  • It’s just six months until the 2024 Paris Olympics, and this episode gives insider knowledge into Olympic Gold Medallist diver, Matty Lee’s training programme, finds out what it was like to work with Tom Daley and hears how he is preparing for the next competition.
Matty Lee is a British diver and Olympic Gold Medallist who competed alongside Tom Daley. Together they won gold in the synchronized 10 metre platform event in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Matty opens up about his journey as a diver, from winning gold to his tough fitness regime and strict lifestyle. He talks about the highs and lows of being a top athlete and what it was like to go on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Matty explains the dynamics of competing with both Tom Daley and his most recent diving partner Noah Williams now that Daley has returned to diving after a two-year break.
He also shares the heart-breaking experience of losing his dad, how the sudden loss affected his mental health and how friend and diving partner Tom Daley helped him battle through the grief.

Matty is such a genuine guy. I love his and Tom's friendship and how it speaks to how down to earth and dedicated they both are in their sport. I am so sorry to hear of Matty's father passing. Matty is fortunate to have Tom as a friend and having watched Tom for years on youtube, you know Tom is right there comforting Matty. A great friendship and I can't wait for the Olympics!

I am gutted. Is it true that Matty won't be competing with Tom? This is heartbreaking? They are such a wonderful team and friends. Is it true that he is injured and on Feb 8 they have to go to the world championships feb 8 and place in top 7 and TOm is competing with Noah. So sad. Tom is a superstar and n othing against Noah. But Matty is awesome with Tom - they have a great friendship.

Hopefully this unsatisfyingly distant interviewing format will never be used again. Couldn't really be sure it was Matty. Didn't see his face.Hopeless technique.Whose dud idea was that?

You couldn't tell it was Matty from his voice? And his face was visible at times. It was probably better and a little easier for Matty this way rather than sitting down in a chair or on a sofa with talking about the things they did.
