- This week join your favourite scummy couple as they chat in the kitchen while making Clair's famous eggs in a cup breakfast; which has possibly the most Scottish ingredients ever :)
We catch up on how James' filming of his new TV show is going aswell as lots of laughs with the kids.
A bank holiday in the Buckley household consists of...video games! This time, the Buckley boys have even managed to convince Clair to join in, which leads to a very intense game of Mario Kart.
And not forgetting, most important of all, we finally get the much anticipated grass update from James himself. It's that time of year again folks! :)
Claire gets more scottish the angrier she gets. Very close to her shouting FREEEDOM!!!
Happens to all scottish people when we get angry 😂
Egg “swished up” in a cup is definitely a Scottish/Irish thing as I always had it and still have it 😂
Last week started with James at the sink and this week he’s emptied the dishwasher, I reckon he’ll be starting a Cleaning RUclips channel in no time 😉😂
Egg in a cup is class.personal choice a bit of black pepper doesny go a miss. Great vlog again troops 👍
My gran was Scottish and she always used to make us egg in a cup when I was a kid.
Same!!! I still have egg in a cup every day for lunch!
Irish and me da used to make it for us all the time too! Haven't had it in years, almost forgot about it until I saw this.
I used to no somone that done egg in the cup funnily enough she was Scottish as well
Yep, 'mon the chopped up egg in a cup! 🙌 With butter and salt and a bit of toast on the side... a staple of my childhood 🙂
Egg in a cup is a very Glasgow area thing. I come from Inverness in the Highlands and I had never heard of Egg in a cup until I came to live in Glasgow.
Yes..!!! A lawn update 😂my week is complete. Get well soon Harrison
Never forget my old neighbour Marlowe asking me if I wanted a cup of something I just assumed she said Tea strong Scottish accent she had I nearly shat me self when I went to slurp what I thought was a cup of tea and a bit of boiled egg slid into me mouth but after that initial shock I never looked back 😂
Just want to say what a funny down to earth genuine family, started watching recently with a recent episode and am now going backwards in time with episodes ....buckleys back to the future !
Egg in a cup is a classic Scottish dish. Love it 😁 ❤
Brilliant! You were on form James, love the witty comebacks! Egg in a cup, must be a Scottish thing i reckon, I’m English and never heard of it, sounds good though. Love watching you lot , so relatable and real!! Keep up the good work, stay Scummy!
Egg in a cup is definitely a Scottish thing! My Scottish mum used to make it for us when we were younger with salad cream and it was the best! 👍 x
Looking forward to your new series- the hoard! Sounds different to what you normally do but I’m all for it- good luck with it🎉
Top video as usual, especially the strike winning fart!
Mashed egg in a cup! And with Lurpak too- the correct butter! I used to have that when I was wee, sometimes followed by mashed banana in a cup. I'm going to have to make it for my lunch this weekend- blast from the past 😊 hope wee Harrison gets well soon x
I’m from Northern Ireland and it’s popular here too, my dad used to call it a ‘melted egg’ when he made it for me when I was little. You’ve put me in the notion so that’s what lunch will be tomorrow lol
Also Northern Irish. Been having it all my life and we've always, awkwardly, called it "egg-mixed-up-in-a-cup" 😂. Class with plenty of salt, pepper and butter
I'm from N.I. and a part of Gen z (18), and even I grew up with eggs in a cup. Fecking loved them when I was younger
Bless Harrison! Hope he is feeling better now. Really enjoyed the vlog. Nice to see James spending time with the other love of his life…… the grass 😂 ❤️
Won't be long before he is with his summer mistress the BBQ!
Speedy recovery Harrison. Cool glasses Clair and I love James's mad scientist look.
Most importantly, hope Harrison recovers from the bug! James and the lawn; the saga continues! Stay Scummy but smiley!
I just wanted to say how I adore you both your a fantastic couple and I really enjoy your content 👍 may it continue
You guys are great you do make me chuckle 🤩
Quality Vlog The B Family. I tend to put Vinegar in the Pot when boiling Eggs (stops them exploding ;-) ) so it needs a good wash afterwards. Get well soon Harrison.
My Granny was from Suffolk but lived in Glasgow after she meet my grandad during the war. She used to make us egg in a cup with a bit of brown sauce. It’s very nice. I think it’s a UK wide thing. I’m definitely having eggs in a cup tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me of this 👏
Only found out about the channel last week but I’m soooo addicted now!
12:18 wee Jude with the most Scottish "C'MON!!!" ever at the bowling 👍🏻😂
Get well soon Harrison great vlog as always you guys love to you all xxxx

AHH the old egg in a cup haven't had it in ages, brings back childhood memories of a piece n sugar😆
Egg in a cup, butter and salt. Had it all my life, comfort food. From Scotland but didn’t realise we were the only ones that had it 😂.
