Also, I remember very distinctly the Sonic 3D Blast level select "rumor", as it happened to me when I was a little kid. When people working on the live action version of your blue, wisecracking, anthropomorphic hedgehog that can move at the speed of light say that he needs to be changed to be more realistic, you hired the wrong people.
It's really interesting how Sonic Xtreme touched so many different aspects of the series during its development, but was the one to ultimately bite the dust.
I wasn't into Sonic as a kid but I did get into it later, it means a lot to me as it has helped me connect to people easier, also it's just a really awesome series :3

There's plenty to know about him from a behind the scenes autobiography, I think, called Destiny of the Dragon. There was a time when Nagoshi skipped going to a doctor due to back pain so he decided to go to sega to continue work. He was in pain while developing one of the games.

This was video was pretty cool! I missed out on the era of Sonic hoaxes, so learning a bit about them was nice. That was a real deep dive into Sonic R's development history, some real fascinating stuff in there.
