch as hot fuzz!! Wrong again! 😂xx
LOL sorry Nat! 😂😂

Esperance was fabulous, we love how you Aussies talk about a 7 hour drive like its just around the corner, The Australian Bight definitely bit us!!
OMG! The color of that water ❤️
It was just amazing!

No way you had Australian wine, very jealous. Agree the bar staff on Azamara are top notch! Alaska is on our to do list!

Thanks Yvonne, it was such a weird one, a real emotional rollercoaster!
Caroles little random audible sigh makes me smile. 😅
Absolutely love following you guys on your travels
Thanks Jeff thats great to hear!
So enjoy your perspective, you always try to be honest but fair. I’m not a wine drinker so won’t worry about that when we go! Lol
Thanks for your kind comments, we always tell it how it is

We usually use sea bands that way we can still have adult libations 🍹🍺 😆
We've never tried the bands, sounds like we need to get some!
When I saw the Merry Christmas from the staff I found myself looking to see if I could see frowning faces from Guest Services Staff that were a problem for you.
LOL there were so many groups of staff we could of included just picked a few!
Merry Christmas 🎄