Love the vids 👌👍I feel sorry for clair dealing with pancake balls 😂 then again I feel sorry for my wife putting up with me 😂😂
Hi from Australia. Only just got on board love the content funny as
I can not believe you have egg in a cup!! I thought I was the only person to do this…. Haha nice one 😁
most imporatant question of this weeks vlog is where are those pots and pans from lol
Claire, those glasses make you look even prettier,I've never seen them on you before, now let me get back to watching you guys 💜
They’re blue light glasses. I have no idea why she wears them when she’s not in front of a screen?🤷♂️ Seems a bit odd🤷♂️
Just finished my egg in a cup. Have it everyday. I’m Scottish 😊
After you have cut the grass the trick is to use a hard bristled broom and brush the lines in.
Everyone will think you have gone mad but it really does work!
We are up in Northumberland... and we do bread and butter in the cup with a soft boiled egg mashed up ... gorgeous 😊... similar as you're just over the border .. anyway, jgreat blog 👌 take care 🙂
STRIPES!! James, the cheapest way of getting stripes without investing in any expensive roller is to use a garden broom and drag it over the grass!
Guggie egg was what we called it in Dublin, Ireland. Still have it all the time now with salt and pepper and sometimes chopped tomatoes.
Get well soon Harrison, if it was acting, good job and another thing that the cub is better than the Dad😂
I know I'm a bit late but Regarding the grass - Anything you do beyond your current routine will be a bonus - Worth noting though is to change the lines often as you will end up killing the grass off doing the same lines over and over (due to the shadows it creates). Also get some lawn feed down - something without chemicals as your lawn can become reliant on some chemicals so worth just going for echo one imo.
Sending love to H Bomb, hope the young cub is feeling better!
James I been cutting grass for like ten + years, love how you do it now looks mint but say when you cut it the time after go the opposite way it will make the grass thicker or so I heard but that’s basically what I do
So weird about the egg in a cup, I can trace my family name back to Scotland but thats it no one in the family is scottish but since I was a kid my dad would make me egg in a cup exactly the way you did it. I still get him to make it me now and im 37!! Its amazing.
Haven't had egg in a cup since I was aboot 8...thanks for the fond memories!
Egg in a cup 😊 grew up on it. Bringing back memories. Might have it tomorrow morning 🏴
We had 'egg mashed up in a cup' slabbered on toast for breakfast yesterday 🙌 Hiya from Glasgow x
Watching from Spain this week on the Camino walk!
Love the Buckley's catching up been a while 😊
When I was young I lived just around the corner from the primary school I attended and went home for lunch. When my mother asked if I wanted an egg, I would just assume I would be getting soft boiled, mashed egg in cup, with a knob of butter and a slice of toast. To this day it is one of my nostalgia snacks.
Brilliant blog as always made me order a switch lol for me mrs and kids
I think the egg in a cup thingy maybe a north /south British divide thing. I am from Lancashire and it was a childhood speciality especially if you were feeling poorly, it was a guaranteed cure all! Harrison would have been feeling better in minutes ! Hope he is ok now. Claire you need a medal for putting up with those three windy men!
My mum used to make that but she called it chucky egg and put butter, salt and pepper in it, i'd have it on butties. Loved it as a kid and we're from Liverpool.
I put pepper and tomato sauce on mine 😂😂 I love your fridge too 😍
Always had egg in a cup as a kid. Make it for ours now. We keep chickens, different breeds have different colour eggs. We have blue, white and brown eggs. Cracking vid as always. Cup of beans, "like a savory 99"
Chopped up egg, full of Lurpak, bit of salt, and a plain ootsider dripping butter.
Every Scottish mum makes it ❤️❤️
Awww the sign off was so good.
I’m looking forward to yer serial killer drama, The Hoard, dunno if that’s what you are currently filming. Big fan of Neil Morrissey as well as you, James. Sounds right up my street and I bet it’ll great as will you, undoubtedly.
My garden has the patchy grass issue as well at the moment it's a nightmare 😂 I lay down seed and about an hour later the birds are out there stuffing their mouths with it 😂 May have to get a roller to bed the grass seed in better maybe? Every year is a struggle 😂👍🏻
OMG I lived on egg in a cup when I was younger, definitely not just a Scottish thing 😂
My mum and Dad used to always make us eat egg in a cup. We loved it. ❤
Summers coming James, I know you love your bbq’s …. Have you heard of Artic Cabins? Just about to get mine!
