Man, Sonic Generations really felt like a proper "celebration of the series" done right, and in my opinion, the best Sonic game in the last 17 years. The modern version of Rooftop Run in Generations catches that "the Hero has returned and the entire city is celebrating his return" feeling so damn well. The music, the stages, everything, was peak Sonic.
This is why I'm glad RPG Speedruns are a thing. They're often really long, and tend to explain mechanics of what they are doing. There's even an entire Speedrun event like GDQ called RPG Limit Break.
Honestly, I love everything about Sonic Mania. From how whitehead pitched cd, to what everyone who worked on the game, worked on their own fan project before making Mania.
I'm the same age as Sonic, I remember being told when I was younger that I'd grow out of it. Yet here I am, reading the latest comics, waiting for frontiers and watching a hour long video of Sonic facts. Safe to say I didn't outgrow it

I only got into the franchise a few months ago, and I often wonder if I won't just get tired of it like with other things. I remember being so excited as a 9 year old boy for Sonic 06. Played the demo on 360. Got it launch, and beat all three campaigns. Even then I didn’t think it was very good, but for what it’s worth, I had a lot of fun with it. I definitely saw all the flaws but I still got some enjoyment.
Recently got on a big sonic binge mood. Finally playing Sonic Mania and can't wait for Origins. Now I have awesome fun facts to listen to as well? For an hour?! Man, I'm gonna love this channel
It was kind of fun having already found out about Ray and having played SegaSonic the Hedgehog way before the Mania Plus reveal. So many people was so confused about who this "new" flying squirrel character was. I'm really glad they brought them back; Ray especially is really fun to play. Just wish they could've brought back a playable Amy and Cream, too, but I guess they would be more representative of a later generation than the classis as they weren't playable until the Advance games. I just appreciate how differently Amy played from the rest of the cast in Advance, and Cream just absolutely breaks Sonic Advance 2 and is really fun because of it.
I had not notice how much I listen to your videos while on background, I pay premium but you making it available to everyone in a podcast form is actually an amazing idea. Hope it works out! This video particularly was my favorite.

I keep going over to these videos of game series I love and learning how terrible Yuji Naka, Takashi Iizuka, and all the unnamed SEGA execs are never fails to astound me. Also, It's disappointing that the racing games never have an option of having Sonic race on foot.
The reason Sonic 06 was so glitchy is because they sent an earlier build to print. The Xbox Live demo is more stable because the action gauge actually worked.
i actually got the opportunity to play Segasonic the hedgehog at Chicago's Galloping Ghost. It's definitely a good worthwhile experience, though I can't tell if it's cuz it was actually fun or because I was just super shocked it was even there
sonic has been a really odd special interest of mine for thew years now and I love learning things about the law or the development or just random game trivia in general. so videos like this are very useful to help fuel this interest

I’m a huge Sonic fan and growing up I always wondered why Sonic 06 was so glitchy what happen that made the game what it is today thanks to you guys I learned so much not just about Sonic 06 but every Sonic that came before and after it your videos taught me so much and watching this compilation really refreshed my memory on stuff I had forgotten about our Blue Spiky friend.
My opinion on a fact about S&SASR: Why did they think drifting felt unnatural on foot? Sonic Unleashed did it good, they just had to get the same idea for Sonic! And, even if Sonic Generations didn't exist yet, they could've made Sonic curl into a ball while drifting! That would've made much more sense for him rather than seeing him in a CAR.
Planet Wisp has the best music, it's my favorite soundtrack of all time, even outside of games. The tracks mean so much to me. My favorites were the original tracks in Colours, especially act 2.
I still find it funny that sega and Nintendo where once hated enemies. Now sega demands a game to be on wii at launch is funny just to boost sales of the wii
Watching this again after seeing the 2nd Sonic movie its fun to see a random fact or game-clip and recognize it got used or referenced in one of the films.
I feel like if Sega had released Sonic 06 on PC it may have helped with it's reputation since fans would definitely mod a lot of problems out and would actually see what the devs were trying to do even with the little time, staff and knowledge they had available.
The sonic arcade game seemed so cool. With more bosses, it probably would have been my favorite Sonic game if it had international release (also I liked Sonic the Fighters, but I was also younger then haha.) Love the isometric view, wish they would use that in another game.

Super Monkey Ball is another example. They struggled so bad, but Banana Blitz HD and Banana Mania saved it and many people were happy.