Love egg in a cup! Had it since I was wee and I’m Scottish 😆 xx
To get the perfect strips you need a Hayter lawnmower with a built in roller… bought mine last year and I think I’m in love with it… the stripes are outstanding
Thanks for the memories, my nana from Greenock always made up mashed up chooky eggs on toast. Ps at 46 I’m always 4th in mariokart
My Nan who came from Belfast used to do me chucky egg(egg in a cup) all the time. It's the best.
For lawn rollers they are 6 or one and half a dozen of the other, they are very heavy. Separate rollers are better imo as you are not walking on the already rolled grass as you would when the roller is attached to the mower. So separate rollers are the way to go for sure
We usually have soft boiled egg in a egg cup with toast soldiers to dip in the yolk, but your egg in a cup looks way better, trying it tomorrow morning. Also I don’t wash the pot, just rinse and dry 😊 We also do toad in a hole which I believe is different to UK, For us we put a hole in a slice of bread, crack an egg into it and fry it, cover it in tomato sauce and Bob’s your Uncle.
I love an egg mashed up in a cup 😊 I sometimes drop a bit of mayo and pepper in as well for a posh egg in a cup
I am from Germany but have lived in Scotland for years! Egg in a cup is new to me (and will remain that way). Get well soon H Bomb!
I have egg in a cup regularly, I love it.... reminds me of being wee when my mum made us it... I like to think it is a Scottish thing 🏴 xx
Oh partial to egg in a cup. Needs loads of white pepper though 😋 🏴
I grew up in Glasgow, and egg in a cup was one of the few things my mum could cook.
I made it last week for my girlfriend who’s from Southend. It’s a big hit.
Yh Egg in a cup!! My mum used to always make it for me when I was little… gonna ask her tomorrow if she can make it again!! It’s so good I love it ❤️ any English friends on here please please give it a try. You’ll love it!
Edit : my mum does do it differently from you Claire.. she actually peels the shell from the egg and has them whole then mashes them up in the cup, works so much better 👌🏼
A Glasgow Kiss - made me chuckle hard
Have egg in a cup every other week.. here in Kilmarnock x. Love it 😂
Just refreshing the video for the 6pm drop.... Now I've got something to watch 🙂 See you in 18m 37s
U have 2 kids lol, give them a couple quid and a pair of scissors each and explain how high u want the grass lol 😂
Scottish here and loved egg in a cup as a kid and still do.
"Egg in a cup"...I'm definitely gonna try that 😋
Never seen ‘egg in a cup’ before. But I have smelt a fart after having boiled eggs! James’ fart must’ve stunk 😂
Egg in a cup with soldiers (sliced buttered toast) is the breakfast of champions.
We always had egg in a cup growing up ( my Mum called it chucky egg ) I'm not Scottish, but my Mum's Mum & Grandma were both Scottish .... I have no clue where it comes from, but bloody gorgeous, I used to make it for my son too. ❤
James you need to buy a hayter 48, it's the king of mowers for lawns like yours, and has a medium heavy roller, don't get a separate roller as overdoing that will cause moss issues from compaction in the shady areas.
YAAAAAAAH BEEEEEEAUTY ITS THE BUCKLEYS 😁
Have egg in a cup every so often. Think it is maybe more of a Scottish thing. Yeh canny whack it! 😁
Had it ever since being a kid.
Harrison's Idea for 2 camera's was bang on he should direct and produce :)
My dad always called it chucky eggs.
He used to put 3 soft boiled eggs in a cup with a teaspoon of butter, salt and pepper.
Quality scran :D
Hi there Clair I've just had Egg in a cup for my breakfast it was very yummy👌. I normally have boiled eggs and toast but it burns my fingers when I peel them i think you have converted me, tell James good luck with the play 👍
Yasssssss!! I used to have egg in a cup when I was a waen.. I think it is a Scottish thing, as none of my English friends knew about it, or thought it was a boiled egg in an eggcup 🤦♂️. I had mayonnaise instead of butter..
"you've never had beans in a cup man?"
I am too also on the hunt for a good lawn roller, the mrs gave me the pretty much the same response as clair gave you when going on about it
Central Scotland here (Clackmannanshire) we always called it ‘chappie egg’ usually served with toast soldiers 😂
As a Londoner my dad used to make that all the time! Now I want one,but with some real butter!
so good and funny vlog and love egg in a cup it's so good
I grew up in Dundee and egg in a cup was definitely a thing for us 😂
James’ Mii is spot on 😂
100% an Irish thing as well, my ma always made it for me as a kid, it's nostalgic greatness
Egg in a cup is a staple dish! It's both Irish and Scottish. I've also heard it referred to as chucky egg in England
